They might look stupid but Filipino always do things that make them happy specially when they're with their friends. They always have a positive mind whatever happens in their life, always enjoying small or big things.
I think the reason why we always do the competition swimming style coz we try to mimic those professional swimmers but we do it in floods(and take note everyone loves when you do it) 😂

Philippines is a very hot country, and I think by nature, we tend to enjoy swimming. So floods gives us the chance to swim without having b to go to the beach or a local pool, the whole neighborhood is your pool!

That is called "Filipino Resiliency". Unfortunately, that idea is also used as a distraction from the fact that the government is not doing enough to fix the drainage systems that should prevent such floods to appear on our streets.

This is embarrassing but people in our country really does these things since we always have the rainy season. When I say Rainy season it’s more like typhoon, super typhoon, and a whole lot of raining! So flood is somewhat normal during this season. Although we suffer more than we enjoy rain and typhoon, our people are very optimistic and hopeful because we know that in a just a few days the sun will come out again. We are a tropical country with a lot of rain and a whole lot of sun all year round. And I love living here 😍⛈☀️

Meaning, no one can beat or put a Filipino down not a strong typhoon nor any calamities and disasters. In Manila and in some areas in the Philippines had a constant of flooding whenever typhoon comes and the Filipinos already used to it. What they do instead of staying at home and make fuss out of it they go out and have fun in the flood. They treat the flood as a swimming pool, most Filipinos loves to swim even if some of them don't know how to swim, lol!

Philippines is situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire, hence it is visited with disasters such as typhoons, low pressures which causes flashfloods. In this regard, the country is used to these disasters. It's heartwarming to see positivity in the midst of these even if the possible damages could be worst.

Even the buildings are designed with flooding in mind. Concrete blocks, stucco, and concrete floors are common building materials. If it floods, you just clean the floor and walls. No dry wall to replace. No ruined carpet. In many other countries, a flood would require major repairs. There, many buildings just need a cleaning and they are habitable again.
Don’t forget earthquakes and volcano eruptions.
