My favorite yugioh player , congrats steven you have been doing exceptionally well these couple of formats wish you all the best with your future events 😊
Amazing input on the deck and im finally convinced to put the branded package in. I was new to this game when i played you at the niagara regionals funny enough it was a mirror match between exosisters and you gave me tips and advices on how to pilot the deck better. You’re the goat
Congrats! Love the list and theory. I just wanna know if bystials were maybe a consideration? What do you side against Branded, as most players claim it's a tough matchup for us.
Bystials definitely seem better now that the format has developped a bit more. If you are scared of branded, more direct hate is good. Dbarrier/belles/bystials in the side helps. Also the IP + Sage board is very good into that deck. Ritual saruvais does nothing, so turning the bodies into ip + guardian + lo is a lot better use of the board. Branded with often be able to play through your board, your job is just to make sure you can play through theirs on the pass back and deal with followup. Ty-phon is also very good in the matchup.
He said for going second he cuts the pots and branded package in heavy combo decks. But on the other side there is a 3. pot in the side deck for going second. Im kinda confused someone get the point ? So if i dont play vs snake eyes fire king i always wanna let the branded and pot in and put handtraps out for boardsbreackerd?
If you play a hand trap heavy matchup, you do not want pots in your deck. You are not happy opening a pot going second because it isn't a hand trap. If you a breaker heavy matchup, you want the pots in your deck. You are happy to open pot going second because you can dig for a dark ruler or LS. The branded cards are generally good in similar matchups as the breakers (floo, kash, mirror) where you just want to overwhelm the opponent.
Congrats! I was wondering what your thoughts on with playing a Crow which is good against mirror and branded along with Rindbrumm in side? Likewise, what about Cosmic Cyclones, and Ghost Belle?
ghost belle is a mandatory to run this format, either main or side, cosmics as well in order to shut off the field spells (fire king island or divine temple) and set backrows.
Side decks can change depending on local metas or meta trends. Cosmic or Belle are both cards I considered, but opted for other cards for some combination of a bunch of reasons. Rindbrumm is something I had considered, I just think crow itself is bad card so I opted not to play that package.
Some combination of diviner targets, second dyno mondo, the extra branded cards, ty-phon and chaos angel. Changes depend on whether you open diviner or branded fusion.
Great job nonetheless! Please can you let us have an insight into your siding patterns? Going second especially - were you removing the branded engine at all? The diviner engine? Ash? Vs fire and other decks 😊
Branded fusion and pots out for 6 hand traps going second versus fire. Versus other non-combo decks, I generally just swap around tech cards without touching engine and just playing the best tech cards for any given matchup.
Do you feel like the 4th ritual (second sauravis) really is worth it? I've been testing with only 3 rituals and I rarely miss the second sauravis. Also the ip+ sauravis end board lisse to ash no?
I like 4 rituals. It helps when cracking boards as it allows to have an addition body to float into. It doesn't come up much but has come up enough times for me to warrant it. The IP + Sauravis board does get punished by ash, but they would have used it on your turn already. So you only really get punished by double ash. Even then, I won't always go for this board. If I have a bunch of tech cards and don't need the slightly stronger board, I'll just end on standard dyna mondo into guardian lo trap. If I have a weaker hand with respect to tech cards, and I need to get the most out of my engine, I will end on the sauravis IP board. It's an in game decision on whether you think your hand is too weak and need to open yourself up to additional lose cons in exchange for a generally stronger board.
I don't like the nadir package. I want more ways to Lo which branded fusion gets but nadir does not. It also means you get destroyed by droll, where branded fusion lets you combo through it.
@@SantoliYugiohYeah,i tested your version shortly after commenting and i have noticed the difference,I can't use winda to win games but i really didn't need her after all....One more question Some people (including Din Kha bui) say that voiceless is branded's easiest matchup,do you agree?
Friend of mine put me on Branded VV and I played it for Vegas and it was so fun seeing the fear in my opponent's eyes when I activated Branded Fusion backed up with the VV board lol.
