Tyler nice flag pole. I was very happy to see that you showed a lot of respect for the flag by placing it in on your fan during layout rather then placing it on the ground. I commend you on that a lot of people maybe didn't catch that while viewing your video.
strong winds had blown my flag off the side of my front door one night. i work evenings and had went to bed about 230am. flag still up....ran into a friend of mine said he drove by my house going to work, 6am, and saw my flag on the ground. i got up at 10am and it was back on my house by the front door.........so,,,,,,,some great patriot stopped and put my flag back up...still could'nt tell you who did it, but thank you
Just built it this weekend per your directions, just added a gold finial ball to the top. Worked out great! Saved hundreds of dollars. Thanks Tyler. God Bless America!
I just got my house built after a 3 year project... I'm so excited to do this... Thank you for showing us how to put the flag up... It's been a dream of mine to have our country flag flying proudly at my house.
I built this pole few years ago following this video. Worked perfect, very strong through blizzards and high winds. Excellent job and Thank you for vid👍
Just a quick comment on the PVC sleeve to save a whole bunch of time. If you are using 2" galv pipe for the bottom of the pole, you can get 2.5" PVC conduit (it is gray, all the home stores carry it). This is almost an exact match for the exterior diameter of the 2" elec galv pipe, it only takes a very small shim of the galv pipe for a very tight fit. This will save you a huge amount of time making the sleeve. All the rest is great.
Great job on the video friend. I sell flagpoles myself both residential and commercial. The only issue I have with screwed together flagpoles is the only overlap of the poles is the threaded part. High winds stress that area pretty good unless it is stainless. I have even replaced stainless ones just like it. Also the sleeves we use are a couple inches bigger diameter and we fill with sand around the pole to act as a buffer and it gives the pole some room to give. These are just the way we do our commercial poles. Great video all the way around Tyler. Great use of the kids and the support for the flag while doing the assembly! 25 yr Army vet here
I've had four aluminum poles break off and was trying to figure out an easy way to make a better one. This is perfect! One thing I would recommend is to use as big a pulley as possible, because they get a lot of wear up there and will usually fail way sooner than you'd like.
Great video I like how your kids played their part in your project and your daughter singing at the end was icing on the cake. God bless you and your family, thanks for sharing.
I have always wanted a good flagpole, after watching this video I hit the big box store and a few hours later I have the pest looking flagpole in the neighborhood. thanks for this how to video!
I fly my the flag every day, not only to celebrate the greatest country on earth, but also to honor those that put their lives on the line for this country. God Bless America!
+don trump Possible although it is significantly shorter than other things around, and if it gets hit it is right into the ground so it should be fine.
***** well that is my concern, it is on the ground but it is insulated by PVC pipe (to avoid corrosion). If a lightning strikes, it wont have an easy path to defuse into the ground
Tyler G I think we only get another flag is if we find a new state or take over a state then we will have a another star and we can a make a another flag that presents the place and yes we need a another flag
Looks good Tyler! one thing we did when we put our flag up was mark the rope where the half mast mark is, it just makes it much easier when we have to.
Great job as always Tyler. I have "Old Glory" hanging from my front porch as a tribute to all our service men, past & present. I may copy your setup, it really nice. Beautiful family too!
Great Idea of using two conduits of different sizes with the taper for the top pipe. Old Brass Bed Top fixture makes a nice finishing touch for the top of the pole. I would have taken a little extra concrete, make a circular or square form and make a little pad at the base of the pole. A Two Feet by Two Feet pad would look good with 4, 1 foot square floor tile place in the wet concrete, that the inside corners of the tile next to the pole were cut to make way for the pipe.
Great video and a good job well done. I have a flag off the corner of my front porch and I hope some day to get it on a higher pole and out from the house a little bit. I'm not sure how long I have been a subscriber but those little ones have sure grown over this time. Man I love the singing give her a kiss for me. God Bless my friend.
I have a Harbor Freight flagpole that I installed about a year or so back. It is extendable but has an issue with the plastic devices that allow the flag to swing side to side as it unfurls. The pieces sometimes slip downward, and I had to go out today and add some heater hose clamps to stop that from happening. They really don't show, so no real problem with the repair done. The plastic piece which holds the clip to allow a snapping or such to attach to the flag is no longer working correctly, as the high Texas heat has likely allowed the plastic of it to warp a bit and snag when it should be free to turn. I wanted to hook up the same system as you are using with the eyehook and pulley and all, so your video is helpful, and I just now need to go get the various parts. What is the best rope to use for this set up? I didn't see what exactly you used to anchor the rope at the lower end of the pole. Anything special in that? As is, the Harbor Freight pole does not really allow a large, cloth flags to be used, as those plastic parts on the pole just snag up too much and the weight of those flags just allow the flag to hang or draped down even in a high wind. The lighter weight flags work well but fade too rapidly and tatter too easily. Thanks for the video and info on it. As a vet, I love the flag that I served under, and it always makes me proud to see it properly flying and being respected.
How is your pole holding out, I have had mine built for about 5 years after coming across your video and the top pole has started to bend to the tension side of the lanyard because the threads of the pipe and fitting have rusted enough overtime here in Florida that there is barely any threads left. It was so beautiful for about 4 years.. hope yours is holding up better.
Great job Tyler. You had some good helpers on this project and your daughter did an awesome job on the song. LOL almost fell off my chair when you were past out on the lawn.
I haven't been too impressed with any of these flag videos I see. I'm trying to do a hundred foot or so pole and weld it all. Weld a nicer top too. Have lights at night. Have it up on a hill.
Let's get up, Patriots, and start hanging our Flags out there! We need to fly our Flags! I'm going to build my flagpole that I have a great idea on how to build a very nice one! Salute the Flag!
I dig it brother. Thanks for the video. I am going to do this in a couple weeks when my new house is finished. Did u get the pipe and fittings from a plumbing supply store ?
Beautiful flag pole and real easy to use instructions, however I don’t particularly like loosing 3 ft of the pole into the ground. Does anyone have any suggestions?
You could mount it like how most light poles and heavy duty basketball hoops mount...4 threaded rods sticking up from a concrete base (poured in the ground) then you use large nuts to level and secure it.
Your daughter brought a tear to my eye singing, God bless y'all and her voice is beautiful! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Tyler nice flag pole. I was very happy to see that you showed a lot of respect for the flag by placing it in on your fan during layout rather then placing it on the ground. I commend you on that a lot of people maybe didn't catch that while viewing your video.
Respect to people and objects as due is an important rule in my life and I hope to convey that. Thanks for watching!
I noticed, he did the right thing.
So did I

