Chorus:
They were crying when their sons left, God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope, he's never coming back
They were crying when their sons left, all young men must go
He's come so far to find the truth, he's never going home
#SystemOfADown #SoldierSide #Hypnotize #HeavyMetal #HardRock - Видеоклипы
This is probably the most underrated System of a Down song ever
Literally every song apart from Chop Suey, BYOB, Toxicity, Aerials, Lonely Day and maybe Spiders and Sugar is underrated
Tentative, Dreaming?
It just fucking dropped
Chop suey...Toxicity....BOYB..LONELY DAY..Victimized.Ariels
Spiders is pretty underrated in my opinion
LYRICS***
Dead man lying on the bottom of the grave
Wondering when savior comes is he gonna be saved
Maybe you're a sinner into your alternate life
Maybe you're a joker
Maybe you deserve to die
They were crying when their sons left
God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope he's never coming back
They were crying when their sons left
All young men must go
He's come so far to find the truth he's never going home
Young men standing on the top of their own graves
Wondering when Jesus comes are they gonna be saved
Cruelty to the winner, bishop tells the king his lies
Maybe you're a mourner
Maybe you deserve to die
They were crying when their sons left
God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope he's never coming back
They were crying when their sons left
All young men must go
He's come so far to find the truth he's never going home
Welcome to the soldier side
Where there's no one here but me
People all grow up to die
There is no one here but me
Welcome to the soldier side
Where there's no one here but me
People on the soldier side
There is no one here but me
That’s heavy
❤
You don't have to be a native English speaker to feel this song running through your veins. But if you understand ... tears in your eyes
Вас не обязательно быть армянином, что бы прочувствовать глубину этой музыки. Я надеюсь)
When you hear Soldier Side-Intro as first track in Mezmerize then you played the whole album, then continue to Hynotize, this song as the last track, the masterpiece feels complete. SOAD are genius.
Like a Concept Album between two albums.
Very cool of them to support. Russia isn't it? Very genius?
@@ColinMor-fj3qc they are Armenian
You mean Russia, our ally in two world wars? So crazy.
People complain about SOAD not getting together anymore but won't dedicate a minute to appreciate this master piece and it's precious message.
You're so right, Marcos!
Yeah I do complain about it. This master piece is there since 2006, almost 20 fucking years ago. It's a shame they can't just move on with their differences and be back, SOAD is one of the most influent and important bands out there, a lot happened since then and it's about time we have something
I remember being in the third grade, the son of a deployed soldier, and being plopped down in front of the TV with the news being blasted in my face. My mom would make me watch the news while she couldn't (in the mornings before school while she got my younger siblings ready). My job was to read a never ending list of names. Not just any names though, no... Names of all the soldiers that had died since the 'war on terror' had began. Basically I just had to read the names and make sure if my dads name came up, to tell mom. I knew why he was there. She came and got us from school the day the planes hit and made me watch that too. Now, she didn't tell me what the names meant, but I was a smart kid, and caught on almost immediately. Hard not to with all the different videos of humvee's being blown to smithereens being played every 30 seconds. This song reminds me of that list. The worst list I ever had to read. The list that only got longer. I had to have read thousands of names. Nobody but me... Still by the soldier's side.
Wow
Sorry for your lose

I love System of a Down partly cause they are so unique. I can't think of any band that sounds like them.
You know SOAD as soon as you hear them.
Linkin park sound similar to them.

I think System of a Down is up to something. These uploads have to mean something.

Maybe they are reuploading this as a hint to a comeback! As they did release 2 songs for their home country last year!
@@muncha8071 yeah that's exactly why these uploads have to mean something. Why are they suddenly uploading old songs? Especially mostly once that are a bit underrated?
I’m 21. I found Systsm of a Down 2-3 days ago but ever since I was young - I remember hearing Serj’s voice in some mix my aunt used to play and it just literally would touch my fucking soul. I can’t explain his voice was just so amazing. I spent my life trying to find out who the hell it was. So when I randomly decided to listen to System of a Down and I heard his voice? Been searching since I was like 4. Now I’m 21 and I’ve been found.
I listened to all their songs and I found them very very familiar, like I’ve heard all of them before. I’m 22 and I don’t remember that I’ve ever listened to System of a Down..
You have been found.
Welcome brother =)
Чёрт возьми, я понимаю) Хоть и знал про них, но металл не любил. Рэп ушёл на третий план))
Теперь SoaD навсегда❤💙🧡
@@methyumontgomeryI-E-A-I-A-O Its Still SOAD, Take a listen
Almost 15 years ago i remember my cousin bought this album. We used to stay up past midnight on school days, listening and singing along to it on repeat. One of my favorite memories as a teen. SOAD FOREVER🤘
Welcome to the SOLDIER SIDE- Serj’s high note so beautiful
This is daron malakian's voice

This is being released on the bands own Channel which means they probably just finished the term limits of their original Record contract and now have the masters. Excellent
Good catch! The recent uploads weren't made for YT Music format
The limits were about 15 years? Wow

This song is really beautiful. One of the best SOAD tracks.
I never cry when I listen to songs, no matter how sad they are, but this song........ Every time I have heard this, I have cried. Everytime I think of this song, I cry. Beautiful SOAD, simply beautiful
They were crying when their sons left....all young men must go.....
The best thing about soad too is all there songs tell a story and each beat they make and every pitch they sing in each part just tells the story and heaviness of words

