Super based preach. Vash'jir is indeed one of the best zones ever made, honestly anytime someone tells me they had trouble with combat, I just truly think they must suck at the game, not to be mean, but it really isn't that hard to figure out how to fight in a zero gravity like environment. I get not meshing with it if you have thassliophoba, or just not a water person in general, but as a zone it's dope as fuck with a tight fun narrative, and truly awesome art design.
I used to be a Amazon deliver driver for around 3 years and I also binged all the drama times whenever music got old to me. And I did it MULTIPLE times 😅😂
this is so awesome, I used to do the same but for other podcasts whenever delivering cars at the dealership I was working back few years ago, podcasts can easily make it less boring
I have a playlist of his best drama times... "the real Australian" and "destroyed by a child" make me laugh so damn hard every time I go back and listen to them.
To the first story: I don't even know where to start. Raiding is a team sport, like soccer. You agree to go to the soccer match, or you can't afford it that weekend, which is fine. But if you show up, and you already played the half time you can't just go and say "that was nice guys, but i've gotta play table tennis now with other guys". Your team depends on you, and you depend on them. How can someone not see that? Him not even beeing able to understand something simple as that leaves me questioning how he's handling his other activities in real life. Just my two cents. PS: Thanks for the great work your putting into this Preach. Always having a blast listening to drama time :)
Everytime someone says they raid for 3 hrs or less, it blows preach’s brain clear across the room. Like he cant think for a good 10 seconds afterwards every time. Which is just so funny to me, cause most people in semi-hardcore guilds probably raid 2-3 hrs a night. Yes, semi, hard, core.
I don't have the patience or time to raid.... so guess what? I don't raid. I do love M+ though. I came back for dragonflight and i hadn't played since MoP. (Im a healer) So my very first M+ ever was in season 1 DF. In S1 i got ksm, and this season i just timed my first +20. Having a blast. Almost all of it has been pugs. I just recently joined a guild and we run together and in learning to tank m+.
I feel like there may be a difference between the last story and your experience, Preach. The story seemed to just kinda want everything despite being told why they're not getting everything, but with you, your old guild didn't remotely tell you how to prepare until you thought you prepared enough only for them to move the goalposts on you. Your guild should've told you *everything* you need to prepare with, not string you along. If you tell someone "you need to do this first" and nothing else, they do it and come back and then you go "okay but fire resistance?" that's bullshit cause they never said that, they were leading you along.
I had a normal dungeon run LFG in cata. Me and my friend queued up as tank/healer, the DPS couldn't even kill the trash, they didn't know how to press buttons. These things actually happen in WoW
I don’t know if it’s been said, but the first story is very similar to the GW2 story of the guy who signed up for a raid and left when he was tired instead of staying at the assigned time. Silly behavior.
I know different guilds have different approaches, but it does seem crazy to bench someone on a normal. Like either the author of the story is actually awful and was carried to cutting edge, or the RL just treats his guild raids like a pug. I could not imagine benching a guild member without at least giving them a couple attempts on mechanics. Then if you are going to have to bench them you gotta have more tact than that RL.
23:01 i remember in wod after finally leaving the hardcore guild where we did minimum 5 raids 5 hours each a week whose raid leader killed my love for raiding and i then spent a month away from the game. i had distanced myself from the char i had played with at the time which had been my main for 2½ expansions at that point, leveled a new char from scratch, and i absolutely fell in love with that spec. joined a guild that did raiding, we were towards the end of the expansion a whole tier after i had taken a month off btw, i got to max, purposefully declined joining any raids because i hadn't geared up fully so i'd be worthy of stepping into heroic; even though they urged me to come earlier, i finally joined a raid after a month of hardcore gearing outside raids and... it was the first time i had ever joined a guild that PUGGED guild raids. yes, we were killing bosses, yes they were falling over easy as pie. but i was so horrified by what i had seen instead of using your own guild members to raid, that i didn't do another raid in all of wod. absolute. crushing. disappointment. i didn't leave however and did one more raid in emerald nightmare once legion released. after we got stuck on the spider boss and raid ended, i left immediately and joined a more proper guild. hearing from friends in that other guild, they couldn't kill ursoc on normal.