My friend your flagpole SI G.I pipe?
Thanks. The daughter did a wonderful job singing.
Thanks Stephen, she did a great job!

Beautiful how you got your babies involved in helping put up Old Glory. Memories that will last a lifetime for them. Great job dad! ☝️🥴👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Having your little girl singing there at the end was the cherry on top. Awesome!
It is adorable, thanks for watching!
Great video. Its ok you don't explain everything, I don't like ppl just babbling. Straight to the point. Love the ending.

Good project. Still like the way you involve the kids so much in your projects. Those two are so precious.
They are, and growing up so fast. Thanks for watching John!
So proud of you for doing this and being an example for your children
Thanks for the kind comment John!

Love it. The best part was your little girl signing. Thanks for supporting America.
+Jay Holt Thanks for watching Jay!
I have always wanted a good flagpole, after watching this video I hit the big box store and a few hours later I have the pest looking flagpole in the neighborhood. thanks for this how to video!
Never thought of putting the pole in a sleeve. That makes it easy to replace the pole if needed. Awesome video. Your kid stole the show.
That's the idea, I hope I can get it out if I need to! Thanks for watching Bill.
Outstanding job, Dad! Kids are the cutest too! My toddler is just learning about flags, and reveille!!!
Thank You Tyler. I have a flag pole but need a bear pole, a birdfeeder I can send up and down. This gave me some good ideas
Thanks for the DIY flagpole video Great job 👍 Your daughter sang beautifully too💓 from down under, Australia 🇦🇺
I fly my the flag every day, not only to celebrate the greatest country on earth, but also to honor those that put their lives on the line for this country. God Bless America!

