In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. Приколы
I don't know if I've ever seen such heroic resistance to doing a task, and it was glorious.
I don't think it was that intentional >.
@@Bennie58able I suspect that it was totally intentional.
She's a very smart cookie. That was intentional.
@@markjohnson8537 Yep. She's a character in the same way Stewart Lee is a character onstage.
Particularly funny considering how close she got.
Fuck me. I think this is the closest I've ever seen Alex to genuinely losing his shit.
mwuahahahahahahahah true! well done Alex for being a fountain of creativity. Amazing that after all these years the show still feels as fresh as it does.
WORD!
I know it's the closest I've ever been.
She established dominance from the start.
Alex tried to regroup but it was a lost cause.
His little “….oh god” he seemed genuinely distressed 😂
In ep 117 of the taskmaster podcast, alex says that this interview was the highlight of the series and that it was "one of the funniest things" he's been involved

Bridget Christie 101: How to make Alex feel like he's doing the task.
I was going to feel a little sorry for him but Bridget played this beautifully.
Do you think she was playing? If she was, she's a genius.
@@mikemack9701 i was asking my self the same Thing. Either genius or plain stupid😅
That's what everyone is asking the whole series Greg said on multiple occasions that he thought she was smart (or at least she had a reputation of being smart), and she lost that durring all the task
@@jayman1772 The same could be said for Richard Osman, Victoria Coren Mitchell and Paul Sinha. TM has a habit of doing that to it's contestants.
Bridget is the pure embodiment of the infamous "Am I the spider?" quote. Plus, her task outfit is just SO cool.
Katherine Parkinson and Bridget Christie operate on the same wavelength😂
although Bridget is actually competent and equally funny 😂
@@danhosford9923 Oh yeah. (Minor spoiler warning)
Random filler text.
She absolutely killed it in episode 3. What a performance!
This is SUCH an accurate description!
But is there a duck on Judy’s face?
"...the retina..." may be the best ending to a video there's ever been.
yes lmao 🤣
The whole thing was so glorious and the timing was so perfect it almost felt scripted. Can't wait to see what she brings to the rest of the season..!
I guffawed at that after already cackling throughout the video; I'm so excited to see how this season goes!
Yeah all I can think about now is that was she seriously thinking of parts of the eye during the rest of the stroll or did she just remember the retina is part of the eye and felt that would help with the task
It's incredible because the whole time I kept thinking of eye parts she missed, only for her to inexplicably look up from the task and revisit the question.
They filmed this interview the same day as the Maypole, the shoes, the cup snake, and eight personalities tasks... no wonder Little Alex Horne was broken by this point. I do wish I knew what exact order they filmed them in so we could get a better sense of the descent into madness.
How do you know? Where can I find this?
@@edopronk1303 Because they are all clearly at the series 13 special location and, from my understanding, those tasks are always filmed across one day for each contestant.
No one gave mention to it during the first episode, but Birdget's TM outfit is up there as one of the most dapper.
She looks like a female Doctor Who to me - very cool!
@@richardgurney1844 I could see her being the Doctor and doing the thing with the glasses - it’s a great outfit!
I am in love with the outfit!
A very kind of Spanish flamenco dancer vibe
And her outfit in the studio for the first episode was a latex catsuit ... and T-shirt.
Two personalities, so different that they can barely understand each other, but still have fun and make us laugh.
great way of describing it, i've had those conversations with people, like we aren't connecting, even talking about the same thing, like we're talking to each other but having different conversations. not much anymore because i purposely avoid human contact when possible.
“Do you have a favorite number?”
“No.”
This whole thing is a master class of two people who know the rules of improv and comedy and then shatter them all at once.
Looked more like someone refusing to improvise because they were rubbish at it.
@@jamesrowden303 Are you kidding? She was fucking hilarious.
Zany situations and absurd non sequiturs aren't the only things that exist in comedy.
@@Unagodd It's a good job too, because the entire premise of this show is "zany" and "non sequitur" comedy. Which, as I have heavily inferred, I think doesn't work.
@@jamesrowden303 This response makes absolutely no sense, so I'm just going to give you a thumbs up.👍
@@Unagodd I thought my response was pretty clear. I suspect you are now being deliberately obtuse. As a debating tactic, that's pretty uncool.
Holy shit ... I dont think Ive ever seen Alex so... flustered? ... he seemed to be genuinely confused as to how to deal with some of her answers :D
Hope that continues through the series.
"Have you been watching me? I don't think I was aware you were watching me." How bad is her eyesight?! 😂
@@SquiresIsle you mean how greasy are her glasses?
