It sure looked like you enjoyed yourself. 😀 But those white blocks with gaps between them, at the edge of the mountain road, look very dangerous. If you ran into them on a downhill, I shudder to think of the damage they could do. 🤕

It's the thought of hitting the corner of one that'd worry me. If they were continuous one could slide along them, which still wouldn't be very nice. Sorry, I'm not trying to deter you, honest!
Next time I go there I think I will explore some of the gravel, although I have done the odd time on some road routes. Fantastic place to ride either way I guess.
Hint: If you hold a pedal firmly at the axle and use it to rotate the cranks backwards, you'll be screwing the the pedal axle into the cranks. This only works with the correct pedal for either side and is much faster than using your fingers to twiddle the pedal in.
