I'm certainly a fan of GS footwear, mostly veg tan leathers. I consider boots such as the Diesel and Garrison as business casual or weekend out on the town boot. It's certainly not for outdoor play or working on a construction site type of footwear.

Thanks for the info. It would take a bit of editing but it would have been nice to see the thumbnail picture again while you were explaining the damage.

Even with the "used look" they still look tough!

This is exactly why I learned the hard way to appreciate roughout.

With all my boots that have all eyelets and no speed hooks I always leave the top two to three eyelets unlaced to put them on then lace them up, SPEED hooks are called speed hooks for a reason. Great that break in was relatively easy. This is a dressy business casual boot compared to the Diesel IMO. As per your friend’s damage to his pair that is just bad luck, sh*t happens. Veg Tan is always more prone to scuffs scrapes etc, takes longer to produce and is always the more expensive option compared to chrome or combinatiation tanned leathers. Better luck with your next purchase, beautiful pair of boots, good review on your experience with them.👍

I actually never liked the Garrison boot until I saw your review.

The damage has no effect on the boot itself. Bar the suedes or waxed flesh, any leather receiving that level of damage will scar in similar fashion. Badalassi Carlo already is one of the better quality veg tan boot leathers and favourites of many bespoke bootmakers. And for sizing, possibly those with a higher instep or possibly size 10 and above will find it difficult to slip on the boots. If you're 9 and under, you should be fine.

How can you talk for nearly 6 minutes and literally say next to nothing.

I learned a few things. They clean up well, they are hard to get on and off, and the leather is forgiving. Not to mention an actual video of this boot which I've been curious of. Maybe you didn't, but I did.
