I never wanted THIS to be the video that blew up!😣I honestly don't even like string pulls. Please watch this: ruclips.net/video/VDaP4lz_eRQ/видео.html and check out some of my flip cups!
Hi my friend. Congratulations on the wonderful video you shared. Very interesting, thanks for sharing, keep in touch. Wishing you much success with your work🥰💞.💗💖.💓.
Sara you are such an inspiration to others not just want to be artist but those with health/mental conditions. You do beautiful work and you are a beautiful soul. Thank and keep it up!
Beautiful result Sara, A similar technique was popular in the 70's when I was I was getting into art. We used India ink and laid the string between a large folded sheet of paper. A piece of felt was placed on top followed by a weighted board. We would tie the string ends to wooden pegs for grip and pull out the string to create amazing mirrored abstracts that could be re worked in multiple layers once dry or colour washes applied in ink or watercolour. I have not seen or heard of this type of technique since... until your video - I must try it again. I can sympathise with your anxiety issues, I started having these in my mid thirties and it still plagues me. I have tried to run a few art classes as I did in the past but my anxiety flairs up and I break out in sweats and my hands shake.
I really want to know if you actually went back and tried it again, Peter. It sounds like you genuinely truly loved this technique. I might suggest not trying to teach it for now and just focus on the love of what you're doing. Nothing builds confidence like being successful.🤗💜
Sara, that was worth every second in the 18.03 minutes just to see what blossomed at the end. If I can enlist the assistance of another pair of hands I will be attempting this project. The music was as transcendental as the art. Thank you to you and Jeff.
I just read your bio. I am home on social security disability for physical reasons, but the chronic pain brings out my major depression, recurrent at times. I started doing arts and crafts as well to combat the depression and feel like you, a sense of accomplishment and pride. I did make wire tree sculptures for a few years on Etsy. Am in 5 countries and very proud to know my work is in people’s homes. New to painting but I love. Happy holidays as best as possible in COVID times
Some days are better than others but its the baby steps we take on those days that can feel like a lot. It's so neat to hear that you're sculptures are in some many places! These paintings are a great stress reliever, well in my opinion anyways 😅. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. We can only hope for a better 2021! 😜
I suffer from depression, as well. I am alao a perfectionist which Is why I put my paint brush down years ago. Everyone else thinks my paintings are beautiful, except me, I only see the mistakes or how I can improve them. This has inspired me. Thank you so much for sharing your story and how you are coping.
You just made my day, thank you! I'm always trying to be different, not just another painter doing more of the same. I realize the end result was a little less than ideal, but hey, at least it was something different, right!?!😋🤗💜
This is amazing!! I can see why you needed hubby's help...for that big canvas, you definitely needed some height! This looks like it takes a steady hand for sure! Absolutely wonderful job!!!!
I absolutely love it. I'm a beginner and am excited to find new styles. I enjoy watching people create beautiful work's of art. Thank you for taking the time to share this video.
You are so talented..I am over here working on my own quilt I'm knitting sections for and trying to make it as pretty as I can so that my landlord's wife will like it. She is sick with cancer and I have this urge to do what I can to make her happy. All I want to do is make her happy.
You are a kind soul. I'm sure they'll both love it. Thank you for the kind words, and I wish the best for you, your landlord, and especially his wife.🤗💜
30 feet...WOW! Amazing! I have never seen one this long. Such patience and steady hands needed for this type of pull. I see you definitely need a helper for a successful result. This is so pretty. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for not over explaining it also.
Thank you!! It certainly was a handful, but totally worth it. Even slightly muddied, it still came out beautiful in my opinion. I must give my man credit though, as it was his steady hands that made this possible. Thanks so much for commenting! It really does help the video/channel gain traction.🤗💜
I completely agree with you I’ve been so very depressed since my sister passed away and she was my best friend I had just started fluid art right before her passing because I just wanted to try it after she passed away that it seemed that’s all that was helping me get thru this horrible depression now 40 pieces later I continue to do more thank you for mentioning this helpful information what helped you
