Without ebikes some people just wouldn't get out cycling. Surely the more cyclists out there riding has to be a good thing. More cyclists may encourage the government to invest in a better infrastructure for us all.
I wouldn't still be riding if it wasn't for my ebike , I love it and it allows me to keep up with my younger fitter friends.
In fact they were all for me getting one. I put off getting one for a couple of years and persisted with a normal bike , big mistake. If you think you need an ebike get it , don't put it off.
The more people on the trails, the more crowded. The more crowded, the more problems. Leave mountain biking to mountain bikers, it' s not a sport for everyone.
@@ahouston9 No one said anything about trails. They said more people cycling. Don't put words into peoples mouths.
@@sneekz07 Well said Elle.
that would require bikes to be more efficient than cars....
I always wondered what your thoughts on e-bikes would be. Glad to see your support for them. I have been able to ride again after years of not. I lost about half of my lung function in my 20s and had to give up running and biking. Thanks to my ebike I can ride again.
ah that's awesome, really nice that it's helped you back into cycling
Never give up lung function! fight fight fight!
Just turned 66 and have a gravel bike and a flat bar gravel ebike. I ride them equally. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. Do what makes you happy - that’s what matters!
Exactly the same here. Had heart surgery and the ebike is getting me out and on the road to recovery. Use my normal bike for the few flat trails we have.
‘56 was a good year.
@@0bob0cya agree!
stone cold Neg!
I will be 66 January .I love my E-Bike....Have a good day...............Old Chris NC
I’m 54 and recovering from back surgery plus have nerve damage in my left leg. I was pretty much going to quit riding until I tried an E Bike and it saved me. I went out and bought a specialized turbo Levo. I’m loving it!!! Smile’s for miles!!! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Sour grapes can stay sour over e-bikes. No one's cheating you by riding an e-bike. They help people.
Yep, they help those that can't, assistive technologies are something that have enabled many that just could not do it before
No they’re cheating themselves unless there’s something wrong with them
@@Tarmaccyclocross No ones cheating themselves .

I'm a "real" cyclist just like the close-minded few who have commented "NO" to ebikes and motos. But like you Juliet, I say YES. Ebikes are fun! Motos are fun too. However, (being a "Real" cyclist) I'll keep pedaling old-school until my knees and back can't deal with it anymore. After that, I'll be ePedaling with a big eGrin on my face. Don't let the "cranks" get you down! To the cranks; get over yourself!
You just echoed the same sentiments that I have! Enjoy riding whatever it is on two wheels that is fun for you!
the sooner you embrace E culture, the sooner you begin your "true life"
I just reached that line. Had an ebike conversion before (Lots of fun) nowadays I have to. Still having fun and getting exorcise even though my metal hip has gotten to loose to walk without a cain I can peddle the ebike, usually comfortably.
Great to hear and see your e-bike experiences Juliet. I ride hilly trails in Herts and Bucks most weekends, and one of my fellow riders is in his 70’s and rides a Cube e-MTB. He is in an experienced motorcyclist, so watching him skilfully shredding steep climbs and descents with us is a joy, as he would not be able to without the power assist. I will not hesitate to invest in one when I can no longer power myself up the trails. Would love to see your BMW too. ❤
What a pleasure to watch. I hope you're genuinely as happy as you seem to be ( even if not all the time)
Keep up the good work!
It‘s always nice to see you happily smiling. Thanks for sharing! 🤗
Great Britain truly is great.
All your rides have made me want to go there for years and I was finally able to do so.
So far I spent two months in Scotland and a day in Wales. It's all so beautiful for cycling. The landscape is just breathtaking.
I probably want to come back with a gravelbike at some point to go a bit further than I can on my XC hardtail.
Bicycles, e-bikes, motorbikes! They've all got two wheels!
Let's see them all! 😃
Brilliant video thanks Juliet. I stumbled across your channel as I have just (well a few months back) bought an Ebike, a Trek Rail. I also have a normal hardtail MTB, a road bike and a gravel bike! Love your enthusiasm for everything, which comes across in the video. Good for you doing the Surfers Against Sewage challenge. And yes, we'd love to see the BMW R90. I am now subscribed, keep up the great work.
