I bought a 2023 Triumph Bonneville T 120 black edition 3 weeks ago. Very glad that I did. I used to be a diehard Harley owner for 38 years. Best bike that I have ever owned. 😊
Thats euro for ya a engine thats efficient and powerful while not sounding like a missfiring 1910s abomination glad you switched to the correct side you wont regret it enjoy your bike ride safe bro
Bought a Speedmaster a month ago. I cannot ride it and not smile. Aside from it’s stunning good looks, it’s fast, sounds great and supremely comfortable. Classic indeed.

I have a T120 and for me it is the best choice as it is the most well rounded and can do all I need it to do it's fast enough, comfortable enough and stunning looking. In silver and red it never fails to turn heads but don't buy one if you don't want people to talk to you because wherever it's parked someone will come and start a conversation.
Did a Demo Day at the local Triumph & rode the T120, Speed Twin, Tiger Low, Bobber & Speedmaster. All awesome in their own way, but the Speedmaster stole my heart. Bought it the next week. 🏍️💨
I have got a Bonneville SE and a MT-07. The MT is very good, I mean really good but the Bonneville is the bike that puts a bigger grin on my face. It's just brilliant to ride and I don't know why.
I had an MT-07, fantastic bike and lots of fun. Then I bought a T120 and didn’t ride the MT again, so I sold it. The Bonneville has that something that other bikes don’t have, like driving an Alfa Romeo, or a VW bus.
Over the last 40 years I have been through at least a dozen different street bikes and several dirt bikes. I loved all of them. But lately I have been wanting to add a Bonneville T120 to my list of rides. There's something about that classic motorcycle look that I can't resist.
I owned a CBR-600F and later a YZF-R6. Then spent 14 years in the wilderness, sans bike. Came back to it when I bought a lightly used Triumph Thruxton R. Excellent machine. I’ve had a blast with it. The handling has more capability than I have courage, which is to be preferred and there’s more than enough power on tap. The styling of the bike attracts the attention of older gentlemen and also children. Lol. All part of its charm, I suppose.
I test rode a 2023 Speed Twin 900 and fell in love immediately. However, I opted for the Scrambler 900 because I thought I would want to do some off-road riding. The scrambler is a great bike but didn't like how it handled off-road. Meanwhile, I couldn't stop thinking about the Speed Twin. I finally caved when the dealer said they would waive all the dealer fees with a trade-in for a 2024 Speed Twin. I couldn't be happier! It's the perfect city bike and great for longer rides along back roads here in the Midwest.
I got a t120 as my first bike and its amazing. They've all got the cool factor (apart from grandads speedmaster), perform well, can tour, can ride with pillion comfortably, can put up with light offroad, can go round a corner. Can't ever see me getting rid of it. When I need another bike, I'll probably buy an adv bike and then I'm done for buying bikes
@TTS17 - the Token Square Hello, I've not done rides that long. I frequently commute 50/60 miles each way to work and it's fine for that. Without a fairing, the wind at 70mph can be tiresome and if you ride in the dark you will need to buy upgraded lights. The headlight is terrible. Other than the headlight, it's an amazing bike. I'm averaging 63mpg which would be important for touring.
I can confirm that my t120 is a good touring bike - as good as a naked bike can get. I bought it last December and already did 5000 km on it. Longest travel was 650 km from Switzerland across the Alps to Italy, with approx. 30% highway traveling. On the highway, the built-in cruise control comes in handy. For me (1.86m tall) the sweet spot is around 120 km/h. At that speed, wind pressure keeps me upright and the cruise control stabilizes the riding experience. 👍 As for suspension, I upgraded the rear shocks to Fox shocks, that allow easy adjustment of the inbound speed - that's particularly handy when riding with luggage. Hope this helps a bit.... 😊
@@tts17-thetokensquare68 You're welcome. I forgot to confirm that the headlight is indeed terrible, as someone wrote previously. It uses an H4 bulb, but low-beam is IMHO way too weak - max speed with this low-beam light output is around 70-80 km/h at night times. As a result, I ordered a modern LED headlight recently, but I haven't upgraded it yet. The weather is too sunny for a garage job... 😜 Oh....and I changed to Avon Spirit ST tires about 500 km ago - brilliant swap so far. The Bonny is much more nimble, stable around the corners and the tire feedback gives me way more confidence compared to the OEM Pirelli Phantoms. 👍
I'm on a 1500mile European tour on my 2012 Bonnie SE right now. Great bike, loads of charm, can go anywhere as long as the street isn't too narrow because the deep exhaust rumble starts to resonate off shop windows and deafen pedestrians 😂
My first bike was an 84 Yamaha XS650 and loved the Standard ride. I wanted a more modern bike so a few months ago I bought a new to me 2018 T12o Black. Love this bike. The ride is great. The look is great. Took me a few rides to feel comfortable with the power increase but better then wishing I had more. Keep up to great content Yammie.
