Feel for you and your back. I suspect the flight really didn't help you. I wrecked my back with all the flying I do, and I travel very well 😩 Anyway, grab the opportunity and do what you can bad back and all and remember there is a beer to invisibility ratio so go for it 👍, we won't tell! 😅 Have fun, Sea Otter looks so cool and is on my list for next year. Bloody backs, Bane of my existence. You'll have to see if your sponsors will send you to Sea Otter Australia next year. It's being held on the south coast of NSW in a small town called Mogo. Absolutely idyllic location with 100+kms of new trails which are set to open this August, and which were funded through Bushfire Recovery grants after this area got hammered in the Black Friday Bushfires (NYE 2019).
Congrats on the race. Now come to Colorado and ride at altitude, more like 10 thousand feet up to 12 thousand feet. The Leadville 100, You up for it? Bring a mountain bike! Hard tail!

I was stationed there in the early 90's when it was Fort Ord. I could hear the seals barking from my barracks room. As far as a military post goes, it was a beautiful place. Enjoy...and please do post your race footage.

A young lass like you has a cranky back, eh! (I'm old enough to be your grandpa.) But it looks like you've recovered quickly. Actually, I used to regularly throw my back out, and I was plagued by back pain, until I started doing core exercises including planks. I've been okay since then. Anyway, good luck with your race.

Ugh. My experience is when the back goes, it's a week lying in bed before everything's normal. And I have to imagine riding a bike puts a lot of stress on just the wrong muscles. However, there are many good videos from PTs on RUclips about what to do when your back goes "out", as we say in the US. I have found that some of those videos will shorten the healing process by a few days. For a young healthy person such as yourself, maybe it can be managed in a day or two. 😎

I moved to the SoCal coastal town of Carlsbad 10+ years ago. It's so nice to ride along the sea when ever I want. Really enjoying your video of Sea Otter. I didn't get up there this year 😢

nope, not booze free, I just don't always want to drink alcohol but I really enjoy a cold beer. There are a lot of good NA beers over here so it's easy enough : )
