When talking about Dust films making sense well that's relative. But I agree this one certainly made more sense. Scary, funny, ridiculous. What's not to like.
It's awesome that you're bringing the older creations to RUclips. I clicked on this thinking it was a continuation of the original. I love everything you do.
This was originally uploaded on TheCGBros RUclips channel in 2016. I’ve noticed this happening a lot, videos I’ve seen years ago popping up again as if they’ve just been created; honestly not sure how I feel about it.
It is already suspicious, if a channel does not mention the release date or provide any link to the original or its creators. The trailer for this film was released by *The 2D Workshop* 9 years ago.
I refuse to be like others and compare it to any other movie because it's original, clever and nothing like anything I've ever seen before. Absolutely 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! This was a surprise from start to finish and I was captivated by the little buggers. This should get you an animation contract with a big name company and I for one am going to say that I saw you 'back when.' Thank you guys, for a truly ripping adventure!
@@itoibo4208 that's.... well that's as may be but I feel like there is a whole back-story missing here, with perhaps some important ontol0gical questions entailed therein. I mean who made those space ships? Are these wee toonicators the equivalent of Douglas Adams' "advanced party" of hair dressers and telephone cleaners? Or have the Predators® got bored with their acid-drooling, Alien®, sporting prey?
I just watched Toonocalypse, and I have to say, it absolutely blew me away. The way it blends live-action with both 2D and 3D animation is nothing short of brilliant. At first, the Toons feel so whimsical and charming-it’s almost impossible not to smile watching them interact with the world. The animation style fits perfectly, making these cartoon characters feel like a natural (and oddly delightful) part of our reality. But as the story unfolds, that charm takes on an eerie undertone. The gradual shift from lighthearted fun to something far darker is done so effectively that it left me on edge. By the time the chilling ending hit, I was completely floored. It’s one of those rare films where you sit there for a while afterward, trying to process what you just saw. Toonocalypse is such a creative and unforgettable experience. It’s a perfect mix of innovation, heart, and dread, and it left a lasting impression on me. I can’t recommend it enough!
I like the idea that an alienrace comes and appears to be cute and adorable and all people gonna love them before they grow to adults xD its really great stuff xD
Superb. I almost didn't warch all of the clip. Then I found that I was captivated by the story. The initial fear and then acceptance. The subsequent turning of the toons into parasitic monsters was a nice twist. The production values are top notch.
Nice! Very original and creative. 👏 I assume this was a Throwback Thursday video (aka a rebroadcast) but I hadn’t seen it before so I appreciate the rebroadcast.
I'm absolutely blown away by this; funny, creative, scary, and silly, all perfectly blended into an improbable tale!
Agreed. All this is so rare these days. Fortunately there's channels like Dust. And let us not forget The Power Of The Shorts!
like a mashup of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Cloverfield
100%
Was just about to write "A cartoonish Cloverfield" haha
👆
I hate coming into comments, but I had to say you 100% nailed it.
Yes, yes!
I'm often disappointed by the scripts of these short films, but I have to admit that this one is the best I've seen in years!
Wonderful script!
100% agree. There are so many great ideas here. Hopefully we get to see more from this team!
Pretty good acting too!
This felt like it could so easily have been a Doctor Who episode.
Doctor who now??
It was. The Power of Three.
There's also some sort of toon episode in the next season.
Finally, a Dust film that makes sense.
When talking about Dust films making sense well that's relative. But I agree this one certainly made more sense. Scary, funny, ridiculous. What's not to like.
Remember: Responsible pet owners get their toons spade or neutered.
Spayed.
@@eightbitguru Nah, you hit 'em with a spade to neutralize 'em...
@@eightbitguruthey said what they meant
He doesn't even pay rent... that's so British humor as it's best, hilarious. One of my top 3 short on Dust for this year😂👍👍
Creative, reminds me of Gremlins. I like that its a bit longer than most shorts and has something of a conclusion.

The girl making out with the toon on the couch just killed me. Every party has one of those scenes. LOL
This would make a great full length movie. That was AWESOME!

thank you, that's really useful to know
I'm not finding it on their channel? what's it called?
I also think it’s suspect how the post on TheCGBros gives credit to two people, where now it’s only the one.
felt like i had already seen part of this before.

I enjoyed it, but if you did not know the ending by 1:38, then you should have known the end by 2:24

Beware of intergalactic toons bearing adorable smiles.
That was EXCELLENT! Congratulations to the creators and to Dust for sharing.
This is perhaps one of the funniest DUST short flicks ever, haha
dude this is an old video that I remember from years back ,,,, still good
This was surprisingly very interesting! This could either be turned into a TV series or a new videogame premise.
Omg at the end when David was trying to get close and he was like get away from me 😂

I recommend that you find and read a book called “Quozl” (1989), by Alan Dean Foster. It has a premise that you should find enjoyable.
lol, what an invasion. Somebody get "The Dip."
They loved their toons ❤
I was just thinking of this odd but intriguing short. Thanks for bringing back the wth did I just watch? 😂
Could see this being an episode of Love, Death, and Robots. Great job team!
Thanks for having CC enabled
Truly original idea.
Utterly engaging and original. Clever and endearing. This spaceships looked too ominous to be cute! Great job, people!
District 9 meets Doctor Who meets Cartoon Channel meets Cloverfield.

This was awesome! A real breath of fresh air for sci fi shorts

Omg right? Same here. I almost didn't but I'm so glad I did. What a delightful surprise!
This is how Toonworld in Yu-Gi-Oh started! Trapping them in the game was how that outbreak was controlled!
Really well done. It definitely takes a turn that was expected & unexpected at the same time. I enjoyed this and hope the creators make more.
Thank you!!!
Really creative short film!
Desgarradoramente original, me gustó.
That was all kinds of cool. Bravo!
Going to have nightmares after watching that but it was worth it. Great stuff.
