THANK YOU!!!! That little bit of spring tension change got my bike to haul this 220lb man to 28 mph, and on a dirt road. Now I want a bigger engine and disc brakes!!! These machines are a kick in the pants!!! Thanks again!!!
Man that idles high!
So is it a good idea to check one straight out of the box
Thank you. For your video. You stretching out the springs. Just perfect as to what to do with my 49cc. Your my genius motorized bike mechanic. After 9 or 14 videos not one of them showed what you did. Thank you so much
Just save me a headache, Thank you! I put new clutch in the kids mini moto dirt bike and it was slipping but eventually grabbed, I could smell burning clutch right away. Much better now thanks.
I had a go cart years ago with a centrifugal clutch the same size that was not enclosed, and it had NO springs on it. Worked great. The centrifugal movement itself is so slight that springs would have caused even more wear on the pads making them slip more before fully engaging, and wear out much sooner. The pads movement is so small that by stretching the springs in this video is the same thing as no springs. Although if one spring eventually broke stretching or not stretching it would destroy the whole clutch.
Thanks for the video. Where did you find the replacement clutch?
Hey, could you post a link to the new clutch you bought? I’m on my second one and having the same issue-what a pain in the touquss!
Thank for this, i got new springs cuz they snapped but my clutch is still good. Hopefully works on a 49cc dirt bike.
Where do you buy the (2) bearings that are pressed into the transmission cover?
Thanks for the tip can you use a lighter spring
THANKS FOR THE INFO ON SPREADING THE SPRINGS....This clutch set up works awesome 👍 I put a 16mm Keihin carburetor custom intake and custom exhaust pipe. 40t rear sprocket she goes 45mph and sounds mean. As soon as I got my kit I did what you said to the clutch springs right away. so I didn't burn up any of the clutch and packed it full of high temp grease and works awesome 👍
You packed the clutch with grease? Or the chain case?
@@stephenandloriyoung5716 yes
@@mbrrideitlikeyoustoleit8436 I don't understand - did you pack the clutch with grease? If yes, why, and where did you get the idea? Thanks.

@@mbrrideitlikeyoustoleit8436 Got it, thanks again.
5:39 you are going to get clutch residue inside there no matter what you do man, those clutches are disposable, that is why they are usually less than 20 bucks. they are more like brake pads than than a car clutch or even a 2-stroke bicycle kit clutch. brake pads are disposable. on a car they generally cost allot more than that clutch, but they also last allot longer. 8:50 no, you don't need locktight, tapered shafts lock themselves through use, do you use locktight for you drill press which is on a taper? mine doesn't even have a screw. you don't even have to tighten the clutch on at an insane torque. if held on enough it will tighten itself. my best luck on these honda gxh50 clones (i have 3 of them now) has been the jrl 2 lobe clutches, the 3 lobes have always given me problems, and there is a 4 lobe 30 dollar clutch available that provides great performance but is insanely rough and makes me think it might break the bell on my transmission. but these things are disposible, the jrl racing clutch is about 10 bucks on amazon and usually lasts me up to a month, but sometimes a couple weeks, and that is fine because i spend almost nothing on gas in the meantime. these are gocart engines and when used on gocarts at a theme park or something like that the clutches get changed out daily. i will reiterate again: these are disposable. the 3 lobes suck as a general rule in my experience (i have gone through 10 of them) the 2 lobes are pretty nice and reliable (like the jrl racing one from amazon that i mentioned, (i have gone through around 20 of those and not all of them were the jrl racing one, some were the more expensive ones that turned out to be identical) and while this fix MIGHT make your clutch work for a little while, it also weakens the spring in a spot that could cause the clutch to break and damage the transmission. but you are very right that on those cheap chinese single chain transmissions (btw i prefer those transmissions so far, i have tried the double chain (the bikeberry one) and it maxes out at 25mph like it has a speed limiting thing, the rpm on the engine shoots up like it isn't engaging anything anymore and i contacted bikeberry and they said it was rated for 25mph and wouldn't accept a return, and i haven't tried a belt drive) the cheap single chains need to get a good greasing. also i had to rebuild my bikeberry motor because of my own mistake (low oil) using my older cheaper honda gxh50 clone (i bought that whole bike kit for less than i bought just the bikeberry engine) and when i had them both apart i noticed that inside the cheap kit from amazon it had higher quality parts, like bearings for the crankshaft and piston connecting rod which happened to be the parts that i replaced, and a larger diameter piston, so i had to use the original piston for the rebuild. bikeberry sucks and their customer service is shit, only use them if you have no other choice, because they do have a good parts selection. (oh, and i didn't just use the cheaper engine because the muffler mount on the block was completely unsalvageable with what i have in my workshop, you would have to grind, weld material on then grind again, redrill and tap the right muffler mounting hole and i don't have a welder) sorry for the wall of text and i congratulate you if you have read it. just a train of thought post, i usually don't actually post them, but i have decided to post this one.
