I've been going through a rough time and found that I lost interest in reading. This series is making me feel inspired to read again and fall down all sorts of interesting rabbit holes. Thank you for all your work on these videos 🌻
Cinzia, if listening to your hypnotic voice explicate my favorite poet's greatest work, while simultaneously being favored with the gift of your lovely visage is even a remote greeting to Hell, I will relish the visit, though the stay be eternal. PLEASE gift us a reading of "Paradise Lost!" 😇
I'm so happy you are doing this series on Dante's Divine comedy. I'm currently preparing it for an exam and this is a great help, not only as a reminder but also as deeper dive into certain details❤❤❤
Thanks! Would you consider a video about Cassandra/ Kassandra from Greek Mythology? I would love to hear your thoughts/ opinions on her myth. Please and thank you.
Your videos are always a great way to start my morning! I love the enthusiasm and humour. Coincidentally, my late Mother in Law wanted her daughters to take communion even though she was C of E. Weird how that Catholic gulit spreads itself around.
Wow! This was really fun. I'm pretty sure I read The Inferno in high school, and seem to remember enjoying it, but you've put so much historical context around it that it's brought quite the smile to my face. Thank you!
Since Raphael used contemporary figures like Michelangelo, Leonardo, etc as the models for the figures in the School of Athens perhaps whoever he used as the model for Ibn Rushd amused Julius? Like perhaps it was a lost inside joke, or a dig at someone Raphael knew the Pope didn't like.
I started listening to this series, not really knowing much about it, but wanting to get something substantial out of the internet that didn't make me want to either lay my head down in angst or shake with frustration. Please keep it up, thank you for your content!
I also got the catholic baptism for the "just in case" from my barely observant parents. Can confirm that it did not wash off the catholic guilt, and possibly the water they use is just pure distilled guilt.
I like Dante's limbo heaven. It's like a big party where everybody brings their differences. It's actually a much more factual and logical heaven than we realize like the catholic intermediate heaven it is actually similar to the Islamic intermediary heaven called barzak which is actually another very interesting and logical concept to explore deeply. I hope you do a video on it too. As Dante says it's about living life with good morals and learning these lessons. This is exactly why we come into this world. Yes I also think religious writers deleted the Islamic history from the western world much like how black people are now rising because their history was deleted from history books. The survival of philosophical thinking after the material life sounds somewhat like the collective unconscious and genetics through the interplay between genotype and phenotypes genes. A little bit like what Carl Jung might have said too. Looks like people misunderstood Ibn Sina because of propaganda against him by the rulers of the time. Now Islam is spreading in Europe because people are discovering the truths much like your own reflection in this video.
Thank you so much for these videos, my father is the biggest literature geek and really likes all of Dante's stuff (the ordering kind of confuses me so idk what to call it lol) but I can't seem to find any copies of the books at my school library and these videos give me an opportunity to talk with it to my father and get an in-depth understanding of something I've been interested in for ages :)
I cannot believe YT hid this from me for six days. Given the viewcount is way lower than I expected, I'm reckoning the algorithm overreacted to 'hell'. Maybe they would prefer to promote a "first circle of heck".
No sadly all my videos usually get less around 2.5% views of my subscriber base, regardless of the topic. It’s why I’m just going to move away RUclips if I get a job
@@CinziaDuBois I am sorry it took a while to reply; I have known from some of your comments in video that YT has been letting you down recently, but it really stung to hear how badly. When you do find a different job, I will miss your content but I hope it brings you less frustrations and more fulfilment.
laios from dungeon meshi is a good questing, through that doesnt do justice how deep it gets. and madoka from madoka box as genius, but the manga isnt easy to categorizy, through it has a great moment her being humanized assasin classroom hat at most 3 protagonists, the class is fleshed out enough but are fitting more in support and they are just strong support story wise. karma and nagisa are the mcs probably
3:30 😅 🙋🏻♀️ me with my two sons, my mother grew up Catholic, as did my father in law, so it was a little bit to make them happy but also same reason lol it's like having that little card in your wallet just in case 🤷🏻♀️😅❤️
If anyone's seen anime Texhnolyze, the underground city and what happens to it's people is heavily inspired by Dante's Inferno. It's pure nihilism but a good watch
Limbo? First circle of hell? Shouldn't this be part of your "working on your Ph.D " series? (asking as someone who has gone through the hellish Ph.D. process myself)
Well I'm near sighted so if we were in hell together you'd be blurry for me even with perfect focus on your camera. Though, I imagine we'd have other things of greater import to consider besides that.
@@michaelsommers2356 As you’ll learn, Dante was an absolutely HUGE Romaboo. Dante loved anyone Roman and absolutely hated anyone Greek because he thought Rome was founded by the Descendants of Troy.
Otherwise known as 'bringing civilization to the barbarians'. Besides he may well have been a genocidal bar steward, but he was a Roman genocidal bar steward 😆
This intro is the best 😂😂 couldn't be more perfect. "If I'm blurry, Welcome to Hell." 🤣🤣🤣