Thanks for the video, and I guess you could call that seat post adapter a "dropper stopper"? 😉 I'm a former marathoner who had led tours across multiple countries, so I have nothing to "prove" either, and an e-bike is now my favorite. Like you say, it's just a bike with FUN, and I love the versatility. I get received with smiles and friendly hello's while riding parks and such, and it's rare that I get the well known "You're cheating!". Most of those are in good humor anyways, but if someone is serious, my reply is a quick "Not racing!". Out of our five bikes, this one can be the easiest or the hardest to ride, by choice, and the only way I could match the workout is to tow an old car tire behind me on the regular bikes. Thanks again for the video, and have fun!
Appreciate the Golden Saddle Cyclery shirt! So sad to see the shop closing, but glad to see their vibe and influence echoing around the world
First regular bikes, then motorcycles and now e bikes. Love it!!!!! Can't wait to see more.
2 things. God your lock up is totes-amaze-balls and I'm uber jealous 😆, and I just love your vlogs, fab content, stunning scenery, cold water swimming, camping and happy happy vibes flowing through the screen 😊
Cold water swimming, i could tell you were into that by the way you fearlessly jumped into the North Sea there for a dip, haha!
Great article....sounds exactly like how I got hooked. You just go all day without getting exhausted!
Yes, I'd like to see both!thanks🤙
Great vid, thank you. I've returned to riding after about 10 years of not as a result of my new EMTB and absolutely love it. Just hitting my 50's and with not only a past back injury causing me challenges and then adding to the challenge I tore my left quadricep 100% in half 3 years ago, riding was not exactly enjoyable during and or after. However, thanks to my dual shock suspension EMTB I even did 56km last weekend and can now also ride with my 15 year old who's 6'6" and has energy to burn!
Ebikes are absolutely the future. People that ride on ebikes together are basically all on the same page which is nice.
👊
Beautifully put, who wouldn't love to fork off to the beach.....
Thanks for a fun ebike video. I really enjoy my emtb and e-rode bikes. Doing lots of rides here in Asheville, NC. Ron
I say yes please! Show us the motorbike and the souped-up ebike when it’s done 👍
Show us the moto
Lucky you biking & beaching.
Great statement that " we are over thinking about ebikes just something fun to ride "
I've been sitting on the fence for two years now wether to take the plunge 😉
Subscribed.
I have a cube e bike and I love it. Takes me all over the place which I would never have done on a normal bike. I absolutely love it
great video
I agree about the e-bike making me want to get out and ride.
i have a specialized turbo-vado.
I look forward to riding and reasons to get out instead of reasons not to go.
Thank you
Proper blast 😂 and no faffing around with changing a flat tire on a e bike
Yes definitely want to see the eBike and motor bike. Thanks.
0:40 " . . . So Savage . . . " What can I say, thanks for the shout-out!
I have a e gravel bike and love it, it's the Mahle x35 system, which isn't ultra powerful but assists me greatly around the wolds of East Yorkshire. I wouldn't be able to enjoy a large amount of riding without it due to knee and hip problems. You just have to abide by charging and battery storage conditions to avoid problems. A big investment for me but worth every penny.
I have the same (Ribble Gravel e) in North Yorkshire. Great aren't they!
@@mrgravyman I have the Cannondale Topstone, it weighs a ton but that doesn't matter, have done over 60 miles on mixed terrain and haven't run out of battery yet!
@@paulross2914 Nice bike! They're surpisingly capable of dealing with what I call Yorkshire gravel (massive rocks) haha
Got a Lectric in XP 2.0 in June and loads of fun. At 71 I gave up riding Harley’s and eBikes still offer the fun factor…also I owned a BMW R9t and that was a great fun bike and would enjoy seeing some videos of you riding it on those Hobbit country roads that surround you in Devon. 2 wheels are fun motors or not, your open mind to riding them all is refreshing.
BMW R90?! Heck yeah! Just as you were getting to this part of the video (vlog?) I was thinking, "Hmm. I wonder if Juliet has still got an interest in motorbikes?" 🤔 Looking forward to it, as well as the Marin upgrades! Cheers from Northern California! 👍
always love watching your videos!
