    I purchased and used this MT900 2 man tent for just myself - after considerable research around price & weight. I endorse everything said in this video review. It is very intuitive to erect & take down, and fold away. The compression bag comes with instructions sewn in. Very useful to start with, & I guess you could cut these out when you know what you are doing, saving a few grams ! It's nicely made and has some really nice features. I was looking for a 2 man tent, light enough to be carried & used by 1 person. I've done enough camping to know that if the weather is damp, then you do need space, and in that regard, used by a single person, this tent has plenty of room. I was lucky in that my trip was dry, apart from a heavy overnight dew. It was quite breezy, so I pitched with the guy ropes attached, and it was very solid. I purchased 6 x MSR lightweight additional pegs, which I used for the guys, & turned out to be a good idea. The outer kit "triangles" as an extension of the groundsheet, under the flysheet, are a really useful feature. I stashed my shoes, cooking & kitchen kit in these area. I also purchased a footprint - which is necessary, especially if camping on gravel or stones, because the groundsheet is both thin and slippy (that's the waterproofing), so the footprint gives protection, and they really don't weigh that much more to carry. I would use it for 2 people (medium sized !!!), but only for a day or two in dry weather. In wet weather, regardless of it's waterproof qualities, it could be cramped for 2 plus wet & damp gear. In summary, I am very impressed with the Forclaz MT900 2 man tent from Decathlon & I recommend.

      Thank you so much for leaving your feedback after using this tent. Those are some valuable tips and information👍🏻 We agree that for 1 person it can be a great tent and the vestibules looked promising. So true about the wet damp weather, when the space becomes so much more important. Experienced it a lot when camping for many days.
      We never pitch and use a tent without groundsheet especially with such a thin ground. Thanks again! And hope you enjoy your camping with it!

      I was looking at the Big Agnes Copper Spur for a backpacking trip but it costs double the amount this one does to save approx 200-300 grams. Do you think the Forclaz is light and packable enough for a solo thru-hike?

    I have the 1 person version for bike-packing and love it for all the reasons you show in your video. It’s light, warm, airy, waterproof ( in rainy UK) and keeps my bike bags, shoes and helmet dry in the single vestibule. I use the footprint which only adds 250g for the 1 person tent. 1.4kg with footprint. I can also cook in the vestibule when it’s pouring with rain. This makes it a luxury compared to the bivvy bags or some lighter 1 person tents used by friends. I agree that the 2 person version is cramped for 2 and am looking at the 3 person version for me and my husband. I have heard a lot of complaints re getting spares and repairs for MSR outside of the US and the Decathlon guarantee is 5 years compared to 3 years for MSR. I’m very impressed with the well thought out features of my Forclaz 1 person tent 😊 I’m leaning towards the Forclaz 3 person dome over the MSR Mutha Hubba for value and durability.

      Awesome to hear about your experience with this tent, thanks for sharing! It is a very decent tent for its category, we were also quite impressed by it. What is your opinion about footprint in the vestibules? It was one of our concerns. On one side it can useful and on the other you may not want to have it in some situations. The limited space was another disadvantages for us, 3 person version would be nice but for hiking it adds up quite a bit of weight then. For bike trips it may be an option. Hubba Hubba is still on our list to try but because of it being pricey we weren't able to invest in it yet.

      Thank you! We do think it is amazing for one person due to its dimensions and the weight isn't too bad. It seems quite versatile and solid, we even included it in our just released video about winter gear. So it is a nice purchase and hope you enjoy it! What auction did you get it from by the way?

      @@WalkingNatureWorld Hi, I use a Decathlon MH100 3 Person tent, it has plenty of room for me and occasionally another person. I’ve been very happy with it. For bike packing, it is a little bit heavy but that is always a trade off for the extra room. It’s fairly bullet proof, dry and lots of room, easy to put up, and spares (poles etc) are easily available. Merry Christmas!

      Buy the 2p tent. I have the 1 person tent and it's a bit small with only 60 cm width. There is no room for movement without touching the "walls". The 2-p tent seems to be perfect for 1 person. You have a "lot" of room for movement and the tent is still not that heavy. The weight and price is worth it!

    2 person MT 500 or trek 500 depending where one is in the world, cost about half of this one and have a much better fly and ground sheet. Only downsides of mt 500 tent is that it's slightly heavier than this and little pain in the ass to pitch intially.

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  Год назад

      The MT500 seems like a nice tent too, but the weight different can be a bit too much at 2.8kg for this tent. But if you can split the weight for 2 people, it can be a great budget self-standing option.

