    Sadly I'm cutting out the Naturalist part of the video since Rockstar copyrighted it. And I don't want my entire video getting copyrighted for a 30 second clip. So if you notice a weird gap between Rockstar not fixing bugs and the bounty hunter update thats why. To sum up that part though Rockstar didn't properly update the game for 7 months then randomly added the Naturalist role as an update. Which most players including myself found dissapointing. Hopefully you guys can understand why I'm deciding to remove it and most importantly can still enjoy the video without it

Then leave in five seconds you failed. I’ve only been able to complete like one or two… so I can’t get any bonuses for doing them.

      Bro I'm sitting here looking thru comments and you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm sitting here mad as shit just thinking the lack of old west games. RDR2 releases and its a masterpiece. With all the content in the story mode, expectations are high from the jump, But when it launched in a beta I knew it was gonna be trouble. I didnt play it till sometime in the pandemic. It was a load of fun with my buddies, but after completing all the legendary bounties and buying mostly everything in the store, I didnt feel the need to play it again. But just thinking of if they just added actual content to the game and didnt stop, I probably would never stop playing it.

      Back then I was so hoping we would've atleast gotten properties before they abandoned the game but no that didnt happen unfortunately. I also wish we had bank and train heists but instead we got some half-assed shit. Considering how much banks there are and how there locked. The 3 jewel robberies we got shouldve had a similar overlay to GTA5 heists with planning/prepping all that stuff, much better pays, more AI. Perhaps with even a collector stand of the 3 jewels in your moonshiner shack. Would've been much cooler less dissapointing.

      @1s3ngr1m Год назад +4

      I wouldn't be so sure about it. Yes, they will make lots of cash in the beginning...but i believe it will not play out like the would like it. Games like GTA5 and RDR2 are incredible expensive to make, so satisfying the consumer base means making the next installment bigger, better, fancier and specs-hungry. Most players will only afford next-gen consoles so much "better" is not to be expected. Players will soon realise how "just another installment" it will be and drop it even faster as soon as DLCs begin to dwindle. And if than something happens like the modder situation in GTAO, GTA6 will simply fade.

  • @requiemagent3014
    @requiemagent3014 Год назад +776

    The biggest problem with RDO is that it was never "at it's prime" or has "peaked". During it's entire lifespan it was always "getting there" with rockstar not knowing how to handle it. Even after all the updates the game was still mostly empty. Where are the properties and heists? GTAO was only really complete after the heist update. Which took them years. Rockstar doesn't know how to handle any online mode.

    For me, the biggest problem is not finishing what was started, online has a lot of features that should have been put in story mode. Small stuff like removing the secondary holsters, but looking back the story mode wasn’t even done yet, there should’ve been an update, let us go back to Guarma, put in deleted content. Then put in the good things from Online. I didn’t play online much, but when I did, I couldn’t have fun because you couldn’t achieve anything. I only played the game because; “Wow! Full fledged gun spinning? That’s awesome!” Then I got it and I never played again because I couldn’t even do it as Arthur so who cares.

When I first got into rdo soon after I struggled so much to the point where I just decided to drop 5 or 10 dollars for some gold bars so I could get a bounty license and some drip. I started having fun just doing bounties so I could get more money for clothes and guns but the world felt so empty and underdeveloped compared to how it is in the story. Most towns were filled with griefers and my game would crash a lot, and I play on a ps5. I think I’m around level 40 now but I haven’t played in a couple months because I was tired of grinding trader. The prestigious bounty hunter licence is not required for the bounty wagon. It unlocks for purchase at level 10 of the regular bounty hunter role.
      This part of the monetization seems to be pretty similar between RDO and GTAO. Most content has has steep paywalls that require a lot of grinding through the low payout content available to new players, tempting them to drop real money in order to "get started".

I took a break to play another game, but I'm back into it now. I love loading up the game, checking the Daily Challenges, just riding around hunting and collecting and seeing the beautiful world. I have a lot of pressures and stresses in my real-world life, I don't need to be overly ambitious and big-goal-focused in my game life. Just relaxing in a beautiful world is enough for me to have a good time.
      However, I still see so many gaps, where I could enjoy it more. I would love to be able to sell horses, I would love to have a bit of property, I would honestly love to be able to have a second character without having to delete my first. I'd love more NPCs in the world, to make it more vibrant. There are also the dumb glitches that make it feel a little unloved and neglected. But overall, the game is so beautiful and relaxing and meets a need for me.