Thanks for watching! I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think you should try the g7 belt drive transfer case on your next build. The bushing needs some attention once and awhile, but the clutch is much more reliable and there is much more torque on the low end without taking away top speed of around 30. Thanks for contributing to the community with your insight! Happy building.
Hi! I have a question? Is that black clutch dust asbestos dust?
Is that a pocketbike clutch? mine has bolts in the center of each pad, I don't have a wear issue I think one of the bolts is backing out so it engages at idle and stalls.
My motor does not even have a woodraf key I the new clutch is lager than the tapered shaft
Thanks for setting me straight I love building bikes!
That is awesome yeah. Imma try it.
What clutch did you buy to fix this?
i got the ebay 49cc kit with a belt transmission and it's good except either the clutch flyweight or the drum bell vibrate a bit at full throttle
You make a good video but the interlude tunes are way fucking loud, Thank You
😂...sorry! I’ll address that in future vids. Thanks for sticking in there
I have this same exact bike with same exact kit on it
Put a predator 212 carb on mine and removed the baffle on the muffler and it has tons of torque now.
Yep. Good set up.
I’ve heard of people just removing the springs altogether and they say it’s great. Might try it just for giggles…..
My engine is brand new and right out of the box on first start engages the clutch and wheel spins and seems to be idling really high and revs high without turning the throttle
Mines doing the same thing staying engaged..how to fix?
??
I also got a new engine and wore down the clutch trying to get it moving. I got a new clutch and tried your spring mod, but it didn't work. I still can't move. This is my second of this engine. My other engine is the belt drive. It runs great with lots of torque. I'm really disappointed with the new one. Do you have any other suggestions how I can fix the new chain drive clutch?
Same
Need to change that 17 tooth front sprocket to a 12 or 10 makes a big difference also in acceleration
But does it change top end?
@@user-rv8dw1wx6g less teeth on the front sprocket more bottom power less top speed more teeth on the front sprocket less power on the bottom higher top speed
I run a 10 on front, 36 on rear. Does great!
I have the same problem. Did it help with the wear of the clutch, because my clutch was gone after 5 miles of riding. Thanks!
Kris Pau : yeah...its the springs! The clutch has been sitting in the assembled engine for who knows how long and it locks it place and becomes dust very quickly. This method is a quick fix. It will help until you order and receive a new clutch. If your pads are gone before doing this, then it is already too late.
My story!
Hey there can you plzzz make a video on how to put transmitssion fluid into that
I got a new motor and it said it did not come with transmission oil in it and I have to put it but I do not know how or where
Or can you tell me how in the comments
mine was gone. the clutch arms that hold the pads together are gone. one of the arm broke off and lock up the whole thing. didn't drive that thing no more than 30min. my brother was the one who was dogging it. we did notice some thing was wrong in the beginning. it wasn't moving as fast even though the engine was running half of its speed but we though it was normal since its our first centrifugal clutch drive. 30mm later the engine lock up and find out the clutch assembly self destructed. i was piss.
I honda goes forever on the clutch it is provided. These engines are only as good as we improve them! Let's keep on having fun in the meantime!
@@bassjumpblues3631after the factory clutch went bad i replace it with a ebay knock off clutch. so far the clutch still held up to this day. every time before i make a long trip i open up the bell housing to inspect the clutch and see if the clutch is suitable for the long ride but so far i been noticing it only have normal wear. i begin to have fate in these clutch. i came to a conclusion that the clutch material that comes with the engine are made from a cheaper material. i've been thinking installing a CVT on this thing. we'll see about it.
Can I use any different clutch for my 49 cc or does it have to be the same one
As long as the ID or the inner diameter is the same. To be honest there are probably only 3 kinds you can choose from on the mass market
@@SouthernCustomCC which clutch u recommen ? I was thinking of getting one like ur clutch
Any clutch that takes a 5/8 shaft will work but keep in mind that it can’t be bigger than your clutch bell/rotor , I think for the huasheng it is about 78mm
Holy Moses! that really got toasted
no, it didn't, although it was a shit clutch don't get it twisted, at theme parks using the gocart version of the transmission and the same engine they replace the clutches daily and clean them out every few days. it is a disposable clutch. that is why most of them are less than 20 bucks.
Can you take the clutch off and use a belt instead of having to buy clutch’s every other week
Does this work for the 2 spring and 2 arm setup
Yup
The amount of clutch i went through made me wish i went with a 80cc at the beginning.