I just got the 2023 T100. Will probably keep it forever but I just hate that the customization and maintenance will be expensive but it's just a beautiful bike.
I have a 2014 Thruxton 900. Love it. It’s a great bike. People stop me all the time and it gets looks constantly. Easy to modify. Lots of niche market stuff out there too.
I purchased a street twin as my first bike bike after ten years in the wilderness. Had one of the ltd edition scramblers (agree too many but try and by one!) and now with a speed twin 1200. Perfect balance between looks and performance. Great vid👍
I’ve never ridden. Triumph, but have always liked the look. To me the best looking motorcycles in my lifetime were the 70’s Hondas. Back when the wheels were mostly the same size, the seats pretty much long and flat and mid controls. The triumph T120 has that classic late 60’s early 70’s looks. I’ve owned over 20 motorcycles of a different brands and styles, but the T 120 and the Speedmaster are very appealing and I need to ride one.
I just bought the new 2023 Speedtwin Chrome 900 after riding sports tourers for many years. Wish I'd done it sooner so easy to ride and it looks and sounds like a motorcycle should!
At 62 years old and not owning or riding a motorcycle since about 1989, my 2022 Bonneville T120 is powerful enough, eye-catching enough, and totally customizable. The only issue I have is the unexpected rather significant cost of proper maintenance. However, times & prices have changed since the late 'eighties and as someone in Texas once explained to me: "Ain't nothing cheap no more!!"
I ride a 2017 T120 Black. It is thebideal "all rounder" motorcycle. It handles like a dream. Well, since upgrading the flabby suspension which Triumph must have spent £1.99 on producing. With Hagon rear shocks and prog fork springs this bike is now what it should have been in the first place. You do not feel its weight as it is carried low down in the centre of gravity.
Thank you Yammie, I’m in New Zealand and a shift worker, one of my most favourite moments of the day is coming home from a very long and hard night shift to watch your accurate and informative content. Keep it coming mate kudos and regards Rooster 🐔 🤘🏍️
Get the Speed Twin 1200. Upgrade the suspension and you have a legit sport bike in a tweed jacket. You were gonna do a review of my buddy Alex's Speed Twin back in December I think, I was bummed when you guys couldn't work out the schedule... We tuned ours and are getting 103hp at the wheel as well as 85ft/bs... Tossed on some Ohlins shocks and a damper, K-Tech cartridges and springs up front and you can cruise in style or do a track day on it, and it won't have you visiting the chiropractor after each ride.
I got the 2022 T120 Gold line edition. It had 110 miles on the clock. What a superb piece of British engineering. I think this must be the sweet spot. Feels very powerful and has torque for days, and the exhaust note is amazing with standard pee shooters. Don't feel like I need to change anything on this bike which is unusual for me 😂
I picked up a '15 Bonneville America LT, use it for travelling to other countries or long trips. it feels a lot more comfortable but would say it's definitely an underrated motorcycle from the brand
Problem with the America is that it's not a Harley, but costs more than a Japanese cruiser so no one really wants one. The other Bonneville motorcycles are more unique.
I'm all about the scramblers. I have a 2020 Street Scrambler and I absolutely love it. It feels classy but just a hair rugged, which is the perfect balance for me. I could see eventually getting a Scrambler 1200, but that won't be for a long time.
