      @@zakirmurji5953 no worries man I’ll check it out and see if I can find it! I hope you don’t take my comment out of context either don’t get me wrong there’s no doubt about Matt Berkey being a great player and I don’t doubt he’s not capable of making high card hero calls but this particular scenario I just don’t see it happening. With it being a SRP and him playing Dnegs OOP the only mistake he made here was not committing to that third barrel which is totally understandable. Board favors Dnegs range a lot more especially since he has such a wide range of hands. It was a great play nonetheless if turn card was a blank Dnegs would of folded to that 10k bet but it playing out the way it did you just can’t make that call with Q high with Dnegs calling behind you and tbh I don’t think Berkey expect him to make that bet I’m assuming he thought Dnegs would bet smaller and he was going to rejam and take it but Dnegs just beat him to the punch.

    • @zakirmurji5953
      @zakirmurji5953 2 года назад +1

      @@ZoneD327 Yeah but I’m also just confused why Berkey chose to make a move…No immediate “nut” outs…maybe he had a live read that Dnegs was weak? If turn is a brick then yeah Dnegs folds, but just because he would have folded doesn’t make it a great play. Seems spazy…but then again it could have been based on live reads. And yeah almost impossible to call with Q high though agreed.

    I felt like Daniel should have ripped the turn. His hand was blocking some combos of the nuts and he picked up a lot of equity. Assuming he can get Berkey to fold a better hand even 30% of the time it becomes an auto-profit move and considering basically every one of Berkey's hands, including bluffs, beats ten high I think he easily folds better often enough.

      Any floated ace got there, any 9 is likely calling, as well as most of the 8s that chose this line of bet/call call.
      He simply didnt put Daniel on a 10 high, cause thats the very bottom of his range, and you dont play around less than 10% probability in poker.
      If you bet big there, you are punting in the long run, if you size down, you are putting yourself in a tough spot after getting raised, which should happen a lot in this line and runout. You should simply know your spots to give up on bluffing, and this one was a good example.

      @@explorerturk I said that he would most likely not hit his card. This is all based on the line he decided to take. He decided to show a lot of strength by check raising the flop and barreling turn. It's unlikely that negreanu is going to call a flop check-raise with ace high with no flush draw on the flop. my point was that if he takes the line of check raising a gut-shot and barreling turn he needs to be prepared on shoving pretty much any River Card including an ace. otherwise he shouldn't take that line to begin with it's never profitable if you're just going to meekly check the river, do you think that he thought he had Showdown value with Queen High of course not he just pussied out on river

    • @connman8d617
      @connman8d617 2 года назад

      @@nowayjose1482 You don't know nearly enough about poker to be criticizing Matt Berkey. It is very likely that he planned to fire the third barrel but he elected to give up specifically because the Ace is better for his opponent's range than his. Sure, Negreanu doesn't just call a flop check/raise with nothing but a backdoor flush draw but there's no reason he can't have a hand like A8 that would fold on any river but an Ace or Eight. Poker is all about narrowing down ranges and Matt is narrowing Daniel's range throughout the hand and comes to the conclusion that he won't fold often enough to make a river bluff profitable on THIS SPECIFIC river. Hence the give up. He expects it to go check/check and he expects to lose. It's okay not to mindlessly barrel off your entire stack just because you lack showdown value.

    I think Berkey is extremely entertaining for a guy with zero charisma. I don’t mean that in a bad way. I love his solve for why channel however, he is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

    You don’t need a hand to bet, but you must have something to call! He would NEVER call an all in bet with Q high. I don’t care what he says.

    Daniel plays super loose in cash games and super tight in tournaments. Should be other way around.

      @@jimbojones9118 His cash game style would make him place higher in tournaments. I've watched him play many online tournaments. he just plays nitty maintaining an average/below average stack the whole tournament until he is down to 20 times the blind gets one bad beat and is out. in cash games he is playing 97 suited like it is AK or pocket 10s out of position to 3 bets and 4 bets preflop. if you think those are good tournament and cash game strategies you are an idiot.