You’re hilarious, the 2 strokes are 5 times as much maintenance to keep on the road
@@MrThatnativeguy all these things are trash honestly. They're too small and get too hot.
The 2 strokes suck i typically do 212ccs,just got a 49cc 4stroke but I can't get it to idle low enough for the clutch to not grab lol they sell heavy springs ? Or it the small gold screw on carb for air mix so I can maybe obtain a lower rpm idle
Does anyone think this engine would be louder then my 49cc common AliExpress Plastic red casing 2 stroke? You know the one you see for sale all over online , tryna get a bit quieter on my stand up scooter , maybe a wee bit more speed
can you try using tape on it
He dont explain what the springs do. Spings have tension. They throw out the clutch to grab the hub at a certain RPM. If to loose the bike will take off once the motor is cranked. On the other side if to tight or strong, it will take a lot of RPM to throw it into the hub. If ur adjusting the springs be careful with it. And when u start the bike make sure ur gf isnt in front of it waiting to go get a burger. Research it before u play with the springs.
Esse motor é muito bom mas essa embreagem centrífuga não vale nada coloquei coroa 60 dentes ficou top
I wish someone told me the clutch bolt was regular threaded. I cant undo the clutch bolt now. 🙁 flat head screwdriver bends.
Why isnt the clutch have a key in it, that might be part of the problem if its rotating on the shaft
hi i have a question? my engine came with a diferente clutch, looks like 3 pads with a screw in the middle of the pads, i looked in amazon or Ebay but cant find it do u know how its call and where to find it!!!
Hi! I'm not sure what clutch you have unless it came with an upgraded pocket bike clutch. Typical clutch replacements cost $8-$20.
ok thanks!!!
Anderson Roco sir, you have the straight shaft version of 49cc , gasbike.net sells a replacement clutch for the straight shaft huasheng
@@MrThatnativeguy yea.i got it my bike run 100% much better.thanks!
i do want to get the original honda one.and an original bike too!
Great video Mines was doing the same I was smelling burning while operating it noticed the tension was kinda lose and i tightened the tension adjust the chain took it for a test run and the burning smell stop it pick up speed and no one is saying but this engine has a two speed transmission
Mine wants to take off as soon as I pull the cord, and stationary it won't move at all. Any advice guys?
Alexander Gill what transmission/ crankshaft do you have?
it's probably idling high, there is a screw in the bottom of the crab under the pull start that you can loosen and tighten to adjust the idle speed.
guys if you have the same symptoms, my problem was that one of the clutch pads came loose and was engaging as soon as I pulled the cord. I just ripped out the shitty oem clutch and bought a new one for £20/$30 and it works fine.
Mine does the. Same thing?
All this guy wants to talk about it and talk is how dirty the damn thing is
I like the 49cc 4 strokes good amount of power but I've heard the single chain transmission is junk. May try a 4G eventually. I have an ebay kit with belt drive but it's the bushing clutch. The actual clutch is different on mine it has bolts in the middle of the pads, one came loose so have to tighten it.
You can find dual chain trans too.
Yeah I have a chain drive and it doesn't take off as quick don't get me wrong it's nice and fast but takes a while to get up to it I've also heard the belt drives catch better 👍
You didnt show a take off after the fix, why?
Editing. I thought I got the point across. I'll be doing a side by side comparison on this 49cc 4 stroke engine with another 50cc 2 stroke engine. You’ll be able to see the take off in that video for sure. Thanks for being a part of the community! 👍
Notice beginning video he repeatedly gassed the motor till clutch started to engage then backed off
(((( OVER N OVER N OVER N OVER )))
This is why clutch brake material all over..
Fake News Video like CNN
That is NOT sufficient lube on the chains!!
not a big fan of how the 4 stroke engines look on a bike but i will say that if you get a good one it will out last any china doll hands down . and there is room it looks like for some gear ratio changes for speed or power .
I’ve got a 4 stroke on a board track bike I built. You have to add and remove things to make em look right
@@williamsporing1500 yeah i bet but i bet it was worth it . now i cant speak for the drive train im sure they wont last as long as a good engine . but its hard to beat a good four stroke engine for reliability .
Your music blasting 20x higher than your voice is dicky
A little air in that back tire wouldn't hurt either.
They may not look filled because I'm a fat a$$! Lol! But they are just shy of 40psi.
@@SouthernCustomCC 👍🆒🚴💨🏁
figure out how to set your record levels geeeeezzzzz
motorized bikes are not for hairdressers.
You sound like some little old woman complaining about a clutch-housing being dirty, and smelly, put ur purse down and fix it ffs, lol
