The extension thing is exactly the sort of thing I'd do because of ADHD. I'd see all the construction materials and my brain would say "that's far too much to think about, so I'm going to pretend I didn't see that."
Love to get Jessica on for her view on the story!
"I backed you up!"
"Well, now you can back into a satsuma, and shove it up your ass!"
Still the best interaction ever! 😂
I hope you're well, Rhod. You're wonderful.
Wow! The production team did a great job in restoring the ceramic back to its former gory....
You and James are what makes Series 7 my absolute favorite!! Please do more behind-the-scenes-like interviews!
That series of Taskmaster was just outstanding. I loved it. So many classic, quotable, rewatchable moments. And the outtakes are hilarious.
We're loving reading the comments! We have another video with James coming very soon. Subscribe so you don't miss it.
Just found out about the podcast. This is glorious, gotta love some rhod in the morning 😏
@@CreamAle Welcome! May your mornings be frothy and bright
Rhod and his wife, Sian together in a podcast! Looking forward to hearing from the woman who put up with "staying in garage in Van"! Thanks for this from Massachusetts, USA!
I've been wanting to say this for so long... it wasn't the juice, but that the bean was dry and shrunk!
@@marywood8794 And I get that reference!!! There’s this scattered group of us American fans of British comedy who’ve watched ALL the shows. But what only find each other in RUclips comments sections. Shouldn’t we at least have a subreddit? 😉
This was my favorite season, and these two are the main reason why.
People sometimes forget that Alex is the creator and producer for taskmaster. Him playing Greg's assistant is just part of the schtick.
I think it's only americans that think that, on the count of being a bit 'slow'
Who?
@@t.c.4321 bit rude dude. I’m American. I watch a lot of British tv shows and it’s beyond clear (at least to me) that Alex is the mastermind. He’s a very very smart man, didn’t he go to one of the best universities in England? And he leads the Horne section which is very successful. He plays his part perfectly and if I recall correctly it was not only his idea to make the show but to specifically have Greg host rather than him. There is almost nothing that man won’t do for the sake of comedy and I for one applaud him for it. I’m sure those less familiar with British tv might mistake him for the silly assistant he portrays but to call us all dumb is a bit much.
@@NikkiDoesStufff Yeah that was uncalled for, there are "slow" people everywhere.
@@t.c.4321this whole comment was based on nothing but a pathetic feeling of “superiority” over americans
I love seeing/hearing James on podcasts when he's just being himself!
Their series was my absolute favorite! I'm so glad to see them chatting again
I went to see James Acaster in Toronto on Saturday, i took a hula hoop but the theatre wouldnt let me take it in haha
Yeah that 'nah fair play' moment in taskmaster was amazing and it's still my favourite series.
I am very happy to have discovered this channel! Thank you for sharing your delightful stories with us!
Love some bts scoop! I LOVED the cast on that particular series, no dull moments. Saw a clip of James & Rhod and that’s how I got into watching Taskmaster.
As a huge Taskmaster fan, this felt like group therapy
3:35 honestly ADHD can sometimes feel like it's early onset dementia, especially on a bad day.
Also just a heads up for my fellow ADHDers with a uterus, apparently menopause and perimenopause REALLY makes the ADHD much worse to the point that people have been investigated for dementia, but no it's just ADHD.
This isn't relavent in much way to the video, which is great btw a new podcast to listen to!!!
Really? Omg, thanks for mentioning. I haven't heard about this. My mum had some really rough years that we still haven't found an adequate explanation for. This might be it. I'll look into it. Thank you for the heads up! Then I can prepare myself as well
@@DjurslandsEfterskole no problemo!! Glad to have been helpful!!
I only recently learnt about it myself (definitely experienced it personally with the joys of the ✨ menstrual cycle✨); I'd recommend using search terms like ADHD menstrual cycle, ADHD and menopause etc. For a starting point if you want to find out more information.
Unfortunately, it's not an area that a ton of research has been done in, but it's beginning to pick up (found one journal article from last year for example).
Long story short, dopamine is involved as always and progesterone I believe is as well.
Good luck to yourself as well, and my support to your mother because ADHD is hard enough to manage without hormonal changes and fluctuations, and going through that with no idea of what is happening sounds horrific.
Oh this is important, my mom and I both have ADHD along with other health conditions. Mine are mainly pelvic and exacerbated by hormonal changes, so I want to be ready.
Need to get going (to hang out with my mom, funnily enough), but commenting so I can come back to this later.
Fellow ADHD folx, do me a solid and @ me to help me remember. 🤟
Fun fact! You know how dopamine deficiency cause most symptoms in ADHD? Well, it's also a key part of dementia. And there have been studies that have shown that ADHDers are more likely to get dementia, so. that's stressful
@@lighinz137 oh boy oh boy that is a fun fact!!! Heck!!!
Rhod on Taskmaster was the best thing ever. The creepy Greg video still also has me creasing.
This is brilliant and so hilarious too. Well worth the listen when they talk Taskmaster as Rhod and James were amazing and made the tasks so enjoyable to watch
James keep saying, "You SAW the building materials."