Thank you
As a keen cyclist who has just completed my CBT I’d love to hear all about the R nine T 😊
Superb smiles for miles your joy came right out of the screen. I’m trying to make my stumpy last another six years then I’ll go electric for my 70th😱assuming (I last that long 😱 )
I have an e-bike that I use to commute. It is great when the winds are unfavorable. There have been times when I just stayed home rather than fight headwinds into town on my road bike. It is great when I can get somewhere without being too exhausted and too sweaty. Care must be taken to stay within the range of the battery. Nothing is worse than riding a dead e-bike home (especially against the wind).
“You’re just over thinking it!” 😂
Totally agree with your sentiment on e-bikes - I have 3 (hardtail, Full sus enduro and Cannondale road) and 4 normal bikes, love them all and ride them all. Would love to see your motorbike. Shame it's not a Royal Enfield Himalayan (like mine) - real modern retro no fuss, no computers, fixable everywhere, world travelling ADV. Keep up the good videos Juliet :)
Love the enthusiasm as always. What's the make of the shoulder sling bag you use ? Always looks like it stays in place really well.
Just subscribed and like what you're doing. The addition of motorbike videos would be a bonus as I'm a biker who would love an ebike......
Love the content , anything on two wheels is good fun
I have the same Marin alpine E2 just put over 1000 miles on it , that bike takes a beating with no problems, put icetec rotors and metallic pads , it goes around switch backs great just lean it over and it goes around the turn by its self , climbs like a mountain goat , rated a top bike in mountain bike action, of course changed the grips and seat , for $6,000 dollars it’s a top bike on the market, I got the first one in Northern California last year and love it
Definitely want to see the motorbike, and also where you got that sick t-shirt from!
Love your positivity about all things bike. Love my e-bike too. Would be great to see the BMW.
I also like to, as you said, fork off and go to the beach!🤗 Interesting post Juliet, not sure what my thoughts are on e-bikes.
All I'll say, without being negative, is perhaps they're not for me right now! Each to their own!
Take care Juliet😊
thanks, you too
Great video .. the saddle bag looks great .. I was just wondering how many liters it is .. many thanks Richie
Well done Ms Juliet. Excellent as always :)
Many thanks!
Julie, E-bikes are fantastic. My youngest son was a very big lad a few years ago.
He was able to enjoy riding 100km with us in the Dolomite mountains. There is no way he could have ridden that route on a road bike.
I'd encourage anyone to try it.
E bikes are great I really think they are the future of commuting 🤙🏻
Great work on Dip a Day.
Thank you
Its good to see a professional cyclist like yourself giving ebikes a good shout! Ace video ❤
Hi, Juliet. Always love your videos, very uplifting. A question: How are you managing to get those great narrow depth of field shots of yourself whilst cycling? Cheers, take care.
Hi mate, just watched your video about the MAHLE app I didn't know about the new version couldn't download the old one ,so thanks now got the app. 😅
Didn't even know you had a motorcycle license, but yeah definitely interested in hearing about it. How about some motorcycle related videos?
Well, I’m a “real cyclist too” but drank the E-cool -aid and sold my Amish bike right away! ⚡️🤘🏽⚡️
Holy crap 😮 what a bike work/storage shop! Unreal 👍👏
The smile on your face says it all 😊
Upper Zone 4 riding is readily achieved riding an eMTB so you don’t need to worry about loss of aerobic fitness. The beauty is that you can avoid the ick feeling from going beyond your recovery rate. Best of all, uphill riding becomes fun, I never fail to enjoy a ride on my eMTB and that means I explore more. Oh and lifting them over gates means you boost your upper body strength. 🎉🎉
Yeah those uphills are super fun!
Very cool! Totally looking for an ebike for my wife. I’m just so much taller the boost keeps us together on the climbs and the arguing to a minimum. 😊
More people on bikes the better 👍 “fun” is the key element 😀
Yesssssssssssss get on the ebike love my specilized 👌🏻👊🏻
Thanks!
Thank you : )
Ebikes are the coolest thing in my lifetime imo, you can go anywhere on them and see great things that only super elite fit people could see, you can still get a workout it’s up to rider how much assist they use. Ebikes have opened the world up to everyone and that’s a good th
Nice, I like to fork off to the beach sometimes as well.