Like if you agree
I think this is the best closing track on any album. Such a powerful way to close out a streak of incredible albums.
The best SOAD song. Genuinely perfect. Melodic, rocky, and definitely insanely emotional.
This song break my heart everytime I listen to it.
It helped me to understand more about the cruelty of War.
It happens the same to me. I even had a nightmare about it. I still remember it. I'm lucky to live in Costa Rica.
The ending songs of both albums when put together have never made so much sense until now 😢
The lost feeling of listening to this while flying over Eastern Siberia on the way to Beijing in the late 2000s always sticks with me, those same chills come back even now.
Systems back at it again with official audios
No LMAO
I jumped from my seat as I thought they released a new song... 😆
Same....
I thought a new song.
Pretty sure its old
Good joke mate

No, my friends. this.. IS the most underrated song, Not just of system of a down, But of all 2000's music.
You got that right
Agree 100%
"War is where the Young and Stupid are tricked by the Old and bitter into killing each other." Michael Hollick- 2008
Never clicked so fast
this honestly has to be the SOAD song that has affected me the most. I may not have much connection to wars or the military but the imagery that this song brings up really puts it at the top of my list.
2:00 this part buried a hole in my heart
I remember listening to this album all the way through for the first time and getting chills when they finally reprised the intro from the beginning of Mesmerize. It felt like the perfect conclusion to an incredible album set. One of those things you wish you could go back again and experience for the first time again and again.
This song makes me think a lot about how i, as a young man myself, take a lot of aspect of life for granted. Here i am complaining about things not going how i want them to when there are young men my exact same age fighting on battlefields under the hellfire of a million bullets. Things that i am doing they can only wish they had time for. Peace and love to those fighting in war.
That’s beautiful dude…
Hi! You are the best band ever!
They sure are
yep
Ja mann
For sure
I've always marveled at how amazing this song is.
Every time I listen to system of a down I always think about my dead boyfriend😓😓 this was his favorite band! And he could play just like the drummer! May you ready in peace ALICK!😇😇😇
LETS GO MY FAVORITE SYSTEM SONG
one of my favorite songs
this is such a beautiful song. SOAD is so unique alot of their songs sound almost angelic. Definitely my fav band of all time
The soldier is lost, and requires your support. They stand before a hollow grave, screaming for the soul that is lost. They are lost, broken, forevermore. Do not abandon them in their time of need. To do so, is to break another heart... another soul. Stand up, stand strong, and be a guiding light.
Makes me when my childhood. God help us all
There is a lack of SOAD in the music world right now. And in the world in general. We need more, its tough out here without you guys.
Listening to this masterpiece on the way to my military base. I wish terror never existed
Daron's voice is so beautiful here

one of my favorite songs of all time
One of the greatest songs of all time.
This is the song and maybe the final song you hear when you go out in war.
They recruit more and more people to go out to war, but yet so many soldiers never return.
It's so sad that this song is so true and it's still so relevant. 🤧😭
This makes me feel so powerless against my fate but In a empowering way
Depressing but beautiful song 🔥
Man i have almost never felt like crying while listening to a song but this song is an exception, i was fighting my tears
the system is back. may God protect you. peace be with you ✌

probably my favorite band of all time... literally every single one of their songs is good
This song is just stupidly incredible! What a band and now so more relevant than ever. Class act.
No song from this band has made me cry until i heard this.
No better combination between voice, instruments and lyrics...Amazing!
This song is so sad it breaks my heart every time i listen to it. It's so powerful and so haunting... I love it
S.O.A.D. has too many masterpieces but this one is a the top of that level you just need to listen how they sing it. Definitely my favorite song of them
Just seen soad preform at the banc of California with KORN and it was the most beautiful experience I ever encountered. The voice of Serj and daron in this song is remarkable much love to this band who was my therapy as a child
My favourite SOAD song so far, lyrics, instru, how they sing,...so underrated song !
"War where the young and foolish are tricked by the old and bitter into killing each other. I was very young and very angry" - Niko Belic

Such a great track!!! 1 of SOAD's greatest tracks ever!!! So overlooked!!
Essa música diz muito sobre a guerra, sua solidão, sofrimento e morte fútil. É profunda. Clássico do Rock.
Pois é! E só sobra para os mais "fracos"! Muito sofrimento!
O lado do soldado que muitas vezes não que estar numa guerra feita por quem talvez nunca tenha pegado em uma arma

God is wearing black might be the most powerful lyrics a song could ever have been. The feel of sorrow and sadness it gives is so genuine
The first time I heard Mesmerize and Hyonotize I listened to them back to back, no idea about anything that was on them. When this chorus hit I about shit myself.
Love this whole album
This music was my life in high school.... I'm now a 31 year old mother and the music is still fucking relevant !
THE BEST SOAD SONG I SWEAR
Nostalgia is the happiest and most cruel feeling ever.
I can feel this song in every part of my being... the charged adrenaline, dopamine and serotonin release from this song leaves me vibrating, as I feel a passionate Braveheart war cry come up from my gut
