      @@redheadsarenotdeadred4562 I do blame her attitude. It's exactly thinking people are monsters that turns them into monsters or makes them stay that way or get worse. All we do as a society is make things worse, we never actually heal or solve these kinds of things. We need to start having a healing attitude and watch things magically get better. Everyone is born an innocent baby, no one is born a monster. If we actually paid attention to what people experience in this life and in their formative years, if we actually tried to understand them instead of just blame and punish, we could prevent and heal so much heartache and destruction.

    This is actually very important testimony. It shows that the parents, James and Jennifer, care more about the horses than they do about their son. They don't care about the horses more than their son. Ethan is Jennifer's only child. The horses are the first thing they decided to sell when this tragedy unfolded. She decided to do this before they were even charged with involuntary manslaughter. Karen is so ridiculous and desperate to find evidence against these parents, while she shows sympathy for grossly negligent Shawn Hopkins! Shes letting Oxford High get away with their culpability.

      @@braindirt7499 I’m sure their attorneys told them to sell the horses immediately. I’m sure the attorney’s also told them there was a chance they would get charged and be in jail. The boarding cost over $1000 a month and that was for field board. Meaning they had to do more care of their horses than someone paying for full care board. So hopefully you can see how they would have to sell their horses. Plus they had to pay retainer fees for their attorney's. Note, their son has a public defender. I’m sure the prosecution has much more on them as we are only looking at the preliminary trial. If other charges get filed against the school or whoever that would be a totally separate case.

      This is a ridiculous statement-just because they had a hobby (a healthy hobby at that) of riding their horses, didn’t mean they didn’t spend day after day trying to get thru to him! So what if she took the training classes for an hour or so three times a week!! that’s no different that other moms who go to they gym for an hour or more everyday, then maybe also having other hobbies such as painting that take up a lot of time, on top of working. Moms need outlets to release stress and have fun also! There are THOUSANDS of kids right now as I’m typing this that live in MUCH worse circumstances than Ethan did, and they aren’t going to shoot up schools. So you can’t just automatically blame parents. For instance-I have a 14 yr old son and a 7 yr old son….my 14 yr old is also an introvert by nature and he enjoys playing his PlayStation games. But he’s not out there doing drugs, having sex, drinking alcohol etc. I’ve looked into therapy for him bc I do notice that he’s perfectly fine being alone. However, his teachers email me all the time and tell me he is amazing at school and very outgoing. He’s even in theatre class now which blows my mind. He makes straight A’s and is very smart. But by the time he gets off school, he’s ready to get on his game and talk to his friends on there while playing together. Now I also have hobbies that don’t include him. That doesn’t mean if he shot up a school that I should be jailed too!!you can’t change your childrens PERSONALITY. You can only love them and try to understand them. Now it would be different if he became hooked on drugs or something-at least I would know the reason behind the behavior, and we can get him off the drugs and he would be back to normal like all the other kids. But when we’re talking about our children and their kids personality and core, it’s hard to just “fix” that. Also, I keep seeing ppl say “if she made him go to therapy, it might have prevented this.” ……………
      That’s total B.S. Now of course therapy helps Many people. However there are also just as many as it doesnOR

      You are correct. It’s important to know that humans are free moral agents with the ability to choose; to make choices. The psychopath killer chose to murder his classmates. His parents may be revealed to be deficient in parenting skills, but the psychopath is responsible for his choice to bring a weapon to school and target innocent students. I support the death penalty as the psychopath has forfeited his right to live amongst humans. I support shooting him in the heart with his own gun. Yes, I know it’s severe but his hideous crime deserves a severe penalty. Lots of young men are raised in dysfunctional families; 99.9 % don’t take a tool of death to school and murder their classmates. I support 20 years in prison for both parents. It gives me no pleasure making these statements. I am weary living in a violent society. I thought America would repent and change after Sandy Hook- I was wrong.

    It seems to me the text the mom sent her after the shooting saying she wished there’d been warning signs was calculated. The mother knew she’d confided to her about Ethan not being normal and, most damagingly, had sent her the violent drawing he’d done on which he’d written, “The thoughts won’t stop. Help me.”. So mom was trying to say that she hadn’t considered it significant, so it wouldn’t look like she’d ignored warnings of issues that needed attention. I think she sent this woman a pic of the drawing to see what her reaction was, to get feedback about it to determine how seriously to take it.