You are looking at modern brand new Triumphs, I bought a used 2009 Thruxton as my first bike, being a larger-stature person. Love the bike, works for me and I cannot fault it. Don't overlook a used Bonnie, especially if you can handle the torque and don't overlook the older carb versions if you are a big person looking for something besides an HD Sportster, you may be pleased.
I want to ride all 5 street bikes but since I’m 5’6” and currently riding a Street Bob , (Bike #9), I think I’m digging the flat foot ride. I think it will be the Speedmaster once I’ve ridden them, I like 2 up options also. Anyone want to buy a Street Bob? Wanted a Harley for 45 years but now I know what that’s all about. It’s not for me long term. 😭 Love your reviews Yammie!
The Speed Twin mk2 has the same engine as the Thruxton R. The Thruxton RS has a few lightened internals. The Thruxton RS also gets better suspension and brakes as well. The Speed Twin is a very good bike though
@@stevec6427 you just keep thinking that. When you figure out what "internals" are more "lightweight" let me know? There's a 4k difference in price. Your telling me having fully adjustable front forks and heavier spoke wheels with innertubes is worth 4 grand extra?
@@andrewbecker3700 The stats as of 2023 are RS: 103HP/83 FT 451LB Speed Twin: 98HP/83 FT 476LB. So there is a slight difference. Probably the only noticeable difference would be riding position, and suspension if you were experienced enough. I have the Speed Twin, as I don't need racing suspension, and preferred the look. Pillion option was also of more value.
Why do some people think that anything that is not a race bike is no good. Yammie and others seem to forget that there’s no speed limit anywhere in the us that this bike can’t handle and that his kind of ‘performance’ riding is what raises insurance for everyone else who just wants to have a good time rolling around on 2 wheels
anyone interested in these bikes, but with a smaller budget should keep an eye out for the short lived Triumph Thunderbird with 3 cylinders. They look feel a lot like the bonny, but can be found for about 3 grand used.
too close to the also dead Thruxton 1200 that nobody bought, price-wise at the time. Even that version of Thruxton was canned after 2019 due to everyone interested in a cafe bike just getting the full fat Thruxton R (and now RS) The model year after the Cup was canned, the rest of the "street" line did jump 10hp, and got a brake upgrade. It made them dramatically better than the first few model years of the line.
Cheers ive been looking at Bonnies and trying to figure out what the differences are between them, this vid was awesome. PS the Thruxtan's also had a 900.
Hipster my 70 year old a$$😂😂. My Thruxton R went 151 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2021 and 11.6 quarter mile ET at 119 mph. Okay not Superbike or even 600cc sportbike quick or fast but definitely enough power to give inexperienced Superbike riders more than challenge in a sprint contest.
I’m 33 going full on boomer soon with a speedmaster. Still love my 05 thruxton 900, but I need something way more chilled out for when my back hates me
i don't want a bonnie, i have it (Speed Twin 900), grabbed on february. Really fun, lightweight, lowsit bike. Farewell heavy Honda CBF, but how many travels we did all across Europe? You are always in my heart and soul and remembrance. Still love it, my beloved "Piccola". I hope to have the same fun with "Trofietta".
I rented a Bonneville a few years back, put 300 miles on it in a day long ride. It is not a good retro bike. It is a good bike period. Wish the gas tank was a gallon or more bigger, and that the instruments were more readable. But it was just a fun bike to ride through the desert on interstates and back roads alike
a bonneville video with no mention of the DGR ride? here in Austin, it's a massive thruxton & bobber convention, complete with wax mustaches and monocles.
There are two new Triumphs coming with a 400 or 450 CC engine, it is part of the collaboration between Bajaj and Triumph in India with plans of exporting too.
Totally off video subject but, I saw my first Jixer? 650 tonight. It was a lot louder than I thought it would be. He rode down the highway and I swore I heard it miles away
speedtwin /t 100 900 beside honda nc 750 s is one of not to much bikes which i prefer more than me sv 650 s in this case its cos more power down low and less gears 👌🏻

@@Lethal_Blanket all wrong. Where are you getting these specs. Check again chief. Second gen Speed Twin is the same engine and lighter.