I love this intro 😂. From the annoyed rant to, "you nerds chose to be in this hell with me". Amazing 😂
Thank you Cinzia. I think you are a natural teacher.
Well said.
You are a natural born storyteller. I love your videos.
Thank you very much for not giving up and redoing it for the 4TH TIME. Have a great ending of the year.
I’m so happy to see this series continue!!!
They say Hell has the best tunes. Limbo, with all these philosophers, will have the best debates and discussions.

I freaking love you so much Cinzia. You make me giggle and I also could listen to you tell me stories for days and days. ❤️❤️

Thank you so much! I will do, she’s been on my list for a while.
@@CinziaDuBois seriously, thank you. I wish I could afford to give more. I truly appreciate you and your work. I wish nothing but the best for you.
I love Dante's Divine Comedy. Possibly the funniest fan fiction I've ever read honestly.
All hail the rhythm! All hail Cinzia!
Thank you for elaborating on Ibn Sina. Fascinating stuff
bit more than halfway through and Limbo seems like a kinda awesome place according to Dante.
Your videos are always a great way to start my morning! I love the enthusiasm and humour.

Thank you for the video, so comforting during lunch at work.
Oh, I was RAVENOUS for this video! (I watched the first yesterday!) ❤

I’m so excited for this series! Love the Divine Comedy! Catholic fan-fiction lol!
Thanks-love your presence and the info
Thanks for watching!
Ooh been waiting for part two, and I appreciate the effort
As Mephistopheles tells Faust, "Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it..."
I really like this less formal style of video. It lets your personality shine!
I can't imagine having to go through that list of names multiple times only to find out the video didn't record properly...
Fascinating. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I listened to the video last night to fall asleep, now I need to start it again so I actually hear what you said.
My comment is a tribute to the algorithm gods, at the altar of visibility!
Also - loving this video vibe! 🎉
Your amazing thank you for the videos..
Thank you for making this series of videos. Wonderful analysis, as usual for you. ❤
Thank you, Leslie!!
This video was simply amazing. And great singing, too!
I loved the intro, it was very funny. Great video can’t wait for the next chapter.
I love this!! Thank you so much for your work
Doing the thing for the algorithm and to say...

Bahahaha I felt this intro in my college professor teaching online classes heart.
the lighting/setup/editing in this video is just chef’s kiss 🤌🏽

Question: am I the only one that hears "1980 CE" instead of (I assume) "980CE" at 9:30 ish?
looking forward to the next part.

I met Bigfoot the other day. nice guy, very shy. turns out he's actually blurry. no clue how that works, but it does explain all the photos
I'll bring the sun block. SPF 4000 good?
Reciting an Insanely long list of notable and influential names and then suddenly…”Rachael yeah she’s just there” 😂
5:20-5:55 would make neat song lyrics.
4th time is the charm?
RE your having to re-record this over and over... Stephen King wrote once that "hell is repetition." The irony.

Do you speed up your videos? I had to slow down the video playback because I was having a hard time keeping pace. It might just be me thinking slowly!
Allow the magic in.
when is ep 4 slated to come out ? also the play list plays them in the wrong order
how low can you go!

You're fuckin hilarious!
😎🥂
If you came out blurry (I don’t think you did), I would just assume you were broadcasting from The Pearly Gates- 😉😘
"I'll see you in hell!" Louise Belcher
I am so glad that I wasn’t brought up Catholic. Then again George Carlin had various comments about these things, like Limbo.
Welcome to Hell ? Sydney Watson has that as her intro! Don’t worry…. :you have nothing in common.
How do you feel about these other audiobooks. American Marxism, and nietzsche and the nazis? I finished these books a little while ago.

Wait... "Brutus" is in Limbo? Must be a different Brutus from the one sharing the fate of Cassius and Judas Iscariot
❤ what beautiful hell 😍😍 beauty and brains does exist.... sadly only in hell😂 😂😂 ....I love your brains 😅😅😅
😂 Dante putting Julius Cesar in limbo. He committed semi genocide on the people of Western Europe (Gaul) & did many horrible things.

looks a bit blury
Love being in Hell with you (ok, Limbo)
I’m not saying your not going to enter heaven I was just giving you advice. Also I don’t get my research from Dante don’t even know the story
You,re right , what am I doing listening to this? Bye, bye.