    Спасибо за обзор. Мы прямо совпадем с вами в выборе. Хотя для Электра мы не искали замену. Элексир приобретен именно для более холодных треков (как Исландия, для которой, собственно, его и купили). Да, эта палатка ощущается более тесной, в сравнении с МСР, но, мы нашли для себя огромный ряд ощутимых плюсов в ней. Это и пол в тамбурах, и сборник двери тента (открыть можно одной рукой и дверь не падает в рязь), хорошие весовые характеристики и , что ещё не маловажно - короткая нарезка дуг. Мне гораздо легче паковать е в рюкзак. От МСР же, например, дуги всегда ношу отдельно (к слову саму палатку при этом пакую в чехол от этой, т.е. от Форклаза). В колышки я привязал короткие темляки, мне они очень нравятся (забиваю камнем, а вытягиваю любым другим из них же). Так что, когда поход у нас в более менее теплую и неветренную погоду , то выбор падает именно на Форклаз (ходили с ней в Черногории по СТ1). В холод и сильный ветер - Элексир. Но, недавно приобрели себе еще одну, бескаркасную. Так что теперь имеем три варианта выбора под разные варианты трекинга.
    Ещё раз спасибо за обзор. 👍🙂

      @WalkingNatureWorld  Год назад +1

      Спасибо вам за комментарий. Здорово иметь несколько разных палаток для разных климатических зон и условий, мы пока в поиске своего подходящего комплекта. Для нас МСР пока самый лучший вариант несмотря на ее минусы в плане компактности и веса. Форклаз также понравился именно этим и чехол у нее из самых лучших. Мы думаем сделать сравнение МСР и Форклаз в скором времени, так как тоже рассматривали эти варианты для покупки изначально.

      @@WalkingNatureWorld раскрою секрет 🙂 (или похвастаюсь... 🤔). В общем, наша третья палатку, это Tarptent Stratospire 2 , но из обычных тканей (что определяет не самый запредельный ценник). Она реально просто огромная (там можно даже три коврика положить) Ее габариты по полу больше, чем стандарт - 220*138, а ставить надо на палку 125см, что хорошо добавляет объем в голове. При том что конструкция ассиметрична, палка не препятствует входу внутрь. Никакой Ланшан и там рядом не стоял. Минусы (или ограничения) тоже есть. Требуется большая площадь для установки, и сложно встать на каменистом грунте. Все же колья, это и есть то, что называется несущая конструкция. Но мы ее взяли именно после того, с чем столкнулись прошлым летом, когда во всех аэропортах мира был полный бардак, багаж терялся и не прибывал, а мы должны были лететь в Исландию с пересадкой. Когда палатка на 20 дней в такой дорогой стране, как эта, это главное твое жилище, то прилететь туда, что называется, без крыши над головой, было для нас просто реальной головной болью. В результате, одолжил у приятеля Ланшан на всякий случай (Элексир поехал в багаже). Все обошлось, Ланшан оставили в камере хранения, багаж получили. Но это был тот самый момент, когда на консультацию палатки я взглянул СОВСЕМ под другим углом зрения. И да, палаткой мы ОЧЕНЬ довольны (уже сходили в пару походов у нас в стране). Спасибо за видео, ребята. Интересно очень вас смотреть 🙂👍

      Спасибо за ваши комментарии и то что поделились опытом. Это новая для нас палатка(мир палаток просто огромен, сложно все объять), звучит интересно. Всегда здорово открывать для себя что-то новое. И иметь несколько палаток просто необходимо нам кажется для разных походов и местности. Ланшан у нас тоже как-то не прижилась, может потому что одностенная, не пробовали другую версию.

    Which tent do you recommend between the MT 900 2p and the Naturehike Mongar 2 ?

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  15 дней назад +1

      They are both great tents that have their pros and cons. But we personally prefer the Mongar 2 tent for even easier set up and several other features, it seemd more solid to us and more reminescent to MSR Elixir that has been pur favourite for years. You can check out our separate reviews for both fo the tents where you can hear our detailed thoughts and hopefully it will help you decide on the best tent for your needs.

      We are pretty sure that there will be enough space in 3 person version according to the dimensions but we didn´t hold it in our hands. What stops us is the weight, we were searching for a more lightweight tent under 2kg and the 3 person version weighs 2.7kg

    9 мм толщина дуг? Это очень много! У Hilleberg это толщина дуг Black Label серии. При этом дно палатки на 40D это маловато. Странный выбор инженеров Forclaz. Я считаю что надо было сделать дуги тоньше, а пол толще. Но в любом случае это моя палатка, я использую её на одного человека, но можно и на пару с женой. Сильное преимущество этой модели это закрытые "крылышки" по бокам. За счёт этого действительно можно разместить вещи за пределами комнаты и места хватает.

    • @WalkingNatureWorld
      @WalkingNatureWorld  Год назад

      Да, какие-то моменты в этой палатке неоднозначны. Но ее качество достаточно конкурентоспособно поэтому мы видим ее перспективность. Конечно хотелось бы просторнее для этого веса или тогда ещё легче но уж как есть.
      Спасибо что поделились вашим опытом. Нам также понравились ее вестибюли, они уникальны в своём роде.
