I spent five years in the hospital as a child with a chronic life threatening disease. The Make a wish foundation offered me a dream come true trip wherever I wanted. While I was fighting for my life everyone one I knew moved on. They all focused on their future, dreams and happiness. I made new friendships with other kids spending their last days in that place. I would walk in circles around the hematology floor and see them in their rooms. Over time, each room would be vacant, sanitized and given to the next poor soul. When I finally left, I told myself that I needed to see the world for them.
This song simply embodies everything I feel.

Edit: Feb 11, 2023, I haven't came to this song in about 3 years. I had did a lot of soul searching. I've found a passion in writing and I'm almost finished in college. Loneliness still creeps up and depression comes and goes but I don't let it defeat me. I cry and feel the feels and just move on. I'm in a better place mentally and this is without medication. Haven't took medication since 2015, the work was all on my own. Proud of me. And thanks to all who wished me a happy bday and came back to this day every year to do so. I am truly grateful to touch people hearts and inspired others to not give up. This world is truly Lonely but knowing that someone is feeling the same way as you, can make you feel less lonely. I send love to you all. Hope everyone is thriving and happy. ❤️

I think that this song is the most important song of my life. My dad used to put soad songs on the radio when we were travelling and definetely Lonely Day always was the one that I most enjoyed even not knowing the lyrics (I'm brazillian). Growing up and learning a little bit of english, I searched for the lonely day lyrics and I felt in love with all the felling put in this song, the guitar, the bass, Daron's incredible voice... i went through school with two learning disabilities my parents refused to let me get diagnosed, and i had no friends due to my struggles with social skills and it didn’t help that i was viewed as an idiot. i was always the “dumb kid” and teachers were ruthless when it came to humiliating me. other kids would always join in too, and i felt like an absolute outcast. eventually, my parents gave up on trying to teach me anything because i couldn’t understand and focused more on my brother who at the time had just got accepted into a really prestigious high class school. i was left basically alone for most of my childhood after that. i managed to make it out of such a dark point of my life thankfully, but those days still haunt me, and every time i hear this song i can’t help but be reminded of how things were back then. it’s hard to think about, but i love this song so much because it helps me feel understood.
I think I might have a few disabilities but I think my mom will do the same if I ask to get checked

There's a difference between being alone and being lonely. Loneliness is a perception that something is missing. Alone is solitude that can be treasured. I am often alone these days but there are some days, like on my birthday, where I feel like there should be someone there with me and there isn't. Those days are the loneliest days of my life. I don't mind being alone, but I hate being lonely.

I know the feeling. After so much time i quarantine me and my friends decided to meet up and I was so happy for like 15 minutes
After that I felt just a void. So empty.
This wasn't the only time I felt that void. It's always been there. Sometimes showing itself more sometimes showing itself less
Thing is I dont know what to do to fill the void
When I was in middle school noone talked to me and I felt lonely because I had no friends
Now that I am in high school and I have friends I feel lonely because I feel like no one really sees the real me and I have to put on a mask because they wont accept the real me.
Arguements at home don't really help either. They just make the void larger
Sometimes I feel like I just want to sit in a corner and cry. I feel the whole weight of the world crushing me and I just want to let go. Yet I can't. I can't cry and I never had the courage to slide the knife.
And even when I am with my best friends the void doesnt go away. Even when I tell myself that everything is alright it just isn't,
Guys is this some kind of phase or should I be worried about somting. It's not like I'm not feeling happiness anymore. On the contrary there are days that I feel like the most careless person in the world. In fact those are most of my days. But the ones that I feel empty are just so crushing. And everytime there is a fight at home the void shows itself and doesnt hide for days, hell, maybe even weeks. And it's crushing. I don.t want to live during these days, but I keep telling myself that it will eventually get better. That I am better off alive than sitting in a puddle of my own blood.
Also yes this might be a rant of sort, yes there will inevitabley be some edgy kids saying that noone cares and maybe they are right. Maybe noone does. But just writing this down, knowing that someone might see this and have an answer and might help me gives me hope and helps me move on.

@@dimitarmatanski3712 well done for writing that its a good thing you reached out👌🏼 i understand how you feel i feel the exact same way its like a chronic emptyness that never goes away when your young its commen to feel like this as you are tryin to find out where you fit in the world if you feel you need help maybe try find someome to confide in who can listen you, my advice would be dont panic at these feelings they do happen, sometimes we feel like as we are more intune with our feelings then most people we have a deeper connection to our selfs and emotioms and have more empathy not sure if this helps but amd i hope you are doin ok just relax try take time for your self figure out what you want out of life as sometimes the people we hang with dont fit into our way of thinking we can become isolated as a result of that anyway i hope you are ok keep your head up things will gwt better trust me
