Sooo happy to be back travelling around with Jason making vids! This was a wild, food heavy experience...is there any other way? Curious, have you been to the Big Nickel?
Yes, I was born in Sudbury in 1965, still go back home every summer to visit family. I remember the Big Nickel being there my whole life, mining is the life blood of this city, my family has been working in the mining industry for generations.
Born and raised in Sudbury (via Copper Cliff in Little Italy in the shadow of the Superstack - literally!) now living on Vancouver Island. My father was a butcher and would make porchetta. I still make it today. The Regency is our first stop when we return to visit family and porchetta is a must (and Deluxe chicken on a bun). You guys were terrific and did a great job promoting Sudbury! Keep up the great videos. Go Wolves!
@@wanupgirl Yeah not bad. But stay away from their burgers. It's basically a dog food paddy on a bun. Yuck! My buddy and I went there for lunch one day and each got a burger. We both got sick in the parking lot back at the job site. I called and asked the manager where they got their burger paddies and he told me he didn't know because they came in a clear bag. Last time I EVER ate there. That's 14 years ago now. You want a good chicken on a bun? Go to Mary Brown's you won't regret it.
Lots of people know that Sudbury is called The Big Nickel because the region had/has one of the world's largest nickel deposits, but lots of people don't know that this is because, not only was the earth naturally rich in nickel in that area, it was then hit by a massive meteorite which was also mostly made out of nickel. The Sudbury Basin is the third largest impact crater on earth and debris from it can be found as far away is Minnesota. I always enjoyed sitting on the ridge and looking down on the lights of the city.
Yeah when I got hired for Boart Longyear they flew me there then we drove to Laval to Norcat mine for Common Core training for Underground mining/drilling. We got a smoke stack in Flin Flon where I'm from as well, but I think Sudbury's is 50meters taller maybe.
I have lived in Sudbury for almost 20 years now and I haven't been to Peppi Panini's. After watching this- I'm going tomorrow! I'd love to see how it compares to Tarini's! Glad you guys had fun while you were here :)
Loved every second of this. I've been to Sudbury only once, but it was incredible to see the giant nickle, and to then do the nickle mine tour afterwards.
Cheers from Sudbury. Another little fact is that, Sudbury was hit by one of the largest meteors ever many many moons ago. So we are actually the Sudbury basin, also filled with many different minerals, suck as nickel.
Love it! I’m from Sudbury and I’m working night shift as a mechanic at the big smoke stack right now watching this lol right on boys gotta get out for a good ol Sudbury Saturday Night!

I head up to the North Land in 10 days for the first time in 2 years due to Covid. Omg nickel city cheese curds are heaven. My parents just moved away from sudbury down south, and I bought 80 bucks worth of curds cuz I dont know when I'll ever go back...
Love your videos! It puts a smile on my face. Being from Niagara Falls, Ontario and formerly a regular cross border traveller … I got across the border last Friday to see a friend in Lockport, NY, for the fist time in two years. We went to Molinaro’s Ristorante and talked and laughed and ate for several hours. Great times. We just made it because they just closed up the border again as you probably well know, unless you want to pay to have the Covid test coming back into Canada. Hopefully it won’t be another two years before we get back together!
You guys are hilarious! Jason's karaoke was brillaint - he got up there and didn't even have to make a fool of himself (not like you Joseph, LOL) 10 out of 10 nickels for this video - the American stole the show! 😂😂

The Trevi… a five minute walk from my house. My uncle used to work at the Trevi and sadly passed away a couple years ago in the building. Although there’s so much family history in that building, it’s very hard to walk into the building. But so much legacy and history behind the resturant… a Sudburian staple. Thank you for this amazing video showcasing our great town. ♥️
