@@warrengwonka2479 in her concerts where she didn't write the music, she has no music in front of her. Check out her performance of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, and you'll understand, probably.
This is quite possibly the greatest piece of contemporary music in my lifetime (and she's only 14). This kind of quality will endure and outlive the greatest works in all other popular genres (pop, rock jazz, etc.). Long live Emily Bear!
This is so touching! I am lost for words. Emily Bear, wow. I mean.. just wow! I just love your music, your skills. Truly amazing. This piece just blew me away.
This was fantastic. Emily is such a paragon in her field, I only wish more people could appreciate the brilliance of a composer like this. I am an an amateur pianist and when I see what emily has done I am just in awe. so naturally tallented. She definitely deserves all accolades for her work and genius. thank you emily
To the Bears: Please always just encourage and support Emily and never try to direct her in any particular direction. She is so excellent a player and composer. She is entering her teen years which can be really challenging for everyone, but always support her. Such a talent .. WOW.
One of the piano players, writers, arrangers, and performers of our times. Brilliant & Awesome! Sincerely, Tom. U.S. Army Vet/Fellow Musician/Performer/Writer/Etc! 🇺🇸🎹🐱🎸💝
I can't believe the thumbs down. She's great especially for her age. I'm a vet myself in the late 60's I would like to "THANK YOU" for Honor of the vets. "Semper Fi"
Bert, unfortunately there are far too many folks who get their kicks attempting to block a child's success. Very nasty parasites! YT should make them explain the dislike if they want it recorded. By the way, as an ex Navy airdale, your service to America is priceless. Thank you.
Emily is truly great and gets so much credit that she deserves but also I love the mom and Grand-mom as well, that more than anything want her to be happy and have values and ethics. Something wonderful for any child to grow up with that most kids haven't a clue about.
This peace show us again how great Emily is as pianist, composer and person. And it show us how fantastic the conductor and orchestra is. She is our Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, etc. We actually have, really and without doubt, a classical composer in our midst, when we all thought they no longer existed. Her jazz compositions are amazing. Her singing voice is also amazing. Check out her very recent videos where she sings with her music. Absolutely wonderful. And, as always, that grin just slays me!
This has been an Emily Bear morning….. cannot believe this child and her talent……plus such a sweet personality… what a stirring piece of music……… truly amazing and beautiful and poignant…..
Very impressive composition for a twelve or thirteen year old. It's so rare for there to be genuine child prodigies. Others to look out for, both a bit younger than Emily, are American jazz pianist Joey Alexander who emerged as a ten year old playing the most amazing jazz; and British pianist, violinist and composer Alma Deutscher, who wrote a piano sonata aged 6, an opera aged 7, a full length opera aged 10, violin concerto aged 9, piano concerto aged 10 plus plenty of other works. So we've got Emily, Joey and Alma all at the same time, which is pretty remarkable. Would be interesting if they got together some time to make music.
This is what its all about: she shows us how a perfect developed human is supposed to Be, Source in human form, a natural human, humble, peaceful, creative, she is the perfection in human flesh, humble and yet Divine. The personification of Love, Light and Joy, all Divine attributes our true , real heritage. She is music herself, when she plays there is no one there , only Presence. It flows gently , pure, untouchable.
Careful, now, she is only human, lol. No one is perfect, but I definitely agree with what you mean. She is an excellent example of what we are all capable of when we apply ourselves to the present moment.
I don't know what to say ,accept no body on earth is as gifted as her tears pour out of my eyes as soon as she starts to play, i can't express what I feel ,she's magical and an insperation, if you read these comments Emily thanks for the gift .
She shows us how to bring the Light that we all are into this human form, we all have it, but very few are yet aware of it. She does what brings her joy and happiness and shares it with us, what a gift and I wish more parents would be more aware in letting their children be who their really, truely are. Reflections of the Light.
Amazing Emily!!!! I have been following you since you were 6 and you still seem to produce over the top performances. I've followed you for so long I feel like part of your family. You can call me Grandpa Jim. Just keep grounded and stay humble because we and the world have an eye on you!
I close my eyes and get chills and tear up! I thank God for the talent and gift He has bestowed upon you and for sharing your music with the world. Truly you are the greatest contemporary elite musician! Thank you and let God bless you and all those around you...
After watching several videos of Emily Bear, from her first introduction on Ellen's show to now, she displays a gentle spirit, and one that has a God given talent at the keyboard and vocals. While her physical beauty is superior, her gentle spirit and grounding far exceeds her beauty. She is wonderful to look at, but her music reaches into your soul. I would think in the years to come she will be at the forefront of Pianists that effect the musical world. I am very happy to have stumbled upon this talent!!
can't believe myself I became addicted to your music, I have never played piano or been interested but since I saw coincidencely your video playing piano in your 6 years old I said she's great and will be famous like mozart Beethoven... thanks emily for every video you upload to share with us your talent and feelings.

Emily has written a fascinating variation on this piece for 25 pianos that can be found on RUclips. Emily has also written a solo piano variation of this tone poem.

This passionate welcome home to all Veterans is greatly appreciated. The thunderous applause and standing ovation were well deserved. Oddly, the other recording of this performance on RUclips is even richer and more spectacular than this recording, probably because it was from a different vantage point back in the "cheap" seats. This recording emphasizes Emily and the Steinway piano while the other one highlights what the Rockford Orchestra was playing. These recordings show the complexity and sophistication of the music that 13 year old Emily Bear wrote.

Autum Myst I understand she is indeed working in films now. I would love to see Emily and Alma improvising together, either on two pianos or on piano and violin,
Hey Warren, that is just what I thought. I came here during listening to Alma Deutschers great performances and I cannt wait to see and HEAR them together!
And to those who say there is no higher being please say to me how a person of 13 years old can think up , arrange and orchestrate this......... Gifted then to whom do we owe for this gift.
+65dirt Mozart was composing quality, classical music at eight. Bobby Fisher was the US chess champion at 13. The world has its geniuses and it's idiots, the latter of whom far outnumber the former. Be sure to give your particular god credit for them too:-)
As a composer, she's a really good melodist, and her knowledge of jazz harmony supports that gift very well. Take around 2:30 and 7:00 for example, she plays with augmented chords and chromatic mediant modulations -- very much in the film score idiom -- but she sprinkles in jazz harmonies as well, for example the G7#9 chords around 5:00. Also uses that brief staccato string ostinato very effectively to mark transitions between sections. The only thing I'll critique is that some of the transitions are a bit jarring or feel a bit unmotivated, as if she was concatenating very different ideas without much connecting material; however, the unity of the piece is restored a bit by restatement of main themes and harmonic ideas later in the piece. Also: she's THIRTEEN, for God's sake!!! And she knows how to orchestrate like Danny Elfman or John Williams!!! I've struggled so much with achieving balance in orchestration, and she just effortlessly uses the instruments and the orchestral choirs so so so well to make the music shine. Brava!!!
At least when you watch this video, you will understand what the piece is about and why in your view the transitions are choppy. it is consciously composed that way because it is a War piece. And Wars don't have smooth transitions. The Bravest Journey: Behind the scenes with Emily Bear ruclips.net/video/DVcAzgbrHHk/видео.html