Difference being that John liked that kind of life, Jack was more like a scholar, but dragged into it by betrayal/revenge. Will be interesting to see what they do with RDR3, though I think going further back would probably be cooler for the gameplay. Make it at the peak of gunslingers, let you have a little gang, let you choose who to bring on missions and where to rob etc. Would be hard to make the story as cool as the first 2, but I also didn't think they could improve on RDR and they 10000x it with RDR2 I can hope.

    I've only started playing RDO because my cousin wanted someone to play with. Also I've gotten every single story achievement and all that's left are online ones...
    It was utter disappointment. I ran into bugs the very first day I started playing. One of the most infuriating bugs was the stable glitch. For some players going into the stables at all can softlock your game. You have to restart completely.
    I tried call to Arms. Incredible amount of bugs. Either the enemies would stop spawning all together, or only 2 at a time on my teamate every 15s. Only one that seemed to work for me was Fort Mercer.
    I don't mind the gameplay. It's just the bugs that kill me. And I've only explored a handful of the game too. Imagine all the bugs I haven't had simply because I haven't explored. For a 5 year old game, you'd think important bugs would be fixed. Guess not.
    edit: new bugs found. There's a bug with the wilderness camp where you'll get stuck in an infinite loading screen when using sometimes.
    There's a bug with the legendary animal missions in naturalist where you are spawned in and can hear people, ambience, etc. but an infinite loading screen is overlaying that. I had to pull up the menu and navigate it blindy to online and rejoin a different session...
    There's a bug when selling and delivering goods where the rest of the raiders won't spawn...

    • @beelzebuth2479
      @beelzebuth2479 Год назад +2

      They gave up, if anything they just added new bugs on top of the old ones, never took time to correct them or even acknowledge they exist.

    It's one of the strongest single player games of all time and people only care that the online experience isn't top notch.

    I put just over 2k hours into RDO. Joined right after frontier pursuits but just before trader released.
    I met a group of fun friends and we'd be on every night. From griefing, to battling posses, to doing trade runs, robbing trade wagons or moonshine, it was a helluva time. I miss it so much. Those memories just make me want to go back to a time when I was actually having fun.

    I litterally met a guy that teleported in front of me, gave me loot, shot me, spawned a legendary alligator, and then spawned a horse and I just left with it. And then I did an archery tournament where some guy was hacking with explosive arrows.

    Imagine getting a western-themed online game and you can’t even rob banks or trains.

    i played red dead 2 the first time through properly in late 2021 on the ps4 and then got it on pc in like march 2022, played the game the second time though and doing even more side missions than the first time and was blown away by the detail.
    then i thought gotta try the online mode on my summer break from work and i played a good 2 weeks nothing but red dead online and was waiting for a new update as the latest one was like 6-7months old at the time. then they announced gta6 and discontinued major red dead online updates.
    it felt kinda bad because for the first time in months i had fun playing a game, gta online i had played that since 2013 and was bored as hell even though there were new updates basically every 6months and other games like fifa that i played are gambling simulators now so i only had red dead online to play. i played it daily for a few months if nothing else just to do a daily challenge but since november i have had nothing to play because feels like i'm wasting my time playing rdo because there is no new stuff coming out lol
    guess i'm just going to have to wait for gta6 then lol

    I remember playing up until moonshine update and coming back like a year later and being so disappointed that the only things to do were exactly the same a year ago

    i bought rdr when i didnt have my pc in July of 2019, and now i finally bought one, rockstar drops the game. this game will always one of my favorite games, if not my favorite. the aesthetics, visuals, and just the look of the game get me every single time. the immersive main storyline, not to mention the online one too. it’s a shame rockstar wants more money than to make a game that is full of potential; a true game that everyone and their mother talks about. i don’t play much, but this game always holds a place in my heart

    The very small update this past christmas was a lot of fun. Met a lot of new friends playing for the first time in awhile. such a shame they just abandoned it.

    This is quite sad because RDO is still going strong in terms of players. This year, red dead redemption 2 (and online) had high sales during discount season. When I wander around RDO, most players I see are below level 50, very rarely I see anyone in a lobby above level 50. At one point, the highest i've seen in a full lobby was 80. Pretty surreal
