Sometimes I feel like we're in the 1950s when I read some of the comments here about Cristina and her view on kids. She has a right not to want kids no matter how adorable Owen's kids with her would be. She told him BEFORE they were married she didn't want them. You can't convince someone they want to be a mother and if the genders were reversed, people would say find a different guy who wants kids not call him selfish and a jerk for simply knowing what he wants and doesn't.
I'm with Cristina... it was always clear she didn't want kids, and for him to say for her to consider doing something for him? you don't compromise on babies!!
This is why you need to talk about things before getting too serious with someone, let alone getting married. You can't make someone want a child and you can't make someone not want a child, it's too important.

While it's true in a marriage, it should be discussed together - Owen isn't the one who will have morning sickness, or cravings or have to live as a pregnant woman for nine months. He's not going to be the one who breastfeeds or produce milk. He's not the one who has to go through the pains of childbirth. He's not the one who would have to live with the resentment of their child for taking them away from surgery. It should be a mutual decision if you're married but ultimately, it is the woman's choice because it's HER body. HER pregnancy. Owen should never have married Cristina knowing this about her or expecting her to change for him.

i think cristina did everything right. she didn't have to tell own about the baby. the cristina of season 1 probably wouldn't have (and didn't, actually!) she told him and talked about it with him and waited like he asked. but in the end it's her decision and he has no right to hold it against her. i honestly think owen is the ass in this situation.
Something to think about is the fact that she always said didn't want kids, she got pregnant, she had a miscarriage, she had a crying breakdown, and then she learned to have a life normally. So now that she is pregnant again, that might be in her minds right now. I wonder why she never told Owen about her miscarriage because that would have probably made this a lot easier.

I see it from both sides. Cristina is scared to death, she lost a baby before and it almost ruined her, she's scared she can't handle it and won't have enough love for a baby, Owen AND her career. Owen will help her realize that there is no end to love (he tried to in the finale, she'll come around). And from Owen's view, his dream is a family that includes children and she is threatening to take taht away. They will work together to overcome their fears & end up stronger on the other side!
they broke my heart with this finale! but i can't wait for S8, Cristina and Meredith living together, first one hormonal the other one a mother, all freaking out, driving each other crazy, it's gonna be great!! don't know how they're gonna fix the CO thing, though....
I totally agree with Cristina you can't give a little on a baby if you're sure you don't want children and you certainly can't have one just for your partners sake because what kind of life was that child going to have growing up knowing it's mother didn't want to have them.

OMG. I just read an Interview with Shonda. She said she still does not know how the Christina-Owen storyline will continue. As much as I want this baby, I dont want it that much if it means they break up. This could be the most terrible thing to happen! Please Shonda do not break them up!!!!!!! Please dont! No Mer was always there but you forgot at that time Mer was fighting with Derek because of the Alzhimers trials, Chief firing her because of Owen for some time, Derek refused to talk to her, when they were given Zola she was on her own derek went into the woods, both of them had alot going on, and when Tina moved to mer house they talked about she stayed with Mer for a while, Mer there for her even though she was having fight with Derek she was there for her.

@babzie Yes she does have a right not to want kids, but you see, Owen isn't forcing Cristina to have kid o.O! Owen told her in the other scene, "I'm not saying we do this, I'm just saying let's think." He's just asking her to think about it some more and include him in the decision of having the baby. I understand both their respective points of views and it could go both ways, but I have no idea what Shonda wants to do with them.

He asked her to think about it TOGETHER and she made the decision alone. If Cristina really didn't want kids she would taken a more drastic measure of contraception - like tie her tube - but she didn't. And in that scene outside the hospital she showed she has doubts. How convenient it is to blame Owen every time they have a fight. I rest my case.

She said with her own words that she would love that baby, but she scheduled the abortion in the same day when Owen asked her to just talk and think about it. That was a rushed decision for something very serious. I repeat I get Cristina, she is scared she doesn't trust Owen completely, her abandonment issues aren't entirely solved. But I get Owen too and it seems to me unfair to blame him for everything. They're both right and wrong.

I found this a very difficult. I haven't the slightest idea what will happen and I don't know on whos side I'm. I kinda understand Cris. I'm team-CO too. But I definitely have to be in the minority and defend Owen and the marriage, and cheer for Cristina's growth. We see some and then she regresses back to the scared, selfish, arrogant surgeon which as we all know as Cristina Yang fans as a defence mechanism. I think Cristina put up her wall at 9 and decided to be the best heart surgeon ever. She never imagined life with any other factors. Owen just asked her to pause and let him in the decision. She didn't.

I don't know why I have had a sudden thought: Shonda wants Owen to be single in order to 'interfere' between Teddy and Henry's love story. On the other hand, Cristina will undergo the abortion process, but she won't realize that she is still pregnant until it is too late. then, the baby will be born, so Owen+Cristina will end up happily together the 8th season . Unfortunately, Henry dies during that season, Teddy blames Cristina for every single painful thing and she moves to Germany eventually.

