    I’m late, but I’m so happy that I found your channel. I was a pharmacy tech for a year. That gave me experience to be at the front desk at a dermatology office. I graduate with my bachelors in Psychology in March 2024. Then I’ll get my masters in Healthcare Admin. I’m binging your videos and it’s giving me so much motivation!

How do I gain experience without actually getting a better job when I have to focus on productivity in my daily role?

      You may need to update your resumé. Highlight your managerial skills. Instead of listing out your responsibilities, illustrate your value by using the CAR method (challenge, action, result). Hope this helps!

    Hi I’m viewing this months late. I recently came across you & looking to get my Masters degree in Healthcare Admin. I finally finished my degree on Organizational Mgmt 2019 after getting my girls out of HS. I’m looking more into HIM however having been a CNA/CMA for over 15yrs an Admin in that sector is an opportunity as well. Nursing Home Admin. What would you recommend a path for each or both. Or perhaps a Bachelor degree or certificate would be financially better? (Tuition rates) As a seasoned woman I’m open to entry level positions now that would allow me to transfer upon obtaining my degree. I wished I had caught you live. Thanks for your input.

    Hi! Is a PhD or a DHA worth it for Health Services Administration? Do you recommend it? Or do you recommend to stay with an MHA degree?

    • @CourtneySharea
      @CourtneySharea  3 года назад +3

      Hi Rita! It really depends. I haven't encountered many people with a DHA in my career thus far. IMO, DHA's are beneficial for people working in a teaching hospital setting or for those who plan to become an educator. That's just my opinion. I hope that helps!

    I currently work in health care and have been for 26 years. I have a bachelors and masters in health care admin. I have been having a hard time advancing in my current employer. What route can I take to advance with this degree? Many positions want you to have management experience which I don’t have. What else can I do or route can I take?

    Courtney, my question is regarding the cost of entering a mha program...I guess my fear is what if I take on student loans for a masters program but never see that money come back to me? I’m already not having good fortune finding a job after graduating with bachelors in health administration in the field I’m doing patient registration . How do I get to that next step for my career? (I can’t afford any out of pocket programs and my employer has a weak tuition reimbursement program)

    Hey so I know you have two graduate degrees a MBA and MHA. In your professional opinion which holds more value or does it make since to get both or do a dual MHA/MBA?
    Thanks

    • @CourtneySharea
      @CourtneySharea  2 года назад +2

      Hi Janae! To add some background, I received my dual master's degree while I was managing a medical practice. I had a pretty solid foundation of how healthcare organizations operated while in grad school. Wtbs, I defer to what I learned in my MBA program more than in the MHA program. Ultimately, the degree you choose depends on the career you're interested in.
