It's probably my favorite task EVER. 1. The fake voicemail 2. The team of 3 Threes romantic cheat 3. Emma pretending to be sick 4. Rosie on the floor 5. Rosie and Jack in general So much to love
The teams this series are pitch perfect. Nobody seems able or inclined to rein in Emma or Rosie! I also feel like at any point when they're showing the team of 3, you could at any point freeze the frame and hear a voiceover from Baba saying, "Yep, that's me ..."
Fabulous task. I love that Alex had to toe the line between playing along and playing fair. Obviously he knows people are cheating, and it probably wouldn't be hard to guess some of the things people might try. Like a professional wrestling referee, turn your head at just the right time.
It is super easy to dismiss ableism as a real problem until you see the comments directed at someone whose disability causes minor inconvenience while watching a light comedy television show for free on RUclips.
Most of the problems caused by slow speech, so people frustrated while listetning. From my experience, this almost completely disappeares, when person gets used to slower speech. So, if I'm right, most of the commenters will stop overreacting somewhere about 5-6 episode of this season 😊
I always liked Rosie well enough but damn, since she's been on TM and I've seen see all the terrible comments directed at her... All they've done is massively increase my respect and admiration for her! I marvel at how she still forges her career and stays positive in the face of what I know would have me swinging like a pendulum between raging and depressed! I'm sure she does get angry/upset sometimes as anyone would, but she keeps going anyway and that makes her a hardcore MF'er in my book.
What you’re missing is that a lot of people don’t want to be inconvenienced when they’re looking for entertainment. To extrapolate that to general ableism does nobody any favour. Foreigners with ineligible accents aren’t invited to tv shows regardless of their credentials. I have zilch problem with Jack Carroll.
These comments 😳🤯☹️ Admittedly, I was (initially) unsure about a season with Rosie. However, I truly think she has been spectacular! She and Emma set the tone of the series in the first episode by acknowledging Rosie’s disability AND using it in their banter. It’s such a shame.
Agreed! I paused the episode with happy tears in my eyes and told my partner, “Greg isn’t giving her any slack. I’m so happy about that!”. And I loved it when she said is “it too early in the series to say I have cerebral palsy?” as an awesome joke. Well done! Sure, we have to work harder to understand her, but think of how hard she has had to work to be able to speak at this level. Truly a GOAT.
I feel the same way. I'm not a fan of her on 8 out of 10 cats just because I'm not into her comedy. But she's probably my favourite contestant on this series of Taskmaster

Happy to help with that! She said "oh sorry, it was my mum", quite a cheeky way to act innocent and hide what was very obvious cheating! This was a reasonably simple one to figure out with the context clues and a bit of active listening, despite my supposed double disadvantage as an Aussie having to listen through both the slurred speech and the strong Northern English accent. I have occasionally had issues with a few phrases from other contestants with stronger accents as well, such as Fern Brady's lovely Scottish drawl - only I don't remember hearing quite so many complaints about those...
