I've made my entire catalog of music free to download and use in videos. You can find it all here → mandelbro.bandcamp.com/ I hope to encourage you to start experimenting with music in videos, and start sharing stories that are meaningful to you. Take care!
That's a great move, thanks a lot! I'm going to try my hand at creating interesting feature videos and will absolutely credit you if I reuse your work.
Came for the video, stayed for the music :) I went to your Bandcamp and will try to include your music in my videos a) to thank and support you and b) because it's actually great! Cheers mate
I'm one of the two editors on this video (Jack Joyce brilliantly tackled the second half of the piece) and let me say, fantastic job with this analysis (everyone on the team is amazed at what you've done). Seeing our work dissected (and praised) in such detail is truly incredible. Subbed! 🙌
I've got a degree in film scoring. And I must say, as much as I love pulling apart the soundtracks for Hollywood blockbusters, it's very exciting to be in a time period where RUclips essays stand up to the same level of analysis. There's some seriously good stuff on this platform, it gives me chills.
I mean, you could also make a video about how nicely music is utilized in your own videos, because you yourself do a reaaally good job at that. Which is also why I love your videos and always forget how small of a youtuber you actually are. Many bigger channels aren't this good, keep it up!
This is an amazing breakdown. I struggle with adding music in videos, so I just don't. I've been looking for advice on how to incorporate it, and there's just so little out there -- nothing to this quality. Thanks for making this!
Thank you very much for making this video. Probably the most important video I have watched on RUclips on that topic. Hope to see more breakdowns like this in the future.
Underrated video here, man. Great job! I love Johnny's videos and base a lot of my editing on his style now. This was a big help because the music plays a huge role in his work as you mentioned. Keep up the great work!
dude analysing songs and their arrangments is something I really love doing! I use excel as a means to study and map out songs to learn about how to keep things interesting and to keep track of each instrument and where things come in and drop out, especially in songs that are instrumentally dense. I've even done it for a few songs of yours too!!
This is one of the best videos I've seen in a while... I wish there is 10 like buttons to show my appreciation... please do more videos like this one ... your way of explanation is just brilliant
This is one of the best videos I've ever seen - you did an incredible job explaining your ideas clearly and instructively and with the passion you clearly have for the subject matter. Thank you so much for making this video, it's really helpful!!
Great breakdown, thanks for making this. I'm currently studying storytelling as a way to level up my videos, and this was very interesting in that respect too, besides the musical part. As for music, I always struggle to fine fitting music when I try to find it, so I always opt to not use any as it's just too time consuming to me and a low yield activity considering how long it takes me to just find one song that I can use. I understand its importance, but I don't understand how to integrate music into film efficiently, time wise.
Really Great video i learned a lot and especially you save me a lot of time and energy and now i can focus on ,creating by following the rules you have presented and i really appreciate You and your great work and it would be really nice if you tell me how you did that glitch in the middle of sentence at 15:22 min.. Thank you❤
I think the best resource is simply going out and filming something and editing it into a story. By doing that you can see what works and what doesn’t and start building an intuition for things. Outside of that I really enjoyed this short book “On Directing Film” by David Mamet who explains in very direct terms how to stories are told through film. You might enjoy that! Thanks for subscribing and take care!
Cool. Did not watch any of your videos in long time . Busy. Well done . I did some theater music at some point and I had problems explaining to the actors that people come to theater with a different perception than 50 or 100 years ago. People watch productions with hyperproduced sound tracks, etc. That should be somehow counterbalanced also in theater. In a different way , but it should be done. A lot of movies , once you take down the sound track...well....try and see.
You’re way overthinking it. David mora’s Video on Johnny Harris is so much more simpler. If y’all wanna check it out it’s called ‘ why every Johnny Harris video goes viral’ and it’s an amazingly well edited/made video
@@MrGreen-ci2mm Not really, music as an instrument for storytelling is a really interesting topic. And here he goes into more detail about the music while I think David Mora‘s video talked more about visuals and gave a general overview.
I really appreciate this video i knew there was a method to Jonny's madness regarding music in his videos but i never noticed how subtle it was you fixed my missing link. im gonna send you a dm on Instagram

I love the album itself and have it saved in a playlist, so it's really nice of you to give people opportunity to use it freely 🤍