As someone who also has ADHD, I assumed that Rhod didn't even really see the building materials in the garage.
If you're hyperfocused on one crazy scheme, your brain isn't going to pay attention to things irrelevant to that scheme.
Maria from the Norway Taskmaster is similar.
Yeah I found it odd that James couldn't believe that, and figured he must be playing up his disbelief for laughs...then realized not everyone has ADHD 😅
I just finished Kongen Befaler and Maria had me in stiches! She's great!
@@henrykramer365 Yeah but let's be real I don't think James falls under "people who don't have ADHD"
Hi. maving adhd explains so much...
@@TPHRyan I do think James may perhaps be neurologically diverse but I don’t think it is ADHD.
I love hearing about that behind-the-scenes moment - it’s one they’d never release because everyone drops personas. I would love to see it though!
I would give anything for them to release an unedited version of task master
Oh this was one of my favorite seasons of Task Master. Brilliant cast!
10:57 the glimpse at how Rhod experienced Alex's deviousness is great here, because they edited the entire series so make it seem like Rhod was the one tormenting Alex.
As a fan from the US very happy to find this!
I love James and Rhod. What a team. They play great against each other. I sincerely wish they. Would work more together.
my favorite part was 5:46 when they cut to some guy laughing that hadn't appeared at all in the video
He appeared in video around 26 seconds & 8:29 too.
@@arsenal3877 gross
edit: guy edited his comment to make mine look foolish but he originally said "he came at 26 seconds" and HE'S NOT GETTING AWAY WITH IT
@@andracatheduckking257 Not to make you look fool! he came more than once so added that
Every podcast needs a hype man
@@TheFrothPodcast 😂
Rhod has a podcast with Sian?! I'd been waiting for the BBC Radio Wales one to come back for so long that I didn't even think to check if he'd made another!! Amazing
I loved seeing James not playing his on stage persona. He seems so... normal.
He's lovely 🥰
You should listen to his podcast with Ed Gamble...
@@carlalopes8060I've seen some videos where they go to sweets shops and James describes the flavor to Ed because Ed is diabetic. Awesome stuff.
@@charliehorse1967those are great but in the podcasts you ear a lot of personal stories envolving their comedian friends which are hilarious and James shows a lot of his true self 😂
Rhod and James seem so much alike and I think thats part of why they tended to butt heads. A show with them would be hilarious.
This was just great. I need more behind the scenes and outtakes from taskmaster in my life
You two are wonderful, Rhod is always great, but you can tell he's a much happier person with his other half 😊
this was a very lovely watch, smiled the whole way through
I recommended Taskmaster to a friend a while ago and suggested she start with season 7, mainly because of Rhod.
You should also recommend The Froth 😀
@@TheFrothPodcast When I wrote that comment, I had heard of the Froth for all of five minutes =)
I love how this has continued with Rhod taunting James about the extension. Carry on.
This was great! I have just started watching Taskmaster, and your season with James is the best! I've found so many new funny people, thank you for the laughs.
James actually is a fan of the show. You can tell by the way he talks!
I'm probably in the minority, but I really liked Rhod when he hosted Buzzcocks. I was sad that it was the last series ever, but the show had run it's course.
Its still running and now hosted by Greg Davies!
I'm totally with you. As sharp as Amstell was, by the the end of his run I thought the show had become too mean spirited and frankly predictable. Rhod made it more engaging for me again.
Still running!
@@katiewookie2498 You just made my day. Cheers!
@@Phyracy what a refreshing change that made to my usual online interactions 🤣 so cheers yourself! 🍻
When Rhod threw the javelin into the caravan was the funniest / most insane shit ever.
James should have asked Rhod if Alex used that toilet paper during that task...😹😹😹
I was at the recording for the first episode on series 7 and there was an extensive bit by James and Rhod about how Greg had groomed James as a youth, that was never going to be on TV. Hilarious
14:27 You think there's an extended version of the argument? I'll show you an extension! Let me get some cardboard, duct tape, and spray paint...just look on the garage door.
What I would not give to have that footage of Greg and Rhod loosing their minds and Alex giving a slight nod 😂
James is always sitting the furthest away from a microphone I’ve ever seen a podcaster sit.
Love the videos. Keep them up! Much love from Canada 🇨🇦
Excellent convo between Rhod and James. They were wonderful in S7 and I was so thrilled to see them here.
Of course, if anything happens to Alex Horne, that whole S7 cast is suspect now.
I was in the audience for the candle holder ornament chaos episode and I've always wondered what happened to it!!!!
Loved the show. Taskmaster had a missed opportunity to take the bits to the Repair Shop show. That would have been a good bit. Cheers!
Great to see you and James getting along!
Get well soon Rhod.
Oh man, that was the best season of taskmaster, mostly thanks to you guys.
Please make them do a show together, competing against each other!!!!
That would be GOLD!
Brilliant insights of off-camera action.
i very much want to see an unedited version of that taskmaster episode with the bad gifts
Well this is amazing. Glad I just found it! ❤🎉 loving the statue backstory.
I love this, you guys always make me giggle. Taskmaster, I have to say, your series is by far the best series they’ve made. It was continual laughs
