- So I have this Nissan Murano it was a 2009 and the rear liftgate wouldn’t work The first thing I should’ve done was scan it but I left part of my scanner in a customers car the day before so I didn’t have that available to me and I didn’t figure that would help me at all but it just ended up having codes in it so I reset it and then the liftgate worked. But I thought the video was super informative and it shows you how to check your pressure switches to make sure they are working and also what I did to check the motor itself to make sure it was functioning I also show you some other things you can check even if you do not have a power probe like me or know how to use a multi meter . I realize this is video was posted a while ago but I’m wondering if you are still working on Nissans. I’m trying to help out a coworker who’s lift gate will not open. I checked all the fuses and they all seem to be fine. Will any code reader be able to reset the lift gate?
I have a 2015 Murano, rear hatch failed to open, Nissan replaced the actuators/pistons, 2500, 15months later , same thing, won't open , constant tone while driving. Nissan wants to replace parts again, Ext warranty called foul ball believe its something else. Could this be the BCM?
2010 Rogue lift gate stopped working....ladies fessed up to overloaded the trunk then forcing the hatch closed....after countless utube videos and ridiculous dealer estimates I picked up an actuator at a scrap yard $15....installed it ...fixed. Broken for 2 years cause I refused to pay stupid estimates from " professionals"

Hi there, I'm looking for an automatic door closer switch for my 2012 Nissan Murano. I've spent a lot of time researching the correct term for that switch. After watching your video (very impressive) you finally named it. Now, it's to find the correct part number for it to order it from somewhere. After, the car is a little old, but still in good condition.

Anyone know how to fix a 2007 Nissan Maranno tailgate that won't open? I can physically open it from the inside the handle is also broken but it has a little leaver I can use to open it but the outside button isn't working.
I have a 2015 Nissan pathfinder….it won’t do anything. I checked fuse …disconnected the battery …checked the power door switch…nothing worked…any ideas?
Your video helped me by showing that there was a power door on/off switch. My inside trunk button on gate wasn't working, but the button on the dash and outside button was. Thanks for sharing
Similar issue on my 2011 LE. I checked the 30amp fuse in the engine compartment, and it was good. Removed and reseated, but did not resolve the issue. I then removed, checked and reseated the 10a fuses (positions #3 and #6) within the passenger compartment (lower left drivers side). Both were good, but after removing/reseating, the liftgate began to work again. Hope this helps someone.

Hey, how do you reset/erase the codes for the lift gate? I have 2006 murano and you can hear it click when you puah the button but doesnt open.
I reset mine with the scanner. But it does not sound like yours needs to be reset it sounds like it’s either hung up or you have a broken component inside liftgate sorry Kyle I wish I had better news for you but it does come apart pretty easy
Thx for the very good video. For me, the best part was the glimpse of the lock from inside (2:30). Unfortunately, mine does not move. I can't move anything in any direction. Must have failed in the middle of operation. I wish I could get a better look at how that mechanism operates. Keep up good work.
I removed 4 fuses which maybe were involved. When I put them back, it worked.
How did the dealership reset the lift gate function after the battery replacement?
So, I transported a sofa for a friend and could not close my hatch all the way. Now, after closing the hatch when I was done, the hatch will not open. I’ve tried using the safety latch from the inside and still no luck. Any idea on how to fix this? The power works in it. I can hear it locking when I lock the doors, and hear it unlock as well. The safety latch moves freely, but doesn’t engage whatever mechanism inside the latch to open it. Please help!
It is a 2009 rogue SL awd, just in case that info is needed
My suspicion is is that somehow the lock just got latched incorrectly.
I hardly doubt there’s anything actually wrong with it but it’s probably going to be necessary to Remove the trim plastic from inside the vehicle then get the latch to actually work…. I doubt it’s broken I don’t know how to explain it over text message but something got jammed somehow

It sounds like it just came on clipped, From the holder probably just need to take off the panels that are underneath there they generally hold on by 7 to 8 mm screws can’t say for sure though