I think Cristina is going to keep the baby. I've read an interview with Kevin McKidd and he said that Shonda first planned that Cristina would get pregnant in season 6 and that Cristina and Owen would raise the baby together, but she said it was too early to do it, so she came up with the Cristina/Owen/Teddy triangle... She saved the baby-think for later. So I think now, Cristina and Owen are going to raise this baby together (which means everything will be alright with them!!:D)

Cristina for being unwilling to listen to his side (even fi she knows her mind won't change) and him for kicking her out. But angst is good! I know they'll work it out in S8. @babzie Yes she does have a right not to want kids, but you see, Owen isn't forcing Cristina to have kid o.O! Owen told her in the other scene, "I'm not saying we do this, I'm just saying let's think." He's just asking her to think about it some more and include him in the decision of having the baby.
I understand both their respective points of views and it could go both ways, but I have no idea what Shonda wants to do with them.
@luciferhummingbird And BTW I don't think he threw her out of the house, he didn't say "Get your things and get out I don't wanna see you." He was referring in that moment to get out, because what she did hurt him too much. The fact is she wants that baby, but she is too scared to admit it, because she might love it more that surgery, and that's what represented her the whole life.Things are changing fast for Cristina, she's scared and she completely shuts down.

@luciferhummingbird I think he showed he got her point of view in every scene. Cristina kept shutting him down and just saying "NO". He asked her to think about it TOGETHER and she made the decision alone. If Cristina really didn't want kids she would taken a more drastic measure of contraception - like tie her tube - but she didn't. And in that scene outside the hospital she showed she has doubts. How convenient it is to blame Owen every time they have a fight. I rest my case.
@luciferhummingbird A child that she wants to get rid off. She said with her own words that she would love that baby, but she scheduled the abortion in the same day when Owen asked her to just talk and think about it. That was a rushed decision for something very serious. I repeat I get Cristina, she is scared she doesn't trust Owen completely, her abandonment issues aren't entirely solved. But I get Owen too and it seems to me unfair to blame him for everything. They're both right and wrong.

I think nobody's right and nobody's wrong here.They just keep not listening to each other.She doesn't think she can make it and be a good mother because she didn't grow up in a warm and loving family(just look at her mom) and she's afraid she 'll just like her.He's her opposite ,he grew up in a completely different family so he has a different idea of family.When she'll be able to tell him about her fears i'm sure they'll get back together, but i fell this baby will live

In reality, I would think the same......but you know...the problem is, really, that owen was brought into the show as a love interest for cristina....I got hooked on the show again, because KMK showed up and because they had and still have this amazing chemistry....for me, it just wouldn't be the same if they broke up and it would break my heart ;) I think I couldn't watch the show anymore....we'll see how everything progresses :D

I found this a very difficult. I haven't the slightest idea what will happen and I don't know on whos side I'm. I kinda understand Cris. She never wanted to have children, but why did she have to decide to get an abortion on the same they she found out she was pragnent. She could've waited a little longer and think it trough with Owen. And I understand owen want's the baby and that he wants Cris tot think about it but he made it sound like a compromise. I'm team-CO too. But I definitely have to be in the minority and defend Owen and the marriage, and cheer for Cristina's growth. We see some and then she regresses back to the scared, selfish, arrogant surgeon which as we all know as Cristina Yang fans as a defence mechanism. I think Cristina put up her wall at 9 and decided to be the best heart surgeon ever. She never imagined life with any other factors. Owen just asked her to pause and let him in the decision. She didn't.

Yes, you're right. It's her life etc., but she's a WIFE. In a marriage you can't make decisions like that on your own. It's Owen's decision too. Personally, I think that he should have ended up this relationship long time ago because it seems like she's the most important in this marriage. If you are in a relationship, you have to make decisions like that TOGETHER! It's strange that she was pregnant twice without wanting kids and she's a doctor. They should have done something with it.

Huh? They did discuss it, you just saw it. Just because it didnt end in a "yes" doesn't mean it wasnt considered, or discussed. Sometimes you dont need to discuss it either, a child is undoubtedly a huge responsibility. Christina has always been clear about not wanting children, that's something I believe only an individual can make for themselves. You should never bring a child into the world that you cant take care off, and that's not talking about money. Christina would've neglected that child, and who wins then?

I just cant identify with her, because I think Owen is a good man, they have a wonderful home and good marriage....or maybe its because I want a baby myself so desperate since years and it didnt work out. I hope Cristina keeps the baby and let's Owen think she had an abortion that would be a great story. I think the first half of Season 8 is going to be about Meredith and Cristina leaning on each other and trying to help each other renew themselves.

I don't know why I have had a sudden thought: Shonda wants Owen to be single in order to 'interfere' between Teddy and Henry's love story.
On the other hand, Cristina will undergo the abortion process, but she won't realize that she is still pregnant until it is too late. then, the baby will be born, so Owen+Cristina will end up happily together the 8th season .
Unfortunately, Henry dies during that season, Teddy blames Cristina for every single painful thing and she moves to Germany eventually.

I think Cristina is going to keep the baby. I've read an interview with Kevin McKidd and he said that Shonda first planned that Cristina would get pregnant in season 6 and that Cristina and Owen would raise the baby together, but she said it was too early to do it, so she came up with the Cristina/Owen/Teddy triangle... She saved the baby-think for later. So I think now, Cristina and Owen are going to raise this baby together (which means everything will be alright with them!!:D)
