*Update:* As of today with Nintendo Treehouse's E3 Gameplay, it has been revealed that you will be able to recruit a handful of units from other houses throughout your playthrough. It seems you will need to work with them to provide what they want in terms of growth, (For example, Mercedes will require certain skill levels in Magic and Bows before she'll join you if you want her on the Black Eagles or Golden Deer) but so far it's been confirmed you can bring over at least 1 (maybe 2 or 3? - but there are also ways to 'soft' recruit other students for a period of time and they can't level up and stuff so they may have done that too in that video.) students from other houses. Meaning the best way to go about picking a house is to pick the one with the most students that you like, then any other ones you're super torn on you should be able to recruit if you try hard enough! You will not be able to recruit the other lords though, as that would mess with the story, I'm sure. Any characters that are the lords' retainers, like Hubert, will unfortunately also not be recruitable in other houses. That just wouldn't make sense for them to ditch the character they're connected to. Thank you for watching!

Black Eagles has the cutest girls, Blue Lions has the nicest designs overall, Golden Deers has Claude
For me, the black eagles are ok Edelgard is great and Bernadetta is cute, I agree with you on the fact that most of the people on the blue lions have the best designs overall, and golden deer have my favorite girls (Hilda, Lysithea and Marianne)

For me while I do like the designs of the female characters of the Black Eagles I don't care much for the male designs, I like the male character designs better in the Blue Lions and I also like the female designs of the Blue Lions as well. As for the Golden Deers I like Hilda, Lysithea and Marianne but I don't care much for Leonie's design and I don't care much for the male designs.

Edelgard and her House seems to have the best waifus, but Claude and his house seem to have the most interesting politics because they’re democratic. It’s too bad the units in Claude’s house seem a little bland, Edelgard seems like the way to go.
Apparently I had the same mindset as 90% of the internet: Golden Deer, because Claude. No other reason needed.

This is really hard. Claude is my favorite lord because of his design and personality/character traits. Blue lion has some of my favorite units introduced and I love the magic focus of black eagles. It's now a close tie between Claude and Dmitri.

Do what I did, look at the characters screen and choose which one ypu like, dont like, and are neutral.I chose golden deer as it had more units I liked than disliked.
Claude is the hottest lord but Dimitri's has the hottest students... I'm so torn
edit:forget what I said, older Dimitri looks incredible so it's decided. I'm a sucker for edgy eyepatch characters. Claude will absolutely be my second play through though.

@@FSSmash I really hope that the students are exclusive to their houses (so by going with the Black Eagles I can't recruit the students from the Blue Lions and Golden Deer later on). As I feel that would mean a lot of characters never get used, which is what happens in Fire Emblem Fates Revelations.
Blue Lions has the best overall cast of students imo so i'm choosing them first :)

Yeah I much prefer the variety of Blue Lions students to the others.
Blue Lions and looks to be an interesting storyline. Pure speculation but it looks like grounded real life politics, drama, less fantastic and more down-to-earth and gritty.
Definitely curious if I'll look back and laugh at my prediction for being so off in the coming months.

Yes and no? Azure Moon is all about the fall of and then redemption of Dimitri as a house leader/eventual king. You could argue that his morality becomes extremely grey as time goes on, but yeah, I would argue that of the three house leaders Dimitri is the one that embodies chivalry and honor more so than Claude and Edelgard. So I’m not really sure what this comment is referring to.

Damn it, the Blue Lions have *easily* the most interesting set of students, but also the most boring lord in my opinion. Gonna have a hard time deciding between a cool lord vs cool students.
I personally would go with cooler students because they at least outnumber the lord and you seem to get a lot of opportunities to interact with them.
his personality might turn out to be favorable if the plot line is as twisted as they said and you have to go through all of that with him though. (I'm choosing the blue lion even though the lord is kinda a stereotype cold, handsome young man and cross fingers I got to love him in the end

I'm torn between choosing blue lions and black eagles. I like the characters more from black eagles, but the weapon/class types from blue lions. Seeing as you get a lot of flexibility with building units, I'm leaning towards eagles but I can't really say for sure until we know more about the game.

Dimitri is a name of Greek origin, also most of students from his kingdom have French or Spanish names, Slavic names would be Yaroslav, Volodumyr, Vsevolod and so on, red empire has German coat of arms and a lot of German names, yellow alliance is a mix of French, Nordic and Latin

Here's another way to settle this:
Imagine Inigo as the Blue Lions, Severa as the Black Eagles, and Owain as the Golden Deer (they have similar color schemes and reminded me of Awakening please don't @ me). Whoever you stan the most is the house you choose.

I'm torn between Golden Deer and Blue Lions
One the one hand, you got your Mysterious Leader possibly holding a more then interesting backstory, and students that really make me smile, including a big flirt, a teddy bear looking lad, a pretty redhead, and a bowlcut megane cutie (Seriously I would already die for Ignace)
But on the other hand, you got your Noble Man who may have a rough journey with students that also make me smile, including a devoted gentle giant, a motherly figure, a stuck up prick who probably has more to him, and freckled face cutie. (Yes I would also already die for Ashe)

Same, though I'm going Golden Deer even though Mercedes really does appeal to me. That said, the Golden Deer have Hilda and as a huge Sera fan I already love her. Then again Black Eagles have Bernadetta who I fell in love with as soon as I saw her, so I'm really conflicted on the waifu I wanna go with.

@@magicmanthegeez330 Dedue is on blue lions lul. Tbh it's hard to tell if they just have slightly darker skin or have a tan, rather than being biologically color'd race. Fire Emblem is made in Japan, a country with uber low diversity so this is about as much as we can expect.

I'm picking Claude and the Golden Deer without a doubt in my mind. I love FE archers, even the GBA ones, so an archer playthrough is obvious run for me.
hardrockmusickid when I played through Blazing Blade I had no idea archers were so bad. I ended up using Rebecca the entire game and she was the first unit I maxed out

Elka Sir I like black eagles cause yea they look better and I’m interested in Edelgard as a axe unit. If you play Feh, think about how many infantry axe units we have that are actually good without extensive work, very few are speedy too. And golden deer leader seems like he’d be the most interesting of the 3 due to his underlying nature

I wasn't even anticipating it, but the moment I saw that cover again at 2:46 I burst out in laughter. Can't believe it's the official design, it looks hilarious with the way Claude is nonchalantly defying gravity with that look on his face.
Yellow: Most interesting lord and character in Claude, but the rest of the team is kinda 'meh' for me.
Blue: Least interesting lord, but the rest of the team actually peaks my interest in a huge way.
Red: They exist kinda in between everything. Nothing stands out for me, but nothing is bad at the same time.
I'm torn between Yellow and Blue at the moment... But really hoping we get to pick up everyone eventually.

I was split between Claude and Dimitri because Dimitri is a typical handsome man and Claude is more lively. But the sound of the name Dimitri is more awesome, and he makes me so happy. (besides, if I choose Claude, I'm stuck with Claude forever may he turn out to suit me or not, but if I choose Dimitri I have a beautiful Tsundere, too lol
