As a first time homeschooler, we are leaning towards a Charlotte Mason style. But I absolutely love the idea of Ecclectic homeschool because it gives you the freedom to pick and choose. Thank you for the education on this topic. It's super helpful.

I agree, I like the narration and short lessons too. Funny you should mention grammar; I just bought Writing With Ease- which is not CM specifically but does dictation and narration- for my 5th grader and I really love it! Did you ever look into All About Reading?

I really like a couple schooling styles but my son has spiecal needs and I have to pick things that work for him.

@@BethPavlik I like short lessons, narration, and variety. I’m a bit doubtful about how grammar is taught as well as the lack of memorizing facts.
