Exception for the poor helicopter
The autogyro deserves the “Most British Crash Ever” award. A peaceful setting, beautiful green grass, delicate birdsong and then “Oh dear” after the impact.
I'm here to be entertained by the destruction. However, I absolutely feel for the humans who put so much effort into making these amazing models.
planes made of wood, glue, foam and plastics dont really stand a chance on impacts, i get people like to rebuild them over and over but if thats your thing than whatever

way different than a real plane, given the speed and weight of the RC plane, i was also in A&P school pre covid

Very nice model of that German push/pull high performance fighter he barely missed there. I tried to mockup one, but found the rear prop made the elevator ineffective.

Some of these operators are pretty amazing "pilots" - grounding down such a model safely must be no piece of cake when it's fully operational, let alone when it's been damaged before landing... Respect, ladies and gentlemen!

Dude with the jet at the end.. You know he wouldn't be able to do that again if he tried, SOOOO lucky... But it sure was cool!!!
One of the blokes in the background I heard say "do it again" to which the pilot replied with that sound in his voice that implied, " Hell no, I don't even know how I got away with it that time." . If you look around you can find some amazing jet flying using thrust vectoring to do what I would normally have considered impossible for a jet. There's one particular clip of a matched pair of jets doing the most insane 3D type manoeuvres mostly over a lake, it is awesome to watch.
Man, that is heartbreaking. The time and effort these people put into those planes.

I'm pretty sure the speaker is about the say "there helicopter is there without permission". So the guy flying doesn't know there is a heli on the landing strip, thus the impact.

I have to admit that the AC/DC song playing during a collision of 2 model airplanes, one of the best captures in this video, sounds awesome! 5:58

9:07, i really have to give credit to the construction and builders of that plane, it utterly demolished the helicopter, was able to continue, take off, and then land on a broken wheel strut

7:30 was a good save when the engine cut off.
Those who were with the engine turned off for some reason and yet still managed to land with little damage are impressive.
Most planes will glide dead stick however it does make you land gusts need enough altatude to make it back to run way
How to handle a "dead stick" is one of the first things an RC pilot learns

Never ceases to amaze me how many of the crashes are classic stalls. Lack of airspeed leading to uncontrollable air surfaces.
Are you kidding me? These are toys! Not actual planes! They need to stall for a save landing! Actual planes are having full trottle when they land! Because they must be able to go round! If you try to land a toy with full speed they are going to be distroyed! This is the savest way to land a toy!

Lol, you'd be surprised what these aircfaft can do with a decent enough headwind.
The Antanov An-2 can not only hover on the spot in the right conditions, it can actually fly backwards, I've seen it with my own eyes on several occasions, it's quite something to behold for a bird of its size.

any plane has VTOL capabilities the headwind just has to be in the range that the plane can fly in without stalling.
@@KumaBean Planes fly relative to the air around them not to the ground so in an extreme headwind the plane can have an airspeed that's high enough to avoid a stall while being less than the speed of the heading making it appear to fly backward relative to the ground.

Pretty neat! I see a lot of comments asking why don't they just fly in a real plane, well after seeing these crash, I know I'd rather watch my plane crash while standing safely on the ground with a remote in hand, than actually being IN the plane when it hits the ground! LoL
That said, it's an amazing set of skills these pilots have, including keeping these planes from hitting someone on the ground!

The funny thing about crash compilations like this is they are really good at getting people to join the RC community.
I just got into rc crawlers and love every bit of it. I definitely want an aircraft now!
Well it's refreshing to see that one thing hasn't changed since I was involved in this hobby 15-25 years ago and that is that none of these scale aircraft pilots has any idea about using the rudder, whether it's during take off or to make coordinated turns. Many of these models would have been saved if the pilot had any idea about using the rudder on his model.

I love the guy who takes out the helicopter! What on earth was he thinking? Did he ever think of checking the runway before takeoff ? I always do.
he knew it was there (he owned both models) the heli was supposed to hop up over the plane but his head speed wasn't high enough to lift him as the plane took off !

Here's a tip from someone who's played since day 1
Grab a helicopter and fly at low altitude memorize the locations of poles and stuff that you could crash into

It breaks your heart to see these beautiful models that have taken countless hours to create have mishaps but I couldn't fail to notice that some of those aircraft were being flown and I think too windy a conditions