Much better for the rl to act quickly even in normal, my guild carried a few people through nathria normal then heroic and we had to bench them, took too long to do it and many people had already started looking around, guild es no mas
1st Story: I'm a casual 2500M+/AotC raider. And our guild, as casual and scummy as we can be, still has rules for missing raid or bailing on raid and being on time. And bailing on raid to go run M+ with your pals will result in constant shaming in both gchat and Discord. Sometimes to the point you quit the guild. If you can't handle us at our shitty prog, you don't deserve us at our swapblastering you before farm bosses.
i love the balls on the dude form first story . and tbh im not surprised - dude was likely in there only for his AOTC and would bail anyway . he was m+ player first - wanted to try raiding - he did and he realised that raiding is for sweatlords while m+ is just supreme experience thats why i stopped raiding years ago and loved wolk classic because i coudl jst pug hc icc whenever i wanted :) raiding should have been just changed to flex 5-10 man years ago or scrapped from game .
I think there should be a form of player organization specifically for players like "Schmevan". Super casual groups where player absentees aren't considered a big deal, just PUG the slots you need to basically emulate a flex raid. Players just coming from LFR/PUGs should be directed to this kind of group, and then the ones who want something more serious can move on to actual guilds. I realize there are cesspool guilds that somewhat fill this role, but I think new players/casuals would be less confused about expectations if they were separate groups.
WoW Made Easy on Discord is basically that. That being said, they have a big emphasis on "Not being a Dick" rules and will ban people very quickly for bad behavior.
55:30 - It's something guild I'm in should do. We have a healer that just does not put in any effort judging by the logs and his talent setup. He's either a supergenius holy priest that can make superduper healing builds that can just spam heal and get an orange parse or... no he's just not putting in any effort and just presses heal. Why he isn't getting benched is beyond me. Instead we are forcing a good dps to make up for him by healing the raid. Instead of clearing heroic before xmas we only killed fyrakk first time last week.
So i do wanna say about the dude who left to pug M+ they did say he was a new player with 0 raid experience or etiquette that we have come to expect for raiding it sounded like he just didnt know what he signed up for
I’m an NPC raider like Preach was speaking of. Don’t say a word and top 3 dps every pull. I’m not playing for the friendship aspect. I don’t care to be friends outside of raid.
@@DoppelgangerTH it’s like how giveaways say “no purchase required” but you have to buy something in order to get the code or whatever. It simply means if you are paying for this service you’re likely using it for something already, and this is something extra you can get from it. Literally no one is saying “buy the game pass so you can play this one game for free”
In that last story, this is what one of the guild some of my character's are in does, although I don't raid or play dragonflight much at the moment. They only ever raid enough to do curve for the team, and then maybe do a run again at some point ro get the achievements done. Difference here being they still log in for other stuff they want to do, but, honestly, I think raiding just for curve is a lot more common, especially with more casual raid teams. They don't bench though XD.
As someone asked "do the police even do that?" For the illegally downloaded music. Yes they do, depending on the law in your country downloading music illegally may be a grey area, like where I'm from it's not illegal to download, but it's illegal to seed. It also depends on how aggressive the copyright laws are, but if you ever catch the attention of the police as a private person you definently fucked up and you will get fucked by the copyright/trademark holders, in dollarinos tens of thousands in fines is not uncommon. I also depends what internet you are using, if you are using anything but a private or secured line you're gonna get caught. I knew a guy who ended up owing 20,000$ in fines because he got caught seeding illegal music through my former schools Internet, police called the school since whoever owns the internet connection gets the fine, unless it's a case of a school f.ex., then the establishment is required to find the individual responsible, or get left with the fine themselves.
There are always two sides to the story, did the “officers” those in charge of the raid make clear how they were raiding. IMO this sounds like a lack of communication overall. From the rather pug M+ it just sounds like they really didn’t communicate how they raid and what they expect prior to making groups. Other people leaving it clearly shows me that it was poor communication.
