Hey that's pretty cool that you and Dave adopted your daughter I never knew that that totally makes me respect this channel even more so. I only say that because I was adopted to and I know that adoptive parents have the biggest hearts and your daughters totally lucky to have parents that are into snowboarding, cycling, BMX, and skateboarding just saying great channel by the way and God bless you two the world needs more people like you 2.
Thank you so much, your comment really got to me. What a nice thing to say that adoptive parents have the biggest hearts. I think we are incredibly lucky!
To the extent she's interested, it would be cool to hear more about specific stories, anonymised if necessary, about some of those many jobs she had. Maybe a 'ride and tell' storytime thing?
Great video! And I also want to thank you. I have spent the last 5 months working from home, barely leaving the house, and using youtube videos of cycling / MTB as background noise. I only found your channel a couple of days ago, and the three I watched today (including this one) were finally the catalyst that I needed, which no other vlogger had yet been able to provide. I dug my bike out of the shed this afternoon, and, for the first time in about 12 years, actually went for a ride! Not far (about 12 miles) but I did reach the ocean. And I feel great! Your enthusiasm is infectious.
Total ray of sunshine. I imagine you, Dave and your daughter make a great trio, and she is destined to be super cool. Just found your channel and really enjoying them. Thank you Juliet.
You are my happy pill! After a long, crappy day at work, stuck overseas away from my family (for 7 months so far), I have literally just collapsed on my couch only to get bombarded by a positivity bomb! I’m now smiling so thank you! Awesome vlog, what an amazing lady you are and Dave seems like a bloody good bloke too. My no.1 internet couple!
I have only watched a few of your videos. Thanks for doing this one. A very nice and raw sneak peak to who you are. I am a bike geek, cruisers and town bikes, road bikes, mtn bikes, gravel curious, and big wheel bmx bikes, and tandems. Nice channel. Can’t wait for more videos. Nice work!
I only found your channel when I was looking for info on bike packing, but I've watched a few videos / vlogs now and this is a great channel. I subscribe to the view (normally) that it's best not to know much about the people who entertain you, however I genuinely found this interesting and entertaining and you're a norm too! My favorite thing I like about you / your channel is you just like riding bikes. Me too, it's the best and keeps my life on a good level. Thanks for sharing and for the channel, it's great.
I recently deleted most of my RUclips viewing channels. Yours and Dave’s were at the top of my “save” list. Every time I watch either of your videos I walk away smiling. Keep doing whatever random thing you do because it’s awesome. Thanks 😊
What is your favorite kind of riding right now? I'm mostly an Enduro mtb rider but I also like road cycling and have recently begun gravel riding. I agree with what you said in a previous video that different types of cycling compliment each other.
Such a varied life, what an experience, brilliant. You’re so rounded. I don’t think any of your followers will be surprised that you have modelled. Great episode and congrats on achieving 100K on Instagram.
It's awesome to see you can do all sorts of things. I love it! A bit like me. Except I still suck at cycling. But people always told me stick to one trade, but I'm just too curious for that. At 41 I picked up playing cello next to piano & guitar and trying to be a triathlete. And I still think it's amazing you adopted that lovely girl. As an adoptee I appreciate this! ❤️
Love this video! So nice hearing a bit of your journey. Talk about Jane of all trades ! You are a breath of fresh air as always on you tube. You are inspiring and talented in so many areas, yet still humble and down to earth , which I think is hard to come by these days. Thank you for sharing some of your story Juliet!
Usually when I comment on a video I do so right away. This one made me pause and think a bit. First, it takes a certain amount of guts to "get personal". It just does. I consider myself blessed to be given a look "behind the scenes" in this and many of your other videos. We see your home, your neighborhood, your lovely daughter, your whole life really. And that is precious. I'm an animal lover, and I love when one of your feline friends makes an appearance too! Your daughter is obviously an intelligent, talented person and will be on to great things in short order. So glad she has you and Dave to help guide her path. I can relate to infertility as my wife and I suffered through multiple miscarriages (7, I think) before finally having four healthy babies. All are adults now and it has been so worth it! Doesn't erase the painful memories, but they remind us of the struggle and somehow cause us to appreciate what we have all the more. Thanks for sharing your family with us. You are all very fortunate!
if you have a gopro style camera there is a guy on YT Adam Hugill who ties a selfie stick to the front of his frame and he can talk into it while cycling ans swivel it frontwards as needed ... save hand holding the phone? great video thank you
I think I started following you on social around the time you were a bike messenger. Did you ride Charge fixies some time back then? I bought a plug and when I was researching them I found you. Been here since!
As a new-ish subscriber I’m grateful for this video! You have always seemed down to earth to me but I especially respect it now knowing you’re such a badass. Thanks for making quarantine way more tolerable!
Amazing biography!! It blows me away often when someone who I stumble across on RUclips while tracking my variety of life’s interests does a background video and I get to understand the insane level of conviction people such as yourself put into the lifestyle that from the short glimpses we see on a video seem so …..”perfect”. The under story always is that it is never an easy road to greatness, it is always the endless hard work and sacrifices that get any of us above the “ordinary” non appealing un videoed lifestyles most of us live out our lives at. For me as an artist for the last 45 years that I’ve been counting it is hearing of the “real path to achievement “ that helps me to find the motivation to keep at it, to keep producing, to keep pushing myself even against the forces of nature’s aging erosion of strength. It is the words and actions of champions such as yourself that raises the bar for my own journey. To others I may be just an old man on a bike, or an old skier, or some burnt out ancient woodcarver dude, but I am the champion of my story, as you in yours. Thank you for your hard work and sharing it with us!!!
