I was practicing sets at my house since my room is SO crowded. I wish I can practice serves inside since where I live it’s always over 110 degrees
I had try-outs yesterday, and yeah I didn’t make it and now I have to wait another year

As long as you try your best you’re very likely to make it! I just made mine and I barely got 2 balls over the net the whole week and I don’t think either was actually behind the correct line lol but I made it! So good luck and try your best and put lots of effort into the things you are really good at and even more into the ones you’re not just as serves lol or try underhand serves if you’re allowed at practice! I just tried volleyball and my coach explained overhand serves in lots of steps, and it's hard for me to process a lot of steps in one motion, so when you explained it made it easier to understand thank you! 😊

Hey! This really was helpful to practice, my tryouts are in the spring! These are helpful because I'm not that good at um upperhand serveing!
you dont have to start out as an over hander! Im in 7th grade (young i know) but i cannot overhand serve yet and i still get the ball in everytime. If you perfect your underhand serve, it could get you into college just on your serve. nobody is perfect at first, so just do youur best

I do these same drill for practice... Also I do 1 more drill which is- toss and hit the ball (less intensity) towards a plain wall and catch it.
It helps practice a perfect serve as well as improves reflexes.

So I tried out on my Junior Year, I was improving, but I do be getting hit in the face, and the coach didn't really want me to play if that was going to happen on the court of a real game, so I didn't make the team :(

thats understandable, the coach just wants u to be safe. keep up the good work, you'll make the team next year, now with double the experience and way better skills. :)

You do not use your fingers you mainly use the palm and below

Hey Coach Koko, do you think you could do a video on hitting harder?My serves almost make it over, much end up hitting the net.I’ve only ever had 2 over hand serves go over.And my Coach keeps saying it harder and I’m trying and it’s starting to get frustrating.

Love your videos but how can you practice the jump serve at home? I have it and coach says I can use it in games so I just need some drills to perfect it.

A libero is in the back row and is the one that dives. They also have a different color shirt (usually the opposite so if the team has white and orange, the libero could have orange and white)
Also, the libero specializes in defence :D

Try your hardest and hustle! I swear that’s how I made the team and I can’t even overhand serve 🤣 also get along with everyone and be super friendly and supportive of everyone else Bc attitude helps a great deal with everything and everyone!

Ofc, 5'2" isn't too bad! I'm only 5'2 or so and I'm a setter :) one of my underclassmen is like- 5'10", but we're both on the team, so work hard and you got this

Personally I still can’t and I barely made two over in a whole week and neither was properly behind the line but I still made it so just keep giving it your all and you have a pretty great chance of making it! Especially if there’s not a bunch of ppl that are gonna be cut you have a pretty high chance! Good luck!
