Omg the second story reminds me of a guy I used to know… I raided with a blood dk MT and I recall we kept wiping on progression on a boss because of one particular hard hitting ability the boss was doing, and everyone was getting frustrated and the tank was blaming our healers for ‘letting him die’ at the same point of every pull…. eventually the healers asked: “you’re saving all your damage mitigation abilities for when the boss does the thing right?” Tank: “what do you mean?” Healers: “like you’re saving IB and AMS etc for that moment of the fight right?” Tank: “lol why would I use IB, that’s a frost spell and I’m blood? And AMS is a pvp ability??? I don’t even have them on my bars” He had been raiding for months without ever using any tank cds 😂 I don’t even know how the healers kept him alive for so long and how we actually progressed on heroic bosses
You know, a lot of the stuff the hairdresser suggested is actually right. Mirroring is a well known psychological phenomenon. It sounds creepy to you when its being presented like this, but its something a lot of people actually just do automatically and its something I've seen mentioned in resources for autistic people who won't have that natural instinct to do it. Its listed alongside tricks like looking at someones forehead rather than their eyes to fake eye contact. If you keep an eye out for it you'll probably see people in your life doing it. Complimenting someone on something they've actually put effort into is another bit of good advice. Like, I don't doubt that the class would have been a scam, but she's at least heard of some actually good social skills advice to give out.

You'll notice that you do it around family, close friends, romantic partners, etc. For example, notice how you'll pick up a quirky phrase a friend says after hanging around them. That's mirroring. Some people are taught to increase this behavior intentionally to make personal connections faster, like spies or even salespeople. It has to be subtle to be believable- not like this weird dating class haha that's creeepppyyy!