Oh she does it more than once to him this season..
Just a moaning mini and frustrating to watch
Just when everybody (even Alex) thought Bridget is going to be one of those hopelessly clueless ones, she came up with "retina".
Soon after picking up the coffee spill on Alex.
And the step count so close to the target.
There's more to this woman than meets the retina.
She's Taskmaster's Columbo, the bumbling exterior is just to lure you in to a false sense of security.
@@Jambobist Absolutely. Judging from many of the comments on here, many fell for it. Maybe even Alex. In this interview at least.
🙂 nicely worded. Gave me a chuckle!
@@Jambobist "Oh! Just one more thing... the retina."
"And the step count so close to the target. "
I think that was helped by the fact that Alex told her when they were on 410 steps, then ran out of questions, then stood there waiting for her to say the line to end the task because he knew they'd gone over the count.
If Alex had kept asking questions they could have been walking forever.
Alex's looks after she says the final "pardon?" and "what?" were the greatest, my favorite of these interviews by far
Bridget Christie is the first Taskmaster contestant to personify confusion. Incredible stuff. I'm an instant fan.
You forget Johnny Vegas was on series 10
“The Task begins when Alex takes his first step Taskmaster”
And the way she says “Line” when reading out every Task.
7:15 I love, how Alex wanted to end the interview so much, that he actualy told Bridget the amout of steps :D
the exhausted laugh and the look into the camera towards the end. alex has met his match
The way Alex stops himself from exasperatedly saying ‘yes but have a guess’ and then softens his tone is hilarious!
If this was part of an episode, the episode's title would have to be "There's nothing inside a spider"
Just eyes and legs. And storage.
Or "The retina"
That was more of a task for Alex than it was Bridget💀
"Have I enjoyed YOU watching ME??" Dying laughing at that and Alex's reaction 😂
This would have been a thousand steps if Alex hadn't gotten frustrated. Taskmaster is so entertaining. She gave up counting so quickly but her guessing was so accurate it seems.
Worth noting that he also got frustrated fairly close to the target number, so it's not like they kept walking for ages after and then got frustrated. Bridget really did a good job on him and fair play to her.
Really did a good job on him? She is actually just stupid.
There is something about the awkwardness and constant low level squabbling I find hilarious. This series has a ton of potential. I adore all the contestants.
I only like sophie and Chris. The rest are unfunny and try too hard to be funny
I've never seen Alex so close to a breakdown 😅
With the spilt coffee as well, it was a really bad day for him.
After watching tonight’s show with the shoes, I think it’s safe to say we have found the first ever contestant who is capable of irritating Alex and turn his brain inside out and she is sensational.
We've got a combo of Sara Pascoe and Katherine Parkinson. I'm very excited about the upcoming season
Exactly what I was thinking and going to write! 😅👍
I was going to say Sara Pascoe and Charlotte Ritchie, but I think you win this task!
"Yesterday I genuinly pointed the remote control at the oven. I am not going first". 😅
Add a bit of Desky Dennis’ litigiousness, and Paul Chowdhry’s surrealism, and you’re bang on. It’s like she was lab designed to be the perfect Taskmaster contestant.
I thought she was 1 of them at 1st
this is probably my 7th time watching this. it's so wild and perfect.
i love that you can actually hear the crew laughing at 8:15 and 9:00
absolute perfection from start to finish. what a woman.
I've lost count of how many times I've watched it.
Same now. I utterly adore Bridget.
I love her business with the written Task throughout the Series: saying “line” and “Taskmaster”, trying to reread the Task after putting her glasses away, and having to hold it at arm’s length. She’s just naturally funny.
She has to be a different species, a better one mind you
each step was supposed to reflect a second from the start of the interview until the end. the solution being that as soon as the last question is asked, you thank Alex and end up very close to the required number. It's also the reason that after several short answers he checks the pedometer and jogs on the spot, to catch up the expected steps at any given point.
Alex is hilarious during this whole bit, but the funniest thing was Bridget after the task is over just staring at the task and says “…the retina.”
🎵"Does a spider have a heart? Does a spider have a soul? Does a spider have lungs? Does a spider have a goal?" 🎶
I see that Tim Key's been working hard as the "Task Consultant", but surely Watto should also get that credit.
I paused the video to scroll down and see if any NMJ fans were watching. The real question is indeed not whether a spider has lungs
She is the only one I have ever seen get on Alex's nerves. I love her.
