Hey that's pretty cool that you and Dave adopted your daughter I never knew that that totally makes me respect this channel even more so. I only say that because I was adopted to and I know that adoptive parents have the biggest hearts and your daughters totally lucky to have parents that are into snowboarding, cycling, BMX, and skateboarding just saying great channel by the way and God bless you two the world needs more people like you 2.

Great video! And I also want to thank you. I have spent the last 5 months working from home, barely leaving the house, and using youtube videos of cycling / MTB as background noise. I only found your channel a couple of days ago, and the three I watched today (including this one) were finally the catalyst that I needed, which no other vlogger had yet been able to provide. I dug my bike out of the shed this afternoon, and, for the first time in about 12 years, actually went for a ride! Not far (about 12 miles) but I did reach the ocean. And I feel great! Your enthusiasm is infectious.

It's awesome to see you can do all sorts of things. I love it! A bit like me. Except I still suck at cycling. But people always told me stick to one trade, but I'm just too curious for that. At 41 I picked up playing cello next to piano & guitar and trying to be a triathlete. And I still think it's amazing you adopted that lovely girl. As an adoptee I appreciate this! ❤️
The world needs more people like you, makes me happy to know your able to pass on your positive mental attitude to another generation.

Love this video! I don't drink or smoke my only 2 vices are...cycling and reading. Where I come from was not accepted that an unmarried person adopt, I always wanted because I can have my own, now 100 years later in a more civilizated country but already to old for kids. Same. IVF was sheer hell. We ended up adopting two boys from Kazakhstan in 2003.

Amazing biography!! It blows me away often when someone who I stumble across on RUclips while tracking my variety of life’s interests does a background video and I get to understand the insane level of conviction people such as yourself put into the lifestyle that from the short glimpses we see on a video seem so …..”perfect”. The under story always is that it is never an easy road to greatness, it is always the endless hard work and sacrifices that get any of us above the “ordinary” non appealing un videoed lifestyles most of us live out our lives at.
For me as an artist for the last 45 years that I’ve been counting it is hearing of the “real path to achievement “ that helps me to find the motivation to keep at it, to keep producing, to keep pushing myself even against the forces of nature’s aging erosion of strength. It is the words and actions of champions such as yourself that raises the bar for my own journey. To others I may be just an old man on a bike, or an old skier, or some burnt out ancient woodcarver dude, but I am the champion of my story, as you in yours. Thank you for your hard work and sharing it with us!!!

Moved to Devon. When my daughter's godparents moved from Greenwich to Devon she was unconsoleable. Turns out she thought we'd said they'd gone to Heaven. Unlike you, though I don't mind being crap at stuff. I was good at one thing - being a musician - so I just accept that as long as I'm getting better at something, it doesn't matter what the actual skill level is (as long as it's making progress). Really nice to hear about your life so far.
Im really inpressed you can play all them instruments, I tryed learning the acoustic guitar its far more difficult than people think..

What is your favorite kind of riding right now? I'm mostly an Enduro mtb rider but I also like road cycling and have recently begun gravel riding. I agree with what you said in a previous video that different types of cycling compliment each other.

I like the Lightning Seeds! I first heard them on the 'Clueless' soundtrack and later picked up one of their albums. Very cool among your impressive repertoire of talents! I love the metal too. Ministry and Helmet were staples to get me pumped up in my bike racing days of yore.

we have in common: bikes, heavy metal and Rupaul's drag race. My interest in Rupaul's Drag Race had its limits. I didn't watch season 11 or 12. I love Avatar, and I wish Cripper had not retired & dispersed. In 1984 (age 11), I declared Iron Maiden as my favorite band.
if you have a gopro style camera there is a guy on YT Adam Hugill who ties a selfie stick to the front of his frame and he can talk into it while cycling ans swivel it frontwards as needed ... save hand holding the phone? great video thank you