Merci pour les paroles aimables et pour regarder!
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
thank you. we need more flags In this country right now.
Yes we do. Thanks for watching, much appreciated.
+Tyler G isnt this going to attract lightnings on storms?
i always thought these poles were directly grounded to earth to help with this
+don trump Possible although it is significantly shorter than other things around, and if it gets hit it is right into the ground so it should be fine.

+Kyle Thomas That's a great idea man! Unfortunately it happens all to often nowadays. Thanks for watching.
Yea I know exactly what you mean!
I love the way you get the kids involved!!!!
Thanks Dave....hoping to pass on some knowledge!
That is awesome! Love the patriotism! Your kids will grow up with appreciation for this great flag and what it stands for!
I'll bet this would also work for a martin or a bat house, etc., with a hinge setup at the base for raising up the extra weight.
So Beautiful my friend!
Thanks George!
Awesome job, Looks like your Daughter is a total Daddy's girl !!! So are my two daughters : )
Great job as always Tyler. I have "Old Glory" hanging from my front porch as a tribute to all our service men, past & present. I may copy your setup, it really nice. Beautiful family too!
Thanks Rick....good luck if you make your own. Really makes a great change to your property.
Thanks for the video, I had been wanting a flagpole but didn't want to spend a fortune. Great job.
Glad I could help
Outstanding work and beautiful family! The singing was great...nice video.
Looks great! Love your little one singing. That is awesome

Nice work! Love how you were careful as to not let the flag to the ground
Respect where it's due. Thanks for watching Barry!
outstanding JOB! I just paid $500 a year ago to have a 25ft flag put in. Yours is nice and probably stronger then mine.
I have noticed several people around me that have purchased flag poles that are bent now....not this one! Thanks for watching Jay!
Your welcome! mine isn't bent its a solid one piece but yours looks stronger lol.
Nice to see you had your daughter sing. I was hoping for some sort of fan fare 👍
Great job buddy can you tell me what size and length pipe you used and how tall was it when you finished it thanks

Just got a chance to watch this. Great job. I wasn't sure at first what the purpose for the PVC was.
Still not sure if I can get the pole out though! Hope I don't need to. Thanks for watching Josh. New Channel?

cool going to start this project this week for sure! Sweet!
Thinking about a pole like this for a bat house. Would you have done anything differently?
Very cool. Awesome flagpole brother 👍
Great how to on how to make your own flag pole. Wait for the ending...
Great Video thanks for sharing, my son wants a Flag pole too but I don't feel like spending $500 to have one..
20-ft poles run from $111 to $200 for the low-end residential poles. Also include a flag. You still have to dig a hole, though.
Thumbs up. I have always wanted to fly a flag in my yard also.
Thanks Chuck, has been a dream of ours for some time, we love it.
When I saw you start digging, I was hoping you wouldn't show that whole process, then you cracked me up.
and seriously, you do some really cool stuff.
Another great video with wonderful singing too!!
She did great didn't she! Thanks for watching Jeff.
Nice job BUT your daughter STOLE the show - it was the perfect ending 2 a perfect raising of the flag - thanks 💕👍🏼💕
Glad you liked it Mary and yes, she totally stole the show. She was so proud of herself as she should be. Thanks for watching!
Great Video! Even showed how to tie a figure 8 knot!
Way to go Tyler. Great one day project.
Thanks man!
Haha. Laid out on the grass after starting the hole. That's how I feel after carrying the tools out to where I need them. Great idea for a flagpole.
Had to pick the hottest day of the year to dig a hole....figure that out! Thanks for watching Bill.
Let's get up, Patriots, and start hanging our Flags out there! We need to fly our Flags!
I'm going to build my flagpole that I have a great idea on how to build a very nice one!
Salute the Flag!
Great video! I will definitely be taking some inspiration from your build.

I dig it brother. Thanks for the video. I am going to do this in a couple weeks when my new house is finished. Did u get the pipe and fittings from a plumbing supply store ?
u are really good with making those have u ever thought about starting a business with making those
DIY and save some money man!

Best. Video. Ever. Great job sir.
That's one amazing looking property! The pole turned out nice, and I especially loved the placement of it - looks great :)
Thanks man. Have always wanted a flag and a circle drive is perfect for it!
Great job i like it alot. and you have a great property for it too.
Thanks Daniel!
