- Colored Pencils should be properly stored on their sides in order to protect the tips and the core. Here is how I store mine so they are safe and secure. If you store them upright, store them with the tips up. #PencilStorage #ColorMyWorld

I just got the 48 set of Creyart colored pencils. They had them in semi color wheel order but I put them i numerical order. Look good.
Cool thing about them is that they have numbers AND color names on them. They are fabulous! Soft and creamy!!
I am drooling over those Holbeins! I have my youngest son who is visited in Thailand looking for a set for me, I sure hope he finds one!
I have that wooden box. I put my sennelier oil pastels in it. I think I got it from Jerry’s artarama.and I’m thinking about getting a second for my colored pencils since I’m tired of keeping them in the metal tins.
Hi Lori! I'm very new to any artistic expression whatsoever! A few short months, I've only completed 8 pictures in total, still looking at and learning from A lot of you gracious tutorial teachers. Probably 12 or so different teachers! Thank you for your time and effort, all tutors! My quest has been on finding a teacher/ tutorials on Faber castell gelatos. I bought them at Ross for 1.99 a pack, with the exception of the metallic set they only had from amazon! So not a lot of money was spent, but I've only seen one tutorial on how to use these as a coloring medium in our books. Now it worked great for her because, like youself, you guys are sooo far advance e in your talent abilities, we super, very beginner types, really can not get anywhere with this medium! I understand the basic concept, get tip of gelato wet, run brush on tip, apply to paper! SIMPLE FOR YOU WHO ARE ARTIST! Not so simple for us floundering art-wanna-be's. So I'm hoping against hope, you might take some time,(if needed) learn some coloring book techniques, and SPREAD THE JOY!!😻 PLEASE???

Terri Johnson-no need to get wet. Just swipe your finger across the gelato a few times then rub onto paper, spreading as you go. They make great backgrounds for pages, quicker and easier on the hands than colored pencil. Check the manufacture site, they usually have ideas. Any technique using pastels can be done with the gelato. Great price!!

Hi Lori, I ordered the new Schpiperr Farbens and they arrived today, they are even better than the previous ones. They now have BOTH an imaginative name and number in a font large enough for senior eyes to see without a magnifying glass and strong light! I downloaded the color chart from the website and it includes both the old and new color numbers, saving time from needing to compare old and new sets. They came in a solid tin protected by a cardboard sleeve, and the trays are truly sturdy. They came preshapened - the best point I've ever seen on a new set! They are back in stock on Amazon, and Tania had even sent me a note through Messenger in reply to a note I'd left last spring!

I am really happy to hear this Kim. I was sad when they were gone because I used to recommend them to anyone that wanted a good quality set for a realistic price. I am going to go check it out and maybe put out a short video on them later. We have a lot of people here that can't afford expensive pencils and these will give them a lot of bang for the buck.
Color My World yes, not quite as reasonable as my first set, but that was introductory priced I think. Still, for under $40 shipped (Prime anyway) they are remarkable. I've now swatched the and double checked against my other chart and things really do line up. I had put my old set onto a chart with the Marco Renoir 100 set, now there is an oil based set to rival Prismacolors. The two act alike on paper and there us no real overlap in colors! I had these before my amazing husband gifted me with my Polychromos / Albrect Dürer sets on His birthday in April.
Hi Lori, I own the Sargent Art pencils too, and have been working on a comparison swatch chart. For the majority of the pencils, the colors match up, but there are a few exceptions. AND they are definitely a different core formula, they Iay down very differently! By your definition - the SCHPIPERR FARBEN PENCILS are oil based, they don't blend anything like my Prismacolors. They are harder than the Sargeant Art pencils, they keep a sharper point,and layer nicely on my cardstock I use for swatching.

What set you really like blend layer well and cost little money?
I’ve been wondering, what are the Prismacolor colors that definitely is necessary to have as a backup? I’ve only done a page and a half and my cream and white are definitely getting smaller...
I want a pencil holder that will protect the points especially while traveling in our van. Since room is at a premium, do you have any suggestions?
I’m with you on using the pencil until it can’t be sharpened any longer. But there is something about a new pencil that is delightful.
Hi. I cant remember who does this but they glued the short pencil to the new pencil and used it till they couldn't sharpen it anymore.
It's a shame.. Some if those don't even look used...I wish I could afford this nice ones but I like the video where you made cheap pencils look like expensive ones

Hi Lori I am new to your channel and Love it! Also pretty new to adult coloring. I saw you had the Prismacolor Verithin colored pencils, but I have never seen anyone demonstrate or discuss their usage. I would love it if you could. I use them when I either want a fine and or I don't want the line to blend with the color next to it.

Have you checked out the Castle Arts brand premiere soft core color pencils? I know at the time you posted this video the brand was still very new and had a few bugs to work out like numbering the pencils and such. I ask because I tried out Prisma along side a Castle and they both laid down smoothly, layered well allowing for numerous layers, colors were as vivid, etc In fact I even tried a blind test by which I covered both shafts over with paper and I seriously couldn’t tell which was which on paper. Would love to know what your input was on them.

Hi Lori. I would greatly appreciate your input on this. I've noticed some mention regarding storing Prismacolor pencils and the soft core being so sensitive that room temperature matters. I haven't worked with mine a whole lot yet because I'm having a problem with them breaking after sharpening. My Tihoo sharpener is coming today and I have the CMW Intermediate course from ETSY and want to get started right away. I live in East Tennessee and don't heat Or cool every room in my home is why I'm curious as to your thoughts on this subject. By the way, arranging the pencils your way according to the color wheel makes so much more sense! Thank you so much!!
ruclips.net/video/x38hz95MVBE/видео.html I think this will make you feel better. A cold or warm room will not damage your prismacolors. Maybe putting them in the oven or the freezer will do it. If your comfortable, your pencils are too.

Oh! That pencil porn made me so lustful to buy yet another set of pencils! Like I need another one, right? But I have discovered that significant impulsivity comes with being a Colorist! Just ordered my set of Schpiperr Farbens. I had a new set of Sargent Art Pencils arrive last week too, which I think are comparable to those. My eye is now set for the Derwent Coloursoft next! Is there any hope for my wallet?

The quality of that drawer is lacking. I think there's a similar brand for the same price that's much sturdier. Also if you haven't already, I'd like to see what you think of Black widow colored pencils.
I have never tried Black Widow. Unless they seek me out for a review, I don't think I would actively go out of my way to try them. Not because I think they are bad. I know a lot of people like them, but I have so many sets of pencils that I never get a chance to use the middle range brands. I have used Arteza and Colorit. There are a few I thought were ok but I end up giving them away because of lack of use. I don't even use my Verithins that often and they are a Prismacolor brand.

I hope they are because they are really good pencils. For an inexpensive set they are worth the money.

Pencil porn!!!! I keep mine in books, but I hear you about the inconvenience if you are using them every day. It’s a little nit picky of me...and I apologize in advance, but Dahlia is a flower and pronounced DAL(like gal)-ya more or less :). I grow one hundred of them in lots of beautiful colors!
I think it has more to do with location. I have heard Dahlia pronounced about 3 ways. I live in the Appalachian mountains of Southwestern Virginia, people presume we are using bad grammar and have little brains because of how we say words. Not that you are doing that, btw, not at all. It's just one if the reasons that keeps me from RUclips myself. I'm a full blooded hillbilly, the grammar and pronunciation police would be on my ass like white on rice every video lol! 😂
