- ③ BEST and WORST of ESSENTIAL RC LANDINGS 2017 ! SILKY SMOOTH AND SHOCKING ARRIVAL COMPILATION
No take-offs, no fly-bys, ONLY LANDINGS. Probably the riskiest part of any flight is the final few seconds where the pilot has to get his radio controlled model back on the ground after a flight. Even in good conditions this can be a challenge but in a cross wind it can demand both experience and skill to balance the power and attitude of the model into the wind before trying to gently get all the wheels on the ground.
Filmed at the big RC shows and events around the UK by Dom Mitchell of 'Essential RC' RUclips channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 4K Pro camcorder.

1:00 Good thing the guy who ran behind the plane was there to save the case.
otherwise the plane nose would have crushed big time.
happy to see the Fokker DR1 survive a difficult, hard landing.
Good compilation with some wonderful skills being demonstrated.
The thing about RC is that all the pilots walked away from the landings
Some smiling, some not.
It's pretty easy to tell that it's going to be a good Landing because the approach usually looks very controlled
I know this isn't a comedy, but the "landing" (multiple landings?) at 5:34 had me laughing out loud! But honestly, most of those landings were immaculate! Wonderful piloting, especially in the tricky winds! Great video. THANKS!
As a pilot watching the taking of a 3G turn at low airspeed is scary but the cross winds look really brutal, must be tough to fly RC. Hats off.
As a good pilot advised me when I was learning to land....good approach for a good landing
I feel sorry for the guy s that crash land Good footage as always
Espectacular 😃👍👍.
Son aviones espectaculares. Joyas de la aviacion universal:
Some sad losses as well as some great flying.
Whoever that guy who saved the Bronco is deserves a medal!
That's Steve Holland's model - lovely chap and very good at flying. One of the few people who can actually safely fly at shows IMO...
There were some funny landings 🤣😎
My stomach is churning from nervous exhaustion watching these.
@1:47 I thought it was a tiny model - I was astonished when the guy ran over to it.
That coursair with the folding wings is a beautiful machine
That's was a textbook landing on the ME 262 SturmVogel.
To be fair it looked like most of the incidents were due to high windspeeds. The good landings were a joy to watch!
What a lovely plane and it flies well to Helen Moore
God damn, watching that blue Fokker climbing down and fighting the wind was totally nerve wrecking !
5:33 it amazes me the skill level of some of these jet flyers,
need to go back to the trainer planes!
Thank you for not click-bating.
5:33 how is someone with that nice of a plane, so bad at landing
That big yellow biplane did not land it elegantly caressed the ground with a gentle kiss
I find the Corsair's folding wing the most impressive
Kissing the butter vs smashing it
6:20 warthunder arcade battle in a nutshell xD
Ehhhh
I think that the most neglected part of larger scale rc aircrafts is the undercarriage. It has no true suspension, unlike rc cars that can take a beating because they have oil filled shocks and springs. The folding mechanics has to be operated with servos that should withstand landing shocks.
Ramon Kabigting on smaller models fitting true hydraulic suspension would add way too much weight and complexity
5:33 you are not supposed to bunny hop that beauty !!!
4:07 When Minions fly?
Way too windy for the tri wing. Jeez!
That Fokker wanted to become a helicopter.
ⵉⵜⵔⵓⵏⴰⵓⵜ looked more like a blimp to me. the thing was just floating
Lool, Harrier von Rihtoften, so close to the perfect landing :)
Where is the D.H.C twin otter ?
I'm not gonna lie, some of those smooth landings got me feeling all warm inside. As for the other clips involving crashes, you guys really need to go back to flying trainers.
I can never figure out why they fly at these events in such outrageous winds.
Because paying public come to these events and expect to be entertained. The show must go on!
3:29 is that a yak or lavochkin?
Oscar Thorpe a lavochkin
Why do all of them make paper thin landing gears? No wonder why some of them lose wheels
I don't understand the problem with the blue Fokker Triplane?
Very light wing loading makes it difficult to land when any type of wind. He has to land it into wind and even then it can tip easily. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
@@EssentialRC So the floating down landing on this Fokker is generally more successful than a regular runway landing?
The jets look like a pain in 6he ass to land.. the poor fokker was in some wind it shouldn't have been in... the wind seems like the worst enemy
If U think about the time, efford, love (and money) put in these model -> IT HURTS!! ;-(
I get upset when I crash a foamie. I can't imagine how these guys must feel when they break their favourite model. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
... MY WORDS... If U love modeling-U know what is destructed in a (split-) second!! ;-(((
First viewer
I personally would rather see successful landings than crash ones. The crash landing compilations make me so sad
Qe .
Trash trashed!
I swear, I've been in the hobby for 30 years and see you stupid jerks landing and taking off in winds that would rock and roll a Boeing jet....and, that moron trying to "hover" down what looked like a half scale Dr.1 , you're lucky you didn't wreck the whole friggin model.
Hmmm. You just might be missing the fact that these guys are flying at a show, on a specific date, when paying public turned up to watch them fly. Sure they could have stayed on the ground and now flown but they ignored the conditions and put on the best demo they could despite the wind. Not everyone is a fair weather pilot like you buddy. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