Belinda, your story truly touched my heart! There's something about pour painting that just causes you to forget about everything else and just focus on the task at hand. I find during times of mental anguish we need these moments of mental clarity to help pull ourselves back in. This is my key to finding the mental strength to taking on the day. Please continue to pour, as I promise it will help you more and more with each passing day. Not to mention you get some pretty nice pieces of work to show for it! Thanks for opening up Belinda, it means a lot. I'm here for you if ever you need a friend.🤗💜
Sara's Abstract Expressions thank you so much for your kind words I get into the pouring and I’m in another world where I’m really happy and I wait for the surprise when I’m finished I figure life is like the pour you put your heart in it and you have these plans to how it is going to come out but like life it does it’s own thing And I remember I’m not in control of what life brings but that’s the way it is I always thing if I jus t use this color or that swipe but in the end it comes out like it is suppose be.....
Good call! It is so relaxing to see what you can create with just a little paint and some string. I do hope you try this out! Thank you for the lovely comment 🤗💜
I just stumbled across your channel and am so impressed!!! I have PTSD and severe anxiety. I also craft, in many ways, to build my self confidence and combat anxiety. It's so calming for me. I am fairly new to my channel. I hope someday I can achieve such beautiful works of art as yours. Take your past, and find your path. 💚
I think 💭 is very beautiful, and I would love to have a small picture of yours. I’ve had three strokes that paralyzed my whole left side so with just my right hand is still in working order but, just. Thanks again for the video and your beautiful picture’s.
Hi, to prevent the middle sections becoming too muddy I put my strings through a ring then after the first 2 sections I move up the canvas I don't pull it across the lower paint only the very last bit where I pull it down the middle. That way I retain the shape and colour without it going muddy. It is the paint being pulled across the white that causes cells. Titanium white being denser than most other paints as it drops through the other colours it causes cells. Where it becomes mixed eg: muddy you don't get cells. Hope this info is useful.
What a gorgeous string pull. Like that you put on music; was so relaxing to watch you. Thank you for being prepared and doing such a beautiful Pull. I have a canvass that size, but will start will some smaller ones to begin with so I can find the colors I like!!! Wonderful!!! Would you please tell us next time what you used for "flow" to add to the paint, and the instrument you used at the end; was that to blow it dry?
Holaa!! Sara's un trabajo precioso, me gustaría saber si lo trabajas sobre madera y si cuando le pones la base Blanca con la espátula la tienes que dejar secar antes be poner el cordón con la pintura de colores , o se pone el cordón con la base tierna . Gracias me encantó. Un beso 😘😘💖
Looks like this this form of art is making a come back and taken to a whole new level. I remember doing this in my third year of high school in the UK, (quite a while ago) but using different coloured ink instead on paper. Love how yours turned out though. beautiful....
@Peter Sobocki I''m so happy you enjoyed it! I read your other comment, and was thrilled to hear this spurred your interest in a long forgotten form of fun and relaxation. I'd love to find out you went back and tried it again just for fun. Not to teach anyone... Just because.🤗💜
Oh de rien 🤗 c’est vrai qu’il est superbe comme tableau 🖼 je trouve ça beau en faire sois même, que plutôt acheter un tableau déjà faite au magasin, je redis encore une fois bravo 👏👏👍🙂
I’m new to this string pull painting you make it look so easy I’m gonna have to give it a try thanks for the inspiration I gonna have to practice on a smaller canvas first I think 🤔 tfs

Nice words sir, you should definitely try this again with multy colors.

@@SarasAbstractExpressions I'm mainly a traditional watercolourist but I am definitely interested in giving it a try again.
Really artistic.

so beautiful. i will try if i can do it. thanks for sharing.
This should be so amazingly new and fun. I hope it's successful and we'll learned.
You should do that again with blue, green, and gold and once it dries paint a peacock at the bottom.
I like it!!! I just can't draw to save my life...😔 I do like the colours a lot though.🤗💜
Beautiful idea
hijhk
I think a second smaller pull over the bigger pour or even do a third pull over that too to cover the grey. Let it dry in between pulls of course. 💜
Green, Blue, Gold, Red - CHRISTmacy
Ohhhhh so beautiful but what kind of paint do you use please?
Awesome
Thank you Carole! 🤗💜
I'd love it if you'd check out some of my newer content (this video is over a year old), your opinion means a lot to me.🤗💜