Ogre just covers better the fire decks (wish they expected to play more then any other deck) and cosmis is not good wen you hand trap your op… like what would you cosmic
I think ogre while someone less predicatable is better versus both fire and the mirror than ghost belle. I didn't play cosmic because I only try to hand trap fire with no breakers, and Lightning storm is better in the other matchups.
Thoughts on maining instant fusion for Millennium-Eyes Restrict and mudragon? MER can play as a physical version of called by, as well as breaking the fire board by going after the princess.
One for one is reasonable, I probably wouldn't cut prep for it though. I like max prep, and the inclusion of one for one can be done without cutting it. I'd probably lean more towards one for one in a pure build instead of the branded version since fusion can send lo anyways. The second question is a bit wide ended; in general I want to have a gameplay going in against the expected meta decks. Side patterns are branded fusion and pots out for 6 hand traps going second versus fire decks. Other decks keep branded fusion in and just swap the weaker hand traps for desired breakers for each individual matchup.
Steven thanks for sharing. How do you play through Lightning Storm when they call back row? Especially if you are going first and you have Strike set. Thanks.
In this format I'll just guardian negate the Lightning Storm. If they have another breaker or talents then it's unlucky. Fortunately, hand traps are very common over breakers this format, so that concern shouldn't happen too much.
I am interested in why you don’t choose to run another albaz fusion target. So if you go for a 2nd Mirrorjade on the followup turn you still have the effect to banish live? Thank you for the Video, it helped me alot.
I have to make decisions somewhere on where to cut off the branded fusion targets in extra deck. It has come up in testing I believe once where I needed the extra fusion, but I just valued all the other cards coming up more.
I don't think its amazing with all the hand traps running around. I'd probably side the impulse, standard RACE lineup in main then just have hand traps. Haven't looked at the deck in a bit but the lists shouldnt look too different than before. Also books in the side to help turb resolve.
Thoughts on Exo this format? I have struggled between picking between voiceless and exo. Getting the xyz's on their turn into Kasp and Asoph is amazing, but the deck feels a bit underpowered otherwise.
I'm not a huge fan of exo in hand trap formats (especially with nib being everywhere). It is definitely a playable deck but voiceless is better at the moment.
I liked belle when witch wasn't being maxxed. Belleing wanted for them to still open witch feels awful. Ogre is kinda weird, but a few things it hits are: Divine temple (pairs well with nib), fire king island (if they send sanctuary and they do sometimes), IP, Apollo, flamberge to put something in S/T zone (so they can't special IP out on your turn and flamberge is off the field so less followup).
I've considered it but I have decided against it. It's unfortunate it gives hiita plays, but if you use it aggressively especially paired with another hand trap, I think it is still one of the better hand traps.
I don't really like the idea of playing another sub par draw in the form of jowgen. Siding it might be reasonable, but I rarely found myself losing just going for mirrorjade plus board.
Bounced a few flamberge when they tried to have that on field as followup after getting trapped. Also removed a princess from field to keep it out of the grave once I baited its effect.
I don't like super poly. I think hand traps are the most effective cards versus the fire decks. Even in the event that I liked super poly as a tech card, I wouldn't cut the branded package for it. Branded fusion is an engine card that helps play through hand traps. Super poly doesn't help with hand traps.
I don't play into nib game 1 unless I have the guardian omni negate still live. If I don't, I play more conservative (unless I have spell to float when they nib). Post game 1, they shouldn't have nib in their deck so I generally don't respect it.
The matchups I wanted LS for are not matchups I want cosmic for. I don't want to 1 for 1 versus floo/kash/VV backrow. I want to just remove all of them. Cosmic is better versus fire king, but I just take the hand trap approach and decide not to have them for this matchup.
The jowgen stuff seems win more. I find it is very rare I get more board broken (at least in a hand trap heavy format). I also don't like having yet another subpar draw in the deck in the form of Jowgen.