He's going to prison but with these parents being charged it's setting a dangerous precident that will continue to be used in the least way if their convictions stand. These are usually family court issues and now they're trying to take it to a criminal level. And my point is they should have known but how many kids are neglected in some way when parents are having relationship issues and the kids get into trouble?? As a woman who worked with children and teens all her life, I see troubling signs in this teenage young man. I know when I was responsible for children in my home, everything after school was centered around the kids and their care. I checked their backpacks on a daily basis before and after school for homework, they had pencils, pens, paper, lunch for the day, etc. EVERY MORNING AND AFTERNOON. My kids were so used to it that they just simply handed me their backpacks in a line youngest to oldest. It was a routine. Now, that being said, I know not all parents do that and not doing that does not make you a bad parent. It is just food for thought to all the parents out there. Establishing a routine such as this not only gives you a chance to check twice a day what is going on in your kids lives but it also gives your children a sense that you took the time to check in on them and what they are taking to and bringing home from school each and every day. We made it a fun routine everyday and as we did it, their lunch that they packed themselves that morning went into the backpack. When I say, "I checked the backpack." I physically looked in it and rummaged through it, LITTERALLY! EVERY COMPARTMENT. If you think about it, it only takes 3-5 minutes each time and it puts the kids on notice in a fun way that you know what is in the backpack.

    I know Ethan did an awful thing and I don't condone it. But as a mom, I hope his grandparents have had a chance to hug him and remind him that he's loved. Because if his selfish narcissistic parents had taken even a Day out of their lives to show him they cared, he probably would have never done this. And I am not defending him. He made a huge huge disturbing error and it cost lives. I just feel for him as a mom... They cared more about putting cream on a horse's legs than hugging their son and getting him into therapy. And that's really sad for Ethan.

    Ethan's parents had more concern about their horses than they had for Ethan, and it was likely that way since Ethan started elementary school. What a pair they are! They could pay up to $5,000.00 more or less for two horses, and around $400.00 each to board them at a horse farm, and take riding lessens, but would not pay any money to get Ethan professional mental health care. They both knew Ethan had mental health issues, because the mother said her son was "weird."
    I live approximately 5 to 8 miles away from Oxford High School northeast of my home, and approximately the same distance away from the Crumbly home. What in hell were they thinking, that they thought illegally purchasing their son a hand gun would fix all of Ethan's problems? Then after the shootings took place, all they thought about was fleeing the state and leaving Ethan to face the consequences of his actions without their support.

    • @pisachanation414
      @pisachanation414 Год назад +2

      When Ethan's parents were caught in a warehouse/art studio near Detroit, they had purchased four new smart phones, had $4,000.00 in cash on them, with approximately another $2,000.00 available to them on their credit cards. The had purchased a new mattress at some point that day, that was delivered to the warehouse, and also bought a bottle of Vodka and a container of Orange Juice. If that wasn't preparing to leave the state, then I don't know what is! They both deserve to spend time in prison, on 4 counts each of involuntary manslaughter. I don't know if there are other charges against them, but knowing Sheriff Michael Bouchard's law enforcement career here, there will be other charges as well.

      1. they have a witness that says the mother called her kid weird, thus knowing he was off and not as a normal kid. 2. that she had the time and money to seek services and were neglectful.
      The day the school asked them to take him home, she said she cannot miss work and at times did not answer the calls from the school. The father who was a door dash driver also said he cannot miss work. They are building the case to show that the kid had issues and were neglectful and the mother did nothing to help him. Think like if a kid has a sickness and the parent does not take the kid to the doctor and they have a fever, and a severe rash and parents just go about the daily events. Send the kid to school. The school tries to get the parents on the phone and asks them to get the kid. Now, the kid is then very ill, and a doctor sees them and claims the kid could have been treated, but the parents ignored the symptoms. You can bet charges and neglect will be filed.

    The dad was more interested in putting ointment on his horse -- ointment that the horse boarder could have put on -- then spending the afternoon looking for a therapist for his son. Same goes for the mom. She was wanting to get to that lesson in the afternoon rather than rearranging her schedule to do something positive and helpful for her son. These parents won't be able to say that they didn't have enough money for therapy because boarding the horse was already $400, and I don't know if that was for just one horse or multiple horses, plus they were paying for lessons and riding gear and more! If the mother came out there three times a week after work, she probably barely spoke two words to her son once she got home and got cleaned up etc. He would have had to do homework then go to bed.