2015 Murano Platinum power lift gate abruptly stopped moving. Unlatches from the front switch, lift-gate switch, and fob, but no motion. Fuses all intact. Light on the rear button is on. Easily raised and lowered by hand. Not sure what check first.
I have a 2015 Murano and it lifts but the powergate slowly drops. I suspect the problem is weak shocks? I’ve been hit in the head so many times I’m fed up and may change from power to no power. Having never done it I suspect there are parts I’ll need to swap out. How do I know what strength of shock to purchase etc. Any help would be a bonus. Signed Sore head in Ottawa Canada! 🤟🏻
Hey Brian can you just ask for the ones for your vehicle at the part store they will give you exactly what you need they’re generally $30-$40 apiece and you do need to replace both of them.
I’m certain from your story that your gas struts are defective
There called liftgate struts or shocks either way they’ll be able to find them for you most parts stores will have them in stock and readily available.

Mine won't open manually I did the reset it tried too open automatically but it didn't open and the codes came back on
Hello Omar. Regretfully I’m not super versed in these vehicles so it’s probably not in my best interest to give you advice but more than likely your Latch is defective since you said that it sounded like it wanted to open

Good afternoon Morgan even though you may have something going on with your motor it is a possibility that you have bad gas struts on the latch itself you should look into replacing them the gas shocks/struts are about $20 apiece and when they were out your liftgate will not stay open. Resetting the codes will not change that. And I can’t say for certain but I believe you have to have a scanner to reset the codes I work on so many different cars it is a possibility that you could reset the codes by disconnecting the battery and holding the positive and negative together for 5 to 15 minutes with like a zip tie or something and that could reset the codes for you. But I can’t say for certain because your make and model and also people of been really crappy to me lately and I’m worried about getting bad feedback from giving advice that I’m not certain of sorry wish I could be of more help
I have a 2017 Nissan murano platinum and the lift gate opens about a foot then stops and closes. I caught it before it closed and tried to open and it was stuck. I checked to fuse and it looked fine I also checked the button in the glove box. It will not open manually. It's just stuck. Any ideas?

There is a reset through a scanner that could quite possibly take care of that problem. I did some research during the time I was doing this video and it seem like there was quite a few people that describes how to reset it but I honestly can’t remember sorry I wish I could be of more help have a great day and the best of luck
My 2005 Nissan Murano with a stuck lift gate closed. I've had to replace the car battery n alternator. I've changed fuses under hood. Before changing the battery had issues with gate n did the panel on inside gate to open it. For a while now haven't been able to open the gate. Any ideas??? Thanks 🙏

I have a 2009 Nissan Marano Ie awd I put it in drive or reverse and it does not move at allBut when I have it in park for me through it goes up to three on the dashboard but that’s it
over a year with this thing off and didnt even know there was a switch for it. everything nissan did with this car did it wrong if you are going to copy all the features my E39 had since the 90s might as well do it right.
My kid close the liftgate and there was an umbrella at the Edge and now it's stuck it doesn't open no more I don't know what to do to open the trunk

I have a 15 murano were it doesnt open and I have replaced the battery and it still does it the only thing I have been doing so far to keep it working it unplug the battery and plug it back any. Anything I should be looking at?
2017 murano. Fuses are good. Lift gate will not operate under any conditions using any of the switches. Makes constant buzzing sound when driving with concierge buttons on.

I needed to know how to get the button on the rear door to work. the door opens and closes from the key fob, the button under the dash on the drivers side and the button near the license plate. I saw how you got the switch out with the little pry tool. but not how it was tested. great help though.

Mine tried to close on me at the store. Then it opened on its own when I open my driver's door. When I got home, it opened for me, but then closed. When I push the button it opens 2centimeters and closes. Ugh

What if its the wire harness?
Well if you have a bad wiring harness you can always cut the wires and connect them directly together.
If it’s a plug that goes into a component generally you can make your own plug and just plug the Wires directly on the component I hope that information is helpful

Clay, I have this exact situation, 2 days ago everything just regarding the liftgate just stopped. I pulled the cover on the gate but the lever to manually manipulate the latch is stuck......Any other thoughts?
I also noticed the rear tailgate lights will not turn on. I did switch out the 30 amp fuse up front but i dont have a fuse checker
All that work when all you needed to do was clear codes. Damaged wiring now, too. Nice job. :)
Instead of hacking into the wiring just back-probe the connectors. No damage.
