Try laying your chains out straight altogether. Put sections of paint on the chains. Liift the painted chains one at a time and lay them onto the canvas. Bring all edges of the chains together as you lay them out. Then once they're all out pull the group of chains by the ends, but hold them between your fingers tightly at the edge of the canvas. Don't lift up. Pull towards you in a slow steady motion. At any time the paint starts to roll over the chain stop and let it level. Usually it will level itself out but I keep an empty baby medicine syringe to suck up any excess paint that rolls over the chain. You can do it it's just a much easier way. I didn't get it right the first five times either. LOL

Hiya, sorry but I think u might have had too much paint for this technique. Less is more in this case as the blobs of paint just overflow the chain and look just like blobs of paint. Before anyone jumps on my case saying I am a troll or being mean, that is far from the case. I am a fellow artist, just giving my opinion and suggesting the use of less paint and see what happens next time. Marc, I am really enjoying ur videos and hope u take this as it is meant, I'm not great at explaining things and would hate for u to think I was being nasty.
