  • The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k is easily the highest bang for your buck you can get, even all of these years since it’s been released. The image quality is so good for how much you pay, but it does come with some drawbacks. Luckily designing a cinema rig to remedy any usability issues with the BMPCC 4k is pretty easy! This is how I like to build out a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k.

    Hi, just wanted to add a point towards the stabilization. Since a certain update there is gyroscope data stabilization available when using davinci resolve. Only huge issue is you have to set the focal length before shooting if you go with manual lenses. Also it gets rid of the rolling shutter, too.

    BMPCC 4k is amazing, best purchase I have ever done. For $1250 and they also give you davinci resolve? It was like a gift buying it 5 years ago.

      Yeah it's such a great investment to make, especially since it includes Resolve in the box

    Super simple rig. How do you mount a mic without a rig when you want audio?

    • @bruhdabones
      @bruhdabones 8 месяцев назад

      Maybe there’s an audio guy on the jobs he’s working. Or, the type of content he shoots doesn’t need audio (and instead relies on a library or VO)

      @@bruhdabones All those could be true. I am just curious about Jake's process for when he's recording audio.

      If you have a cage you can have other mounting points where you can mount a mic

    Do you have access to the camera display with the battery back there?

      Also wondering this!

      I try to use the buttons on top for most of the adjustments (ISO, WB, etc), but if I need to get to the screen I just tilt the battery out of the way. You could probably place the battery farther away from the camera in order to achieve more space to use the touch screen, but I personally prefer a tighter setup because it's more comfortable

    Do you use IR filter of some sort for the bmpcc4k

    • @jakehayden998
      @jakehayden998  7 месяцев назад +1

      I certainly would want to add one if I was using a Pocket 4k on a serious shoot. The IR pollution can be pretty noticeable. I don't own one at the moment though