@@andrewbecker3700 The stats as of 2023 are
RS: 103HP/83 FT 451LB
Speed Twin: 98HP/83 FT 476LB.
So there is a slight difference. Probably the only noticeable difference would be riding position, and suspension if you were experienced enough.
I have the Speed Twin, as I don't need racing suspension, and preferred the look. Pillion option was also of more value.
Been riding a Speedmaster for several years now and I still really like it. It's kind of made me a Triumph simp.
Speedmaster 2nd choice, but Thruxton all the way!
Hey Yammie! When can we get a Thruxton RS track day?? You’ve talked about before.
The King of Cool will reign forever!!!!
An American saying: A triumph is not iconic as Harley Davidson. I was not surprised by that comment. :D
I just went to a test ride event. Rode the Tiger 900, 660 and Street Triple. I really liked the 660 but man, all the power is in the high end.
anyone interested in these bikes, but with a smaller budget should keep an eye out for the short lived Triumph Thunderbird with 3 cylinders. They look feel a lot like the bonny, but can be found for about 3 grand used.
im excited for the speed 400 coming out next year. Getting into motorcycling and I really want it to be my first over the RE hunter 350
My money would go to the Scrambler 1200, it has the looks with added capability & passenger accomodations.
They shoulda kept the Street Cup around (maybe with a better name and better camshaft to up the HP)
too close to the also dead Thruxton 1200 that nobody bought, price-wise at the time.
I am so proud that i work on Triumph bikes......❤
Subscribed and liked because this was so comprehensive and useful! Thanks!
Bought a street twin 900 for my first bike. Best decision ever.
Got me an 09 SE customed out and tuned. Gnarly bikes.
Cheers ive been looking at Bonnies and trying to figure out what the differences are between them, this vid was awesome.
PS the Thruxtan's also had a 900.
Speed Twin 1200 !❤
As a 2020 t120 black And 2021 Ducati streetfighter V4s owner. I’m sure Ducati is only temporarily. T120 will stay forever.
🐂💩💩🎉....😆😆
The Bonneville Bobber Chrome edition for me please!!!!!
I’m 33 going full on boomer soon with a speedmaster. Still love my 05 thruxton 900, but I need something way more chilled out for when my back hates me
I own 2022 Bonnie T 100 it’s the Rolex of Classics
I am 6' ,Will it fit for me?
New owner of a 2011 thruxton having fun
i don't want a bonnie, i have it (Speed Twin 900), grabbed on february. Really fun, lightweight, lowsit bike. Farewell heavy Honda CBF, but how many travels we did all across Europe? You are always in my heart and soul and remembrance. Still love it, my beloved "Piccola". I hope to have the same fun with "Trofietta".
Love love love my Bonnie Speed Twin 1200
Me too, me!
Hell yeah, broski!
So a bit like the Goodwood Revival then ??
Tweed jackets with patches on the elbows too?!😳😂....Do the Harley tough guys like the Bandidos beat on them for being sissys??😆
Triumph Bonnie America all the way 😬
There are two new Triumphs coming with a 400 or 450 CC engine, it is part of the collaboration between Bajaj and Triumph in India with plans of exporting too.
I love mine street twin. I can only think of switching bikes for a t120 bonie.
haha it burns to hear the first specially crafted statement from Yammie, for a bonnie guy like myself :D
got a 2005 Bonneville in blue, carbs and air cooled.
Totally off video subject but, I saw my first Jixer? 650 tonight. It was a lot louder than I thought it would be. He rode down the highway and I swore I heard it miles away
I'm waiting for the speed twin to get cruise control then im sold
Great video. Keep up with the good work 😊
speedtwin /t 100 900 beside honda nc 750 s is one of not to much bikes which i prefer more than me sv 650 s in this case its cos more power down low and less gears 👌🏻
I just bought a Thruxton rs chrome edition. ❤
bro got me with that bic pen factoid at the end lmao
Love how them bikes look 🤤
Purchased 2023 speedmaster black and white classic
