    That is simply unbelieveable! Everytime I think you can't get better than you already are, you make a drawing that sets the bar even higher! And with that, my respect becomes even greater! And that music is just so epic!

    I really like the way you draw in Photoshop! The Linework was always my least favorite part of painting in photoshop (because it never looked really smooth and clean). But with those rough lines everything looks so natural.
    I think I'll try it out soon. You're a huge idol of mine :).

    Hello from Austria (No kangaroos, but mountains)
    This is an exceptionally good artwork :)
    I also wanted to say, thanks for being an inspiration to me.
    I've been rejected from art school, because I'm mostly blind on one eye and they thought I wasn't able to do good perspective drawings etc. That was a huge disapointment for me, but thanks to your art tips and drawings I was able to continue on and now I'm at a school that's even pickier about their students.
    Keep up the amazing work!

    The more I see your work with layers, the more I realize how helpful it is to focus on making each part work better with the others. I feel for myself that it gets hard to see which layer is handling what part of the artwork. I feel I'd be making mistakes there.

    Hi Aaron. Great stuff. I bought some of your animation lessons and they are AWESOME!
    I have a question/suggestion for you. I've recently downloaded Krita, which is an opensource free "photoshop" that now has a timeline and onion skin, almost like TVPaint.Have you ever tried it?
    I think it would be very interesting if you could make a review comparing these two softwares, checking what advantages from TVPaint are you missing in krita etc.
    Thanks a lot!

  • @xxcarolynaxx

    Aaron I have a question. Do you use brushes that come with Photoshop or do you use only custom brushes? I'm new to all this and I find the brushes that come with PS to look little bit "fake", not very real. Do I have to download some custom brushes to be able to achieve similar look? Maybe you can reccomend a specific type/set of brushes?

    While this is a beautiful painting, it's technically incorrect. Muskox do not face predators this way. (I spent a decade in Alaska and studied them). This is not an accurate painting. Sorry

    • @AaronBlaiseArt
      @AaronBlaiseArt  8 лет назад +24

      +LynneMarieStudios You're right! This is not technically accurate to how Musk Ox defend themselves. Thank you for pointing it out! They actually bunch together into a defensive circle with young herded near their mothers or inside the circle. They will also form a tight line if the threat is a single wolf coming from one direction. I too have observed Musk Ox in Alaska. In this case I decided to take artistic license and arrange the Musk Ox in a way that I felt was more compositionally pleasing.

      +LynneMarieStudios Wow, really? I grew up in Alaska and would not have had the webos to say what you did, this artist is amazing.

      Yes, it is why they were wiped out by hunters in the early 1900's. We had to import them from Europe to replenish the herd. I love your work. I just noticed it because they are my favorite animal. :)

    • @destructionbay9733
      @destructionbay9733 8 лет назад

      Jeff s
      Yes, you are right. I didn't think I was using "webos," but I love this animal. I have studied it a lot, and this painting struck me as beautiful but technically inaccurate. :)

    • @destructionbay9733
      @destructionbay9733 8 лет назад

      The Art of Aaron Blaise
      The only chance predators have against them is to "spook" the herd and chase them out of the circle. It's tough to do, but it can be done. They protect their young and weak by circling them and using their horns to jab at wolves and bear.
