Squirrel vs thinking human is to my mind the richest humour source on You Tube at the moment. Cruze is a well-equipped and exceptionally articulate practitioner of the craft.
I love watching the squirrels jump from one tree to the next. Or the tree to our power line. It never ceases to amaze me how far they can go and still land on that tiny branch or thin power line. This was awesome.
This is truly a labor of love. Just the time and craftmanship you put into these is incredible. Had no idea that a squirrel could have a higher vertical leap than Lebron James and Michael Jordan. That is insane. This is truly a marvelous scientific experiment. Not to mention, super entertaining.
Lol labor of love indeed....they are some jumpers for sure! I was guessing a little higher...but the tape measure don’t lie haha! Thanks for stopping by brother have a great weekend!
Oh man! The boys and I hooped and hollered every time they succeeded in the jumps!!! Unbelievable how they can go about anywhere! Even a squirrel baffle can do the job alone!!! Great video bro!
Great video. Interesting info in here about the squirrels. They are determined, which is admirable. Thank you for your hard work, Cruze's Louisiana Outdoors!
Thank you guys for your effort and entertainment. Simple easy (lots of work and time) to understand. Great for kids... Reminds of growing up in Avoyelles...
Those squirrels never seize to amaze me ! Although part of me thinks your shenanigans have helped create a super squirrel😂😂 looking forward to the next one brother !!!
I have watch other video of yours LOL I Love the Catapult one, that one squirrel look like he was thinking I want to go again LOL the way he hit the ground and took off running to the catapult LOL it look like he was running to it. 🐿🐿🐿

Great video Chris! Lots of good stuff in this one: Squirrel Shenanigans✅ Some Ninja Course throwback techniques✅ Cool GoPro angles in the feeder✅ Amazing athleticism✅ Old Rocky and Bullwinkle clip✅ Watching those squirrels kinda reminds me of myself back in my high school basketball days.

You're right about that bro these squirrels have to earn everything if they want to get their nuts! Maybe they should just give up and try to be a house pet and get fed that way? 😬😳😂
46" I can't get my slim body to jump 12" 😂😂 Very impressive, I also like how determined that one squirrel was and as always you cracked me up when you added the baffles 🤣😜
Hey Mr. Paul...good to hear from ya sir! Yea since our local river system is still jacked up from the hurricanes we have a little more spare time to annoy the local squirrels :-)
Squirrels are very skill, I saw them climb on the side of the building 19 floors in Brooklyn, they can leap, climb, hang, and go down a tree headfirst with tremendous ease
I love the squirrel videos, and for 10 months now I have watched a momma squirrel raise two young ones in the Oak tree outside my window. I had no idea how much those little buggers fell out of the tree. I obviously need to get out of this house soon, I have grown attached to squirrels....
I found this video most informative and also was fun to watch. When checking Google on how high a squirrel can jump, there is so many measurement variables that are confusing and with so many different measurements, one is not sure how high to place a feeder. This video where you actually show the “fine line” at 47” is very good especially for some of us with hanging height problems. I set my one feeder at 47” and my other at 51”. Well over a week now and no squirrels made it. Thank you for your time in order to help us viewers get the proper height limit.
I've a squirrel who jumps on the back of my lanai chair and knocks on my sliding glass door for me to hand her out a walnut. I've fed her since she was a juvenile who lost her mother. They're very smart and fun to watch. They study a problem and I enjoy watching the gears turn in their little heads. Mine seem to prefer the walnuts over pecans. They sit on a table eating the nuts and dropping little bits that the finches collect later. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it.
Lol yea I tinkered with cooking spray on my spinners awhile back...it works great but doesn’t last long as the rain washes away...may be fun to watch though :-). Have a good one!
I can imagine a squirrel brigade coming together and trying to come up with ideas how to beat these traps that they're trying to get through! And one of them comes up with a bright idea, he says look bro let's just give up and let them feed us! 😬😬😂😁😸🐨🦉🐼
You have a good sense of humor dealing with those furry little demons. I have been entertaining and scaring my neighbors with my fits of frustration. My set up to feed the birds is different and options are limited. I rent a town home and have my feeders hanging from bracket hooks attached to wooden roof pillars. I have a baffle above the feeders, but the demons crawl up the wooden pillar and knock the feeder around, spilling the feed all over. I am thinking of hanging a second baffle directly under the feeder itself, hoping that works.
Great video, exactly what I was looking for. Informative, well done with humor. Based on this, I hope to eliminate the problem of losing fruits to squirrels. I am going to trim away low branches, and wrap the trunks with plastic. I am hoping for a successful year this time. Thanks so much!
I apparently have Olympic squirrels here in East Texas, they are capable of jumping 6 feet to my bird feeder. It takes them many attempts but they do not give up. I plan to make an obstacle course also and will try to add videos as to my results.
Awesome video. I saw another one a few years ago. Tried it and and have not had one fail. I used a standard 10’ ground rod. One clamp on the rod about 12 inches from the top. A pvc cap with a hole to fit over the ground rod A 4” pvc tube fitted to the cap. And built a bird feeder / house on the top. The squirrels can’t jump the 7 feet. They can climb the rod but can’t get through the cap or climb outside the tube. I can move it anywhere there is not a taller structure for them to jump across.
I have a suet feeder that hangs on a chain. The squirrels can’t climb down easily so they learned to haul up the feeder like a fish on a line. Smart little buggers.
I have had an ongoing struggle with squirrels. My bird feeder was at 5' (60"). I had a pvc pole with a metal baffle. They finally were able to jump that high, so I raised it to 7 feet
Cool! Were they grey squirrels? If so I'd love to see some video...I never could get them to jump vertical anything over 46" after bout 3 months of film. I've no doubt that there are some out there that can though!
One of the birds was saying, it would be a whole lot easier to eat around here if these stupid flying rodents would stop trying to attack our food! 😁😬😂😀🐶

I had 48 in mind, but our tree rats are bigger in Texas
The more difficult it's made on the squirrel to try to get to the nuts the more of a dilemma it becomes for him!