That is an impressive resumé! I have to admit that the amount of reading I do has plummeted since I have kids and discovered cycling. Keep up the good work.
Hats off to you Juliet, takes some courage to allow your life to be scrutinised, what a great gift you've given your followers. Fantastic to watch. Factoid, Peter the Apostle is the origin of the upside down cross.
This just put you even higher on the hero list, if that was possible! You are a font of talent. It all makes sense now. Love your vlogs. Love your generous and genuine approach to life. You are an inspiration. Thank you for taking us along.
You're awesome, thanks for sharing the cool stories! I had no idea about any of that. I got into fixed gear in 2007 or so and eventually freestyle, then found gravel cycling around 2018. Also metal has always been a love of mine. Btw, Dave is also awesome. I started watching you both after I got a Marin gravel bike last June, 2020 (somehow missed this video). Keep up the great videos, and I look forward to many more. Cheers!
Simple vids showing people enjoying what they do and I enjoy watching them! Lol. As an ex-pat I find myself drawn to the scenery as you ride, especially the country side of the south west. Thanks.
Love this video! I don't drink or smoke my only 2 vices are...cycling and reading. Where I come from was not accepted that an unmarried person adopt, I always wanted because I can have my own, now 100 years later in a more civilizated country but already to old for kids. Thanks for another great video Juliet
I just found your channel today because I'm getting back into bike riding and, wow, what a fantastic video! You are truly an amazing person, a joy to be around at a pub! Out of all your multi-faceted talents/abilities/accomplishments, I'd say the most important is that of being a good Mom, good on you 👍 I look forward to viewing all your content, thanks. Cheers from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦😊🇬🇧
Thanks for sharing your background! It answers a lot of questions! You are such an enjoyable and entertaining video blogger! Your enthusiasm and fun personality is an absolute joy to follow and I love all the videos you have posted! I have learned a lot about cycling with all of your fun insightful knowledge! Keep creating and posting these! Just as you read an hour a day, I enjoy watching one of your videos per day to see what interesting topic you are going to share! A fan from across the pond!
I like the Lightning Seeds! I first heard them on the 'Clueless' soundtrack and later picked up one of their albums. Very cool among your impressive repertoire of talents! I love the metal too. Ministry and Helmet were staples to get me pumped up in my bike racing days of yore.
I am fairly new to your channel, so thanks for providing your backstory. I concur that having a full, fulfilling life really benefits from having diverse interests & passions. Carrying traits from one aspect of to a new and different focus can only be a benefit on this lifelong journey. Thanks for taking us along for the ride! You are great.
Great video Juliet. I’d be interested to know how you clean your bikes and chain etc. That might be one of the most boring questions I’ve ever asked - BUT I’m finding it more difficult than I thought - esp the chain.
Loved this video, I started watching your videos because of your down to earth style and amazing smile make the day a little better. A smile is powerful. Thanks for sharing 😀😷
I had no intent of watching this entire video but did because you quite fascinating. I found your page looking up cycling fixed gear and painting your bike and you make it look fun. Hello from the East Coast USA on the Ocean now . Keep putting out great content.
So glad you got a cake shot in at the end! Am in a 14 day quarantine at the moment and your last two videos have been a great antidote. Really enjoyed them both, though maybe being so accomplished, you could have put in a few faults in this one to make us underachievers feel a bit better!
I always feel better after one of your vids. These are super hard times on the Monterey Bay what with covid, fires, heat wave, rolling blackouts (good band name!) and an orange monkey in dc. I wanna ride my bike now...
i have a question about toe overlap and stand over height on bikes would you do a video. I'd also like your ideas flat or gravel for older riders. I love siting on the drop bar in the store but not sure i could ride it. I'm following your channel and love it. I'm really old but still love to ride bikes. I'm looking at the Masi Expert CXRc sizing is always difficult and a nightmare to figure out.of course being older i'm not skinny anymore. I need a bike for a week to find out if it fits not a 2 second parking lot ride whilst the sales person is watching?
Wow, fantastic video Juliet. I'm amazed at how many talents you have. Lovely story about your struggle to conceive, it's so important to talk about these things. Good luck in the future 👍⭐
I’m Estonian, but born (1981) and raised in USA. I find the English accent, mostly women’s, so damn intoxicating. Yours, is on another level. Now I am hard of hearing, near deaf all my life. I need subtitles ALL the time. However, the English accent, I have no Problem whatsoever! My wife is Norwegian/Cherokee, we have 5 young kids together. Our 3rd kid, Hannah “Lee” was named after a very dear favorite of mine, my wife’s grandmother, Norma Lee. She served in both WWI & WW2 & an Olympian. I am not a social person whatsoever and she was the only person that understood me why I hated family gatherings. She got me out of my shell for those very short 3 years since I’ve met her before she had passed. When I named my daughter Hannah “Lee” after Norma Lee had passed away, I swear she granted my wish which I only mentioned it just ONCE in our many many conversations, Hannah Lee, has an English accent. Still, to this day, I cannot help it while my eyes swell up and many emotions run through me. And the kicker is, my daughter Hannah, when she was 3 at that time, she had a dream where she was approached by a woman named Norma Lee, mentioned to Hannah that we have the same middle names, well.....we never mentioned to Hannah about Norma Lee until after the dream. Norma Lee is absolutely Hannah’s guardian angel. To me, the English accent is just heavenly to my ears.
MORNING!!! Love the facts, I also love cycling and have once been a cycle courier and miss those days as I had to move put of London as I couldn't afford the rents, I'm also trying to learn the harmonica and will go onto learn the banjo as I want to learn that one. But got to give it to you for the snowboarding

