Hey Peter! (Fellow Dutchy here btw) but I was wondering, how do you like those Tarantulas now a year later? I've just gotten a pair and after the first session they really dug into my heel/achilles tendon, to the point they cut into the skin. So yeah, gonna use a bit of tape for the next few times, till these shoes have been broken in properly. But yeah, Would love to see an update video on these shoes and whether or not you still like them after a years use.
yes! a common problem with climbing shoes actually. Personally i prefer to climb with socks, so i solve the issue that way. i bought these as my beginner shoes and they have held up great, used them 4x a week for about 9 months before i started to see serious wear and i replaced them after about a year
good question! its only half a size difference, but the shoes are SNUG! the first week they were so snug that i had to open the shoes up a few times to get through a bouldersession, but now that they are worn in thats not. the case anymore. Dont know if thats the shoes getting "loose" or my feet getting used to them. Overall they are still very snug in the toe-box, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. After coming from my daily shoes and putting these on, it takes a fewmin to settle in, but after that quite comfortable and still good support.
How long did they last before the rubber wore out? My sole rubber lasted 2 months (I go to the gym 3 times a week). They had a small defect in the detached sole and the brand replaced them with a new pair.

@@PeterDoesburg tnx! those are some good tips for me!
Thanks for making this, it was really useful for a beginner! I'm going to go for half a size down from my shoe size and break it in.
Nah bro, at my shop, the expert gave me a 42.5, and j usually wear 44.5.
It has to be way tighter
Thanks for making this video!
How did the fit change comparing to when they were new? You mentioned that your normal shoes size is 43 and you got these in 42.5
