The defense keeps trying to smear the mom but we already heard that she turned over her phone with no issue to the police (which means she was willing to let them see her drug issues if it meant helping her son); she took him to numerous doctors; she paid for his funeral with the Go Fund Me... I don't buy that she beat her son. Period.

Come on. He’s a dad trying to push his son who was obviously in various sports. What do you think the military is like?? Yea his dad probably made a bad move with the treadmill but that doesn’t mean he was responsible for his death. Not agreeing with someone’s parenting doesn’t mean they are guilty of murder. He was getting him ready for his flag football tryouts.
@@Itsme-eo5swhe already had tryouts. His mom went. She testified to that. He wasn't getting him ready. He was 7 not frkn 15 or 16. Thats NO EXCUSE. He was doing that out of pure anger. You've never dealt with an angry parent. Especially when they are mad and can't control the other parent. We DONT know what happened in the following 2 weeks BUT its obvious his dad's a bully and didn't like not having complete control.

This defense attorney is so out of line. He is going to turn the jury off to any notion his client is innocent. The defendant is so unemotional it is almost scary. All that bruising on Corey's arms were due to manhandling by his father.

It is hard to understand how a grown man could be so violent against a child. Do they not understand their strength and the fragility of a six year old? Clearly, the father was sadistic and wanted to harm the child, but did he plan to murder him? I think they often have no concept of their strength. Just imagine the psychological damage to this poor child. Too bad for the children we are not more aware of the monsters amount us.

Whose side is the judge on? He’s telling the defense attorney how to cross examine the Doctor! There was absolutely no reason for that lawyer to raise his voice and YELL at the doctor! This is awful.

The mother left community hospital AMA because she said she would transfer Corey to JJ Med Center herself. It's NOT uncommon for this to happen. Community Hospital had to cover their own liability by having her sign the AMA. Corey was NOT admitted to JJ medical center and was in fact discharged and mom was given discharge instructions, which was stated in testimony. If Corey were actually septic, JJ med center would have NEVER let Corey go home that night. I'm very familiar with these protocols and care after working in the ER for over 20 years.
He probably would have been too ill to leave as well. My mum had it and it killed her because of misdiagnosis
Also.. they didn’t know if he was septic. He wasn’t formally diagnosed. They had suspicion of it and wanted to run tests.

As was discussed outside of the jury's hearing (when they were asked to leave), that cross-examination was intended to be a confrontation. The defense was free to make it clear to the jury that a portion of the doctor's testimony was being objected to 1) as inconsistent with (enhanced, actually) her earlier testimony, and 2) unsupported by the written aid, upon which she relied. [An adage in the practice of medicine is: _"If it isn't charted_ (i.e., written in the patient's chart or notes), _it didn't happen."_ The doctor would know this.]

How about prior to the Corey's death?! He searched “will red marks turn into bruises?” or what about when he left the hospital to flee the state he texted his parents asking them to take care of his dog?! He showed more concern for his dog for crying out loud.

Corey didn't receive those bruises in his mother's care, if he had the defendant would have immediately tried to cut off all visitation bt Breanna. Remember she was late bringing Corey back and he texted her he was going to court to end her visitation rights.

Why was he speaking so hostilely to Corey’s teacher? My daughter is a first grade teacher, and that hostility would go a ways towards turning me off if I was a juror. It’s unnecessary.

Every defendant is considered innocent in the eyes of the law until found guilty by a jury at trial. But this defendant is clearly guilty imo.

I remember when the Maya vs John Hopkins case was going on and everyone was saying how the judge was biased in the beginning and how he needed to be removed. After a little while he changed his tune because of what everyone online kept saying. 4:36:43 I think this statement from Cory could very well be relevant, *especially depending on his very next statement.!!* If he said it was about maybe not playing football, maybe not so much… but if he said something regarding his dad hurting him & forcing him to do something totally unjustified (& possibly criminal) then *YES, ITS ABSOLUTELY RELEVANT!!* To blindly say no it can’t come in I think is wrong & unfair due to the nature of this trial.
The statement was not "blindly" excluded, at all. The judge even agreed with the prosecution that it _could be_ relevant (the subject's -- victim -- state of mind); however, he acknowledged (and the prosecutor did, too) that there was no way to make the statement admissible. The "rules of evidence", in criminal trials, are very specific about the allowable exceptions to the exclusion of "double hearsay". No relevant exception existed in this instance. The judge even gave the prosecutor several attempts to 'shape the facts', but -- between judge and prosecutor -- they couldn't get there.
I feel this judge needs 2 be investigated. He's clearly biased for the defence lawyer.

The judge is not allowing Corey’s voice to be heard by the jury.. so heartbreaking.. everything Corey said at that doctors visit is relevant to the case.. I’ve seen many cases where a wife or husband get killed and if there’s a journal it’s read in court so why is this any different..

Strange that psychologists often say what clients tell them on the stand, when I thought that would be confidential, yet the physician was unable to say what Corey said to her.

Why is the defense making such an issue over questioning (and belittling) the teacher about whether she expected Corey to appear virtually when on vacation? He unfortunately was already deceased before the date he was supposed to go on holiday....

The defense is very derogatory in his behaviour. He basically diminished the very highly qualified paediatrician's detailed examination of Corey (including her "little" picture documenting his injuries), to a general overview because she didn't conduct detailed blood work or have available facilities to carry out x-rays. When she advised this was because she'd referred him to the hospital for these checks he just spoke over her. I know he has a job to do but rude shouty smug arses don't win people over to their way of thinking IMO. Bullying and bulldozing - an interesting defense strategy........