EASILY one of your best vids. just brilliant.

To the extent she's interested, it would be cool to hear more about specific stories, anonymised if necessary, about some of those many jobs she had. Maybe a 'ride and tell' storytime thing?

We went through the IVF pain. Now adoptive parents to two amazing kids and couldn’t be happier!
Same. IVF was sheer hell. We ended up adopting two boys from Kazakhstan in 2003.
You are my happy pill!

My no.1 internet couple!
I bought a Condor when I visited London in 1971. Rode over the Alps before returning to California. Great bike. Still have it
That’s awesome
This was so interesting! Probably most interested to see more details about the modelling life and snowboarding!
Nice work!

Very, very cool and natural video. Been a fan for a while but now an even bigger fan. You obviously follow your passions which is inspirational!
Thanks Peter!

What a nice, happy, lovely, genuine human being you are.❤️👍✌️
Love your energy and positivity. All the best for the future.
In the spring I am going on a tour to my hometown on a gravel bike
The world needs more people like you, makes me happy to know your able to pass on your positive mental attitude to another generation.

You had me a Master & Margarita! I loved that book. Maybe time to read it again.
I think I started following you on social around the time you were a bike messenger. Did you ride Charge fixies some time back then? I bought a plug and when I was researching them I found you. Been here since!
I did!
An action packed life. I can sympathise with the "If i'm not good at it, i don't want to waste time doing it"
I’ve been watching your channel about a year. And just saw this. This is really good. Interesting.
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
So nice to find a fresh, genuine person who is not all ego-driven. Well done!
Thanks!
As a new-ish subscriber I’m grateful for this video! You have always seemed down to earth to me but I especially respect it now knowing you’re such a badass. Thanks for making quarantine way more tolerable!

You are an awesome fire cracker! Enjoying the cycle vids...especially the wild swimming one which has prompted me to seek out that lake/river!
Great Vid, Juliet! Thank you!
Loved this video Juliet, and I have to say.... I'm addicted to Ru Pauls Drag Race too! My question is... What's next for Juliet!?
Love it, great video, love your enthusiasm and honesty.
Great video - and I second your book choice of The Master and Margarita!

Well, that was heaps of fun! Thanks for sharing those bits about your life! :)