I am absolutely certain that, as soon as she saw this task, she decided "nope, that's bullshit, I'm just gonna take the piss out of alex"
Especially with the outfit I feel like Bridget Christie and Sarah Pascoe are a real life version of Spy vs Spy from Mad Magazine
Well if you are looking for a competition between two stupid women whose careers exist solely because they were in relationships with woke left wing male comedians who got their work from the BBC and Channel 4. This is why we need to defund the BBC, end the licence fee and sell Channel 4. So we don't subsidise untalented communists
Gritty reboot when?
Wow she’s going to make us enjoy every bit of this season🤣🤣🤣 The answer lag at the end is priceless hahahaha
I don't know at what point during the walk Bridget realized she could fuck with Alex, but her little grin at 7:05 is everything. The flusterer becomes the flustered!
Bridget seems tremendous. As far as “I’ll judge this persons entirety from a RUclips clip” goes. That’s how we do it now right?
Love the style.
Yes it is, that and RUclips comments.
In this case it just shows how tremendous she is. A clip you can trust.
@@SquirrelNutkins honestly i find her so annoying on the show
This is one of the best things to come out of Taskmaster and solidifies my expectations that Bridget will be my S13 favourite
Although I've watched through Taskmaster multiple times, I've never watched these interviews before, and boy howdy have I been missing out. I love how Bridgette is able to break Alex more than any other contestant. I have to wonder if this interview was filmed on the same day as the "find Alex's shoe" challenge.
Bless whoever decided they should upload the full thing onto youtube
"Who will win your series of Taskmaster?"
- "I don't know."
"Where will you come?"
- "That's the same question!"
Those are some very clever fighting words!
Bridget Christie is basically the mirror universe Sara Pascoe
This feels like a reenactment of what happened in the Tower of Babel
How does a spider breathe?
Through its eyes
😂
when she's cracking up at 3:50 it's so infectious it takes me out every time😭that's the moment which sets the crew off laughing as well😂what an icon. even alex laughs. that's when you know it's good
Holy quirkiness, Batman. This woman's awesome
The absence of any music or laugh track makes this feel so surreal... It's one step removed from a fever dream
This is like watching Romesh and Alex talk, but this time it’s Alex’s turn to become slowly unhinged with frustration at your conversation partner.
8:51
Her genuine "Was that an interview?" and then Alex's awkward, embarrased expression is giving major
'Is it in, yet?' vibes.
Poor Alex. 😂
It wasn't genuine it was her trying too hard to be funny
And then the proverbial "don't worry, it happens to a lot of guys" with "the retina" after alex had already walked away ashamed
I have to come back and rewatch this periodically because it is glorious.
Dear Britain
Can Bridget please be the next Doctor Who. Dressed like this, with this personality.
Thanks
I would love to see that too. But writers can mess up anything. :(
Seems like Taskmaster is showcasing us possible Doctor Who actors. Johnny Vegas (wouldn't even need a script. Just give him a sonic screwdriver and let him run around on set). Charlotte Ritchie (in her dungarees and a carefree attitude), and now Bridget dressed up as Lee van Cleef.
All would make excellent Doctors, I think.
@@wohlhabendermanager Lee Van Cleef! That's who it is! Thanks! That one was really bugging me.:)

Anyone coming back to watch this after it was referred to during season 14 interviews? 😁
I’ve been following the career of Bridget Christie for a while - particularly on the radio. She is bewilderingly brilliant.
Not seen much of Bridget before, but I think she could become one of my favourite contestants of all time!
Do you find very dim people funny?
@@dlaldlaldlanutsntnstn1418 well I'm laughing at you aren't I?
@@dlaldlaldlanutsntnstn1418 She isn't dim, far from it. She's played it wonderfully.
She's definitely my favourite of all time.
she’s so chaotic, i love it :D also alex being bemused at every answer she gave was everything
Bridget was my favourite going in and this has only made me root for her all the more.
I don’t think she’s going to win given how many times she reread this task and still misunderstood, but she’s very entertaining to watch.
But you know how much the TM likes to watch Alex suffer. That can get you alot of points over a season. 😉
I love this so much, by the look on his face at times, Bridget has got Alex wondering if he's gone completely mental
One of the best taskmaster clips from any season!
The moment Alex says god under his breath was fantastic.
Funniest ten minutes in a while, spilled my drink
This is positively the best interview I’ve ever witnessed!!!
She's giving slightly more persistant Katherine Parkinson 😂
Very much so, except KP seemed more outwardly composed while I suspect Bridget is a bit more internally composed.
I had the same feeling as well😁
They’re both brilliant! Truly enjoyed this 🥳
I just adore this girl! She makes Alex so mad and it’s so cute and pure!
