Join me on my solo motorcycle trip from NYC to South Carolina (about 800 miles one-way), and then pivoting to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia - filmed on three cameras. I took this motorcycle trip in September 2022, and after spending a few days in South Carolina and places like Santee Coastal Reserve (opening shots), I was chased out by Hurricane Ian and pivoted my trip to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia (about 500 miles) in order to avoid the winds and flooding. In Shenandoah, I was able to ride Skyline Drive and enjoy a campfire while motorcycle camping.
My Triumph Bonneville is not the best highway touring bike in the world, but I was able to battle the windy eastern interstate of 95 most of the way south. About halfway through my trip, I purchased some saddlebags to allow for some additional waterproof protection, as I knew the rain was approaching.

Some of the best motorcycling videos on youtube. I keep coming and rewatch them. Thank you, Chris
Cheers thanks!
Pure art as always, Chris. Thanks for taking us on the journey.
Thanks Gregary!
I have a classic Bonneville a 1979 750 and the engine sounds the same. I just lose myself in the windy roads to nowhere every summer. I can relate Chris...
so beautiful, loved it. Those roads, trees, buildings everything was so lovely
Thanks!
Thank you! I love your journeys and messages.
Amazing, simply Amazing!! Thank you Chris!! 👍👍
As always… you’re the man! Safe travels buddy
Well done this lovely presentation. Thanks!
As a follower who from China, I was raising my eyebrow in the beginning of the video when you quote Sun Tzu. Always enjoy watching your video and listening your words from another side of the world. Thank you Chris!
I just kick back and enjoy. Thanks!
Awesome video. As a new rider and with my eyes on a Bonneville, this is super inspiring!
Bro. I look forward to your videos. Keep ‘em coming.
Brilliant as always, and what a landscape to move through!
Cheers! Thanks Matt
As a fan of motorcycles as well as the south…this video was just amazing to watch. Thank you Chris.
Thanks! I’m still new to the south but would love to explore more
Great to see that Robert M. Pirsig`s spirit is alive and well :) ride on Chris !
Very peaceful video. Just got back from a short road trip on my Bonneville in the south.
Once again, your video is meditation
Thank you!
Great content -thanks
Your videos give me a motivation to buy a motorcycle and explore the undiscovered places :). Love from India
Just discovered your channel, keep going, love it
Really enjoyed the video- definitely needed some moto meditation 🙏
Touring on a Bonneville, ol'school kool. This is on my bucket list, but a on a Zed 900RS. Well done Bro.
Great video!
Thanks!
Great video man. Keep it coming.
Greetings from an Israeli rider!
Another great video Chris. My only suggestion would be to consider fading to black rather than ending abruptly. But then again, it's your video and I think they are all great. I look forward to the next one.
wow these trees at the beginning are beautiful.
Yes those were in Santee Coastal Reserve - definitely some magical trees.
Great video! It really caught my attention because I’m moving to The Lowcountry of SC in November, and Hunting Island is one of my favorite places. I actually have a T100 in a similar paint scheme. I love that bike. I’ve been looking to get a pair of deerskin gloves and notice yours. What brand?
I live in North Fort Myers and rode out Ian, never again 9 hours of complete hell.
On a lighter note I will be riding my GS from Fort Myers to my birth town Batavia, NY this September. I haven't been back in decades and am very excited to explore the Adirondacks before winter sets in.
Liked and Subscribed, you're producing incredible videos.
Makes me glad I skipped town when Ian was coming in! Cheers thanks
Gooood, Chris. Seriously. You can't release a new video when i am having a day full of online meetings. I am constantly looking at the wrong screen! :D All the best from Germany.
Cheers thanks!
Well done! 👍 I was wondering what mechanical/bike problems have you had with your triumph on these long trips?
Live just more than an hour from Charleston. If you make it back with no Ians on the horizon, the restaurants at 3:58 on left is Red's Ice House and on right is Water's Edge. Both great seafood places. Red's is a shorts and shirt kind of place. Water's Edge is a clean pair of shorts and clean shirt kind of place. St. Helena just outside of Frogmore, there is a haunted cemetery. And a few miles from that is the "Forrest Gump" house. On Hunting Island is the beach where "Bubba" died in the same movie. And if you're in Frogmore, don't think about leaving without stopping at the Foolish Frog. Best flounder anywhere. September is our worst month for hurricanes. Wish someone would have mentioned.
Thanks for the locals context - so cool to hear your expertise, wish I had it when I was riding around Charleston. A lot of amazing history there.
Is that a speed twin?
Question here! How does your butt not hurt after an hour of riding ?
Fox creek leather jacket?
Schott NYC jacket
Allahu Akbar!
