  • My American friend and I decided to put our national coffee shops head to head and see which one is ultimately better. We wanted to meet at the appropriate location, so we figured overlooking Niagara Falls would be best! We compared the coffee, muffins, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches.

I like Tim's better than Dunkin in the case of coffee and pastry. Their breakfast sandwiches are comparable. I don't really know if Dunkin serves lunch or not, I don't think they do, so Tim's is better than that. As far as the overall experience Tim Horton's I think is better. I live in America and hopefully they make even more Tim's too! Thanks for the content and great video guys!

As silly as it sounds, you guys should test American Tim Hortons vs Canadian Tim Hortons. There are quite a lot of differences. I've had Tim Horton's at the Bear's Den in Akwesassne across from Cornwall and was surprised at the different menu items or different versions of the same items. For example, I had a Maple Waffle breakfast sandwhich, months before they brought it to Canada, and even then they changed the name to a Belgian Waffle Breakfast Sandwhich. I also noticed that some of the premium drinks were fancier in the States, again months before they appeared like this in Canada. It's weird in that even while Canada is its primary market, we still manage to get things after the fact.

I ran the original field test for Munchkins in the Toledo, Ohio market. it was around 1975 give or take a few years. The Timbits are just a copy.
Very surprised at the coffee test. When DD coffee is made correctly it is unsurpassed. But then again, it's been many years since I was associated with them and there have been a lot of changes as they went from a family chain to part of a conglomerate.
Back in those early days we had an annual trip to Bill Rosenberg's farm, the founder of Dunkin' Donuts. It was a great time and great memories.

Another great video. I remember when we used to have Dunkin Donuts here in Quebec, and the excitement when my parents decided to bring some home for a Saturday night treat.
Although Timmies is a treat now & then for my family, we go less often since we find that the quality has been on a downward slide.... at least for here in Quebec. Too often the shelves are empty and the variety of choices has diminished over time.
The only thing we really like anymore are the Timbits and the Boston Creams, which we ALWAYS ask to have in a box exactly because of the chocolate sticking to the bag issue.

Especially Canadian films that have a cult following in the USA like "The Peanut Butter Solution" or the horror film "Curtains". Also why have you boys not compared boxed Canadian Kraft Dinner vs American Kraft Macaroni and Cheese? Celine Dion's first introduction to American Audiences with the song "Listen To the Magic Man" from "The Peanut Butter Solution". lol THINK about this suggestion. God Bless.

Before watching, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Dunkin is better, because Tim's has devolved into total garbage.
There used to be Dunkin Doughnuts in Canada.... I remember there was one nearby when I was a kid. And I remember there being one right by the Greyhound station in Montreal, cause I bought a muffin there. That was in um, 2001?
Edit: I'm surprised Tim's performed as well as they did. Still though, I don't go to Tim's any more. Everything was overhauled when they were bought by an American company. All of my favourites are gone. They don't even bake their stuff in store any more! And they're obsessed with trying to also be a sandwich shop! No thanks.

Yes, you're right, Dunkin' Donuts was the big thing in Canada way before the heathens at Tim Horton's decided to start brewing their own coffee which at the time was a really GOOD cup of coffee...and the fresh in-house made donuts and huge apple fritters, dutchies and french crullers is what took a lot of the business away from Dunkin' Donuts ....but those days are long gone! Tim Horton's now has the CRAPPIEST tasting coffee and almost nobody buys their tiny little overpriced donuts anymore and all their other menu items do not appeal to me at all .....

DD lost the war in the 2000's and TH is doing the same scheme of reducing the quality, a major mistake that DD did in the 90's...as of the DD in the greyhound station is was one of the last 5 DD in Quebec, 4 others remain open untill 2019 when the DD brand decided to not be used anymore for the remaining places so they went independant with complete new items, the Verdun place in Montreal was the one baking fresh all the items to delivers the 3 others that were open, since its closure they lost their DD official products and just sell some generic doughnuts...