JKW just did an E-bile video today also, funny. I think ebike's are a blast! I just keep pretending I'm sill in my 30's on my Amish mountain bike, even though I'm 4 months away from 50. 50!! YIKES!!! 😳 That Marin ⚡bike is nicer looking than most. Have fun Juliet!
I for one would be interested in your journey into motorbikes
Love to see the motorbike (though I'm sad you didn't get a Triumph).
I am another cyclist who could not ride outside, especially on our Welsh hills, without an electric motor to help me. I have Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis.
Alleluja, miracle has happened! Now take it it to the Welsh trails and show just what it can do. Too many people think it's a cheat but the fact is it's a whole new chapter in biking and that's why the MTB comunity are all over them. Well done Juliet for crossing the Rubicon.
Couldn’t agree with you more about e-bikes! They’re just fun 🤩
" ... fork off to the beach ... "
Language, Juliet! 😂
Yes motorcycles are good for me. I found the Specialized Vado SL good as it is light enough for me to lift over five bar gates. It is more electric assist I would say, for help getting up steep hills…
Awesome bike xxx
Got an eBike after a hip replacement for recovery, it was very good for strenthening the joint.
I ride both human powered road bike during the week and an e-bike some weekends , I’m 58 and when knees are really sore the e-bike helps
I have an ebike, mountain bike and Roadbike. They all bring something different. And i love all 3. 🤟👍
Exactly
Yes to the motorbike! Whilst I do have a cruiser bike I am spending much more time on my BSA Bantam trials bike including classic/vintage trials events!
Hi Juliet, love to see the mother bike thanks
Rode a variety of "acoustic" bikes for years......flash forward....multiple surgeries have limited strength and mobility in one of my legs. Got a Fat Tire e-bike just before the Pandemic and have never looked back. It's like having a superpower !
Yes on both.
I often use my ebike, a 2019 Radwagon, for Zone-2 training.
I just put a WTB HTZ mullet wheelset on my eBike and looking forward to many miles of smiles with them on board. I like that you get it that even experienced long time bikers can get a smile on their face riding an eBike if they would just pull their chamois's out of their bums.
Hi, what are the saddle bag details, tried to Google but drawing a blank. I also have an RNineT, smashing
Would be great to see your MC!
I agree with you on line choice. It’s different on an E bike. It kind of throws you up into the line you’ve chosen, if that makes sense
I have a one legged friend, no longer able to ride a “normal” bike👍 I look forward to being able to ride with him again because an E-bike will help him😉👌
If you ride an E-bike, good for you👌 At least you’re riding🤩👍
Nice, real nice looking bike.
Ride what you like! Healthwise I could see me getting an ebike sooner rather than later.
Yes e-bikes, and yes motorcycles. Play hard!
I’m a motorcyclist too - I’d love to see the BMW. Anything with 2 wheels is good 👍
I use my e scooter apollo when im taking a day off from bicycle to recover.
Hi Juliet good too see you....
Wish I could just Fork off to the beach today 😂
But at least I do have a fantastic E-MTB, the Hardtail/Enduro don't seem to get out much these days!
Juliet, can you give me a link to your seat post dropper adapter, or a product name? When I do a Google search I keep on getting seat post sleeves, which is not what I want.
Sure, here you go. I’ll put in the description too www.apidura.com/shop/backcountry-saddle-pack/
You really make this look fun and I'm sure it is. But most of us don't have sponsors who give us free e-bikes, so a regular bike is still preferable. However, I put a conversion kit on my wife's bike that only adds a few pounds and it helps her keep up with me on longer rides. A win win for both of us.
Welcome to the e-bike revolution. I would love to see videos of you riding your e-bike on mountain bike trails, bikebacking and even road touring. Please show your BMW R90. BMW really stands for Best Motorcycle in the World
Will do!
We call it "the ebike smile" 😀
I don't know which camera you're using, but I have a GoPro 360 Max and for some reason when I record road cycling it comes out clear on RUclips, but when I record MTB riding it comes like this video also, kind of blurry, and I don't understand why! 🙂
It’s the shaking
Let's see the motorbike as well! (And the cats.)