I'm 31 and this feels juvenile, but I have the biggest crush on Bridget. Extremely funny, sharp, contemplative, incisive, probing and downright beautiful. I can't get enough of seeing her smile. Don't tell my missus.
Absolutely amazing. I cried from laughing so hard. Truly a one of a kind comedian
I didn't know who Bridget Christie was before TM, but she's amazing. The incredulousness and confusion at simple questions is brilliant.
"Do you have a favourite number?"
"...
...
...no?!?"
QI. Check out her appearances there. That's where I became acquainted with her. Sadly, there's not a lot of Bridget Christie RUclips that I've found. But I adore her, adore her, adore her.
@@FLQueerLiberal1982 Thanks for the tip!
@@espurious you're welcome!
I love how they made the interview itself line up so closely with the step count. Fair play
Really? Seems to me like he ran out of questions before 500 steps even.
@@samsprague3158 Most likely because most of her answers were fairly short
@@samsprague3158 That's why he kept checking the pedometer, to stop them and catch up
Probably the best interview in all of Taskmaster. 🤣
Easily the best one of these yet
The, uh, the retina.
Gawd this was silly. I loved it.
this video was everything I hoped for and more
This was so awkwardly brilliant
Even sitting here and just watching someone do this task, I was genuinely feeling confused by the questions and counting
The quality of this video is awesome, Reminds me of watching a movie
Spain. That's not a number.
Also, Bridget has been my number one dream contestant for ages.
These two would make a great double act. She’s so funny.
I'm already in love with her. This will be a brilliant season.
I laughed so hard when Bridget yelled out 'The Retina' at the end
Bridget has kid energy in the most hilarious way. I get the same sort of answers from my 5 year old.
Bridget is really innovative and unique. Loookng forward to to seeing more of her on taskmaster.
after watching all of them, this one is by far the best
Aaaw. So good to see tasks coming over from the licensed versions. I think this originally was in the Swedish Bäst i Test. (Or the Finnish one? Damn, I watched so many.)
Just break Alex down in the task somewhere around the steps we have to make is a strange but effective strategy
We're only 1 episode in, and I think I've already found my favourite contestant this series! XD
7:03 I think Alex is genuinely regretting this task , brilliant to watch 😂
I keep coming back and watching it.
Every contestant is going to fail this task because it's meant to be a "polite conversation" and Alex is barely holding the thread of civility together
This video should be filed under "Hilariously awkward gloriousness"! Why do I enjoy Alex being confused and frustrated so much?
Gotta be the most entertained I've been by these reviews, just so hilariously baffled
This is going to be an iconic performance
This is going to be the best series yet..
Ooooooh "Little Alex Horne" has met his match in shenanigans has he? Found my champion for this series!
She's interesting. Should be fun to watch. Bridget trying to make sense of the task tells me she may not have seen TM before. I mean, how often do the tasks make sense? The Lee Van Cleef spaghetti western get-up is a different choice. Think I caught a glimpse of a holster. Very cool that she rides a Triumph.
One of my favorite contestants, love her
The most awkward meeting in history 😂😂
If only she had a cup of tea
I genuinely had to pause it I could feel I was gurning from cringing too hard.
Well, after Joe Thomas' and Sian Gibson's.
@@lemmypop1300 That's exactly what I thought.
she tried to read the task again without the glasses lol
one of the best things never seen on taskmaster
When he asked her to ask a question, she could have asked “what is the figure on the pedometer?” 😂
I adore her chaotic energy. She really threw Alex off his game. And it said “keep pace” not that you have to use the same style of steps.
If you counted, you would need to do the same style to get an accurate reading, little luck with that though.
Even before then it seems. At 7:12 he scolds her for looking and then answers immediately when she asks the number. Going by the length of the clip, that number was probably the truth.
Ep 5 tolds us she had no idea what that device was. ;)
I've no idea who she is but can't wait to see more of her. This would be a glorious bit of comedy even if it wasn't completely improvised on the spot. This season will be awesome.
- Eyes and legs. And storage.
- Like an electric car?
- Exactly.
I always forget about this bit.
Also Alex said at the beginning of the task he wasn’t allowed to tell you the number of steps yet she spotted 83 and he actually told her 410
He knew this was the interview and not a task that would get judged. It's allowable :)
He says that but it wasn't on the task so it wasnt set in stone
he just said she couldn't look. I don't think he said he couldn't tell her. 🤔
And Bridget, incredulously, a at the end when Alex checks the final count: "what are you looking at?"
So, so good. She's an amazing contestant.
