Brilliant, such an inspirational gem of a post! If this doesn't encourage folk out on their bikes, with minimal kit and a heart full of fun, on a memory making adventure, then I don't know what will! Love this, well done Juliet!😊
Jules and Laura the dream team back together!!
😀
Nice.. simple and better than Rwanda and other crazy stuff 😊. Ok ok i admit the Tuscany trail trip was one of my favorites. Keep up the good work. I love the energy you get when you are out with friends.
Love a microadventure
I just noticed that you cycled past the real start to that track. That building at the beginning with the big stone chimney was originally used to process the clay from Redlake. If you go up the really steep lane by the building you come out at the start of the old railway track bed (and if it's not too busy you can drive up the lane and park up the top).
I see! Thanks for the tip
Looks like another banging summer in the UK this year.
It’s amazing so far. No great for our reservoirs though
Your packing snafu was funny. Nice to see Laura; it's been quite a while.
Not just me that forgets things! 😅 The key is that there is always a solution. 👍 Looks like a cool spot and great on a hot day.
Such a simple but lovely bikepacking trip! Love it!
A most beautiful trip, indeed. It looks like you both had a glorious time camping and visiting the local bovine population.
That camping van looks Sweeett!Lovely trip
A great time was had 👌
You parked on our spot 😉We park there when we visit family in South Brent!
This place is perfect for a night by the lake.
Beautiful landscape - tip for Juliet - invest in a camping gear checklist to avoid forgotten items - works for me!
That's a great idea!
great video Juliet
I did that route on my ebike once. I said never again unless I can afford a full suspension bike!
Hahaha
What difference a bit of sunshine makes 🙂
Juliet&Laura bikepacking adventure, I wouldn't miss it for the world!
You just need to pack double the stuff you would normally take with you @MrsGriffiths in case @MrsElliot misses anything;
But then above all you've got to be considerate of her, take good care of her and you will be having yet another amazing outdoor experience together, one that breathes new life into all of us
😁😃 😚🙂
🇮🇹🌞 👋
Laura is the best. She does often take extra stuff for me as I struggle so much with organisation. She’s a great friend!
Fab video again thanks
Thank you!
Red Lake is definitely on my bucket list of places to camp on the moor. There are unattributed reports of arsenic contamination that worry me, although there are also contradictory reports of fish and tadpoles in the lake, so who knows 🤷 I've only swam in streams there. Hope to visit again sometime this summer.
There were a lot of fish when we were there, we saw them jumping out catching flies whilst the sun went down
Every video 😆 Juliet forgets something!
Right?!
Macht gemeinsam eine Deutschland Tour von Süd nach Nord oder Nord nach Süd 😊
Thanks for the vid. Really enjoyed but can’t work out how you got back from Red Lake? Couldn’t see on Strava-have failed to get a good alternative route from there. Wondered if you might kindly share.
@@therunleader thanks-yes, tried 2 of those options on Gravel bike, keep trying to make a loop out of that trip..
Evening? Really?
Thumbs up only for the nice Gravel Smith helmet.
Was this starting from Ivybridge? I normally take the train from Bristol to Plymouth and use the Plym Valley Trail to get to the old railway line to Princetown to get onto Dartmoor, but have been tempted to start from Ivybridge next time for a change of scene/explore different routes.
we actually parked in South Brent and rode to Ivybridge then up from there
You always forget everything 🤪
Yep 🤷♀️
So your route socks and you left half your stuff at home. Isn't this standard?
May I ask when this was? I have heard that it is quite cold in UK but didn't know that you have to wear puffy jacket and wrap yourself up with a sleeping back in spring~early summer!
Dartmoor is quite high and it does get surprisingly cold once the sun sets, even in the summer. I've been wildcamping for years in the UK and take gloves and a hat on every trip.
It was last week. It’s cold at night!
the URL to your strava in the description is broken, it's been truncated.
Thanks for the heads up!
The Crazy Girls are back again, Juliet you are so disorganised. Last time I went to Red Lake some bloke told me I shouldn’t be riding on the tramway as it’s not a bridleways. I just carried on my way in ignorance.
Ah right, didn’t know that
You are fully tanned.
You’re always forgetting stuff 😂
Yep
Damn every comment is a thirsty dude😂 go girls nothing beats the wild
