The way that the first match ended was so nice! It’s a good example of why Magic is an incredible game and Luis is a masterclass player. Another day, another Cube, another good LSV video!
bro this was so fun watching you navigate these matchups and turns. the whole sequence of turns to end the last game and some of the other wins was gold. hell yeah winning as a dog against 3 moxen etc
Why would the opponent do that with Oath on the board, unless it was beneficial to them to do so? The way S&T resolves, they would know that we chose to put in nothing. All that play does is open you up to getting blown out by a fatty you don't know about.
It's an interesting line for sure. Much more likely to work against a less skilled player. But he's also not giving up a ton, because I don't know how likely it is that show and tell is used to drop something in play this game. And he still has mana up for edict + lutri with the spirit guide.
@@brianh5844 Even an unskilled player isn't going to put a creature out vs a face-up Oath, knowing that you declined to put one out with it, unless it wins them the game. This line opens you up to losing on the spot. It is an interesting idea, though, if the Oath was still in hand.
@@alexanderdickens2517 But you could not decline if you have a land, artifact, or enchant to drop in, in which case they might assume you're about to drop a fatty and figure they may as well get something in if they have an expensive creature of their own in hand. I could definitely see some people falling for that though.
No consideration for playing portal with show and tell? I always thought portal and archon were 2 of the best ones cause they trump the opponents creature.
It’s a bit narrow, especially in a deck without tutors. The creatures work with Oath AND Show and tell. Either they’re in your deck or in your hand. More often than not you’ll be stuck with a nine mana uncastable in your hand begging to find a combo piece that doesn’t even immediately win the game

Would Emrakul have any role in a deck like this? Seems like it might be a nice way to shuffle creatures back into the deck which seemed to be an issue several times. It might also be decent with Show and Tell. It wheeled in pack one or two, and of course the child in me wanted to see Emrakul Oathed into play.
hey lsv, question! What are your thoughts on doing 4 packs of 11/12 in a 6 man draft instead of the 3 15s? My friends and I use this method for 6 mans and the deck quality feels almost identical to an 8 man draft
I don't understand the Oath P1P2. Even if LSV wanted it he could wheel it. He could probably _double_ wheel it. It's not like anyone else is going to take it, even the reanimator player.
@@LSVargas Picking it seems fine. This card has such an outsize impact on future picks that it can be a disaster if you act like you have it and you don't end up with it. It's not like the rest of the pack was that amazing anyway.
@@rossmcbeath4997 yeah though there are also less future picks to be impacted in a 6-player pod---and less people to take it---so it's less risky overall than usual
I was surprised by the Lutri over Mystical Tutor pick, given how all-in on Oath the deck was at that point. Plus I can't recall ever seeing even a minorly impressive use of Lutri in your videos (indeed you never cast it this draft). It seems super underwhelming to me in general, and when the trade-off was a sorely needed tutor I feel like it was an odd pick? Loved the video though, so much improvising and barely scraping by with a "plucky" deck.
I thought Jace, Weilder of Mysteries should have been picked on the wheel. Oath can standstill the game and Jace is pretty good then. Can also just randomly win some games with Oath milling yourself out. Also fine with a lot of disruption if you can keep the board under control.
I watch your videos everyday! Thanks for posting. I rarely comment but I had to come here to provide some feedback. You passed Ulamog and Emrikal - both allow you to reshuffle and work well with oath as they have good attack triggers. As others mentioned, portal works well with show and tell and it helps your reanimate aspect of the deck. I noticed you (like me haha) over value certain cards out of habit. You also undervalue cards (as we all do). Specifically though, the eldrazi’s and the jitte, need to be taken earlier

why was this deck playing yavimaya? the only double green card is vaultborn tyrant so it’s just a forest that can’t be fetched by misty and fixes your opponent
the fact that these videos are 100% indistinguishable from actual MTGO draft videos is a bit sad. There are no stakes, the draft pod varies in size, which completely changes the landscape of the draft, something I don't really care for. 8-man pods are the only way to go. Us having to keep track of the ever-changing card list that changes at the whim of whoever got tilted that day - ill pass. MTGO cube is literally up right now.

Wanted to post that myself 2 hours ago, Luis. Was afraid it’d come off rude if I did it though.

Lutri was not cast this entire cube. Why do you overrate the companions so much LSV?
Lutri is extremely overrated in non timewalk decks.
