    Finding Equilibrium had a brilliant breakdown of this hand and other hands where Addamo made insane overbets and huge shoves. The problem is that knowing he has moves like this, you sort of have to construct a calling range for his insane overbets. Very few players are comfortable with such high variance calls, because if he has the goods you feel kinda stupid for calling in those spots. Then again, if someone makes you fear valuebetting you are in trouble

      @@pot_kivach160 I'm not confusing anything, I'm questioning whether people (not you, not one in particular, just your random YT commenter) have the poker skills to even recognize a mistake in the first place.
      Since we're at the stage of making obvious statements, I'll remind you that in poker losing a hand (including getting bluffed off a winning hand) doesn't mean a mistake was made, as opposed to what you're being so sure about. Recognizing a spoilt egg is easy and anyone can get a grasp on it, but it's a pretty dull comparison since a shitton of other topics in life require some degree of expertise to formulate an informed opinion, which imo includes a complex hand played between two of the best nl mtt players in the world.
      By the way, Schindler is no hero of mine and his river line is solver approved. You should check out the breakdown of this hand on Finding Equilibrium.

    • @SuperSissen
      @SuperSissen 2 года назад +2

      @@pot_kivach160 Yes, the solver approved that (not "a winning hand", because that is not an available information, but to bet-fold most QQ combos). Again, go watch the breakdown of the hand. Poker is a game of probabilities and not of exact informations. The fact that the outcome of one iteration is unfavorable doesn't make the line a mistake.
      And yes, given how much knowledge you clearly have about the basic tools pros use to analyse poker HHs (cf. "so-called solver"), we much definitely shouldn't be debating that. Those guys play poker to a level that isn't anywhere close to being within your comprehension.

      Schindler can't have the boats and straights when he checks back turn and caps himself to not having those hands, as they all want to bet turn when checked to (i think)....so, yes, Jake will open 77 and 55 and call a 3b from BB, and he'll do the same with 98s, but again those hands bet turn. addamo will take the same flop and turn line with 98s and AK, and i imagine he will check river with some frequency with them too. i think 98s benefits more from a river c/r as opposed to AK, as AK blocks a lot of the Kx combos jake opens and calls pre (KQ, KJ, KTs), but i could be wrong. lastly, addamo is ultimately repping razor thin here...but simce Jake is capped on turn and he (mike) is still uncapped and still retains the aforementioned big hands, his play still is good and "believable".

      Schindler had a decent bet at the start so Addamo probably put him on a higher AK, AQ, KQ, or higher pair from the start. When the flop came and Addamo bet 19k (about 1/3rd pot) and Schindler only called that told him he probably didn't have a King since he didn't raise. That left him with AQ, or a higher pair that wasn't the King like AA, QQ, or JJ. Check/Check after the turn card doesn't change much but could have Schindler thinking He was being slowrolled with Addamo possibly having a King or 8/9 for a straight. With the river card being another King, Schindler has to again think about possible trips or a straight which either would have beaten his two pair. Ultimatly the all in was a combination value bet thinking Schindler could have the AQ and didn't pair up leaving his 7/7 pair as top hand. Or having over 75k in the pot it was more of a bluff and hoping that he repped having a King hard enough or possible straight to get Schindler to fold for his tournament life if he was holding AA/QQ/JJ

    • @imalwaysbluffing
      @imalwaysbluffing 2 года назад

      QQ doesn’t seem like it’s that high up in your calling range. Schindler is going to have K10s+ here and is going to check a lot of those combos on the turn. Adammo can have AK here because the turn check back caps Schindler’s range. If you think the value range is AK+ you would rather have the Kx hands that block the value range. Jake also doesn’t have many natural bluffs here. Like what are the flop floats that don’t have showdown? Basically just Ax suited floats. That means when he does bet fold more of the fold will come from thin value hands rather than bluffs.

    • @moeduh
      @moeduh 2 года назад

      @@imalwaysbluffing to expand upon your point saying jake pretty much always has value here as his flop floats would almost always bet turn..... given this, what do we think of a very small bet on river from Jake? since we basically have no bluffs can we just bet 10-15% on river and feel better about calling a check/raise? addamo can still c/r for all of it but i think he's less incentivized to do so facing a tiny bet. also since Jake caps himself to largely showdown/value when he checks back turn and bets river, he really can't balance bluffs vs value when he goes 60% on the river, right? so it becomes pretty exploitable (if you're a sicko and can read the situation in flow and then reach down deep to pull off the play like addamo did here)

    I just don’t see how you don’t call with black queens in that spot. You block all combos of KQ suited. You realistically only lose to AA and the remaining combos containing a king which get cut in half with the king pairing on the river. You unblock AQ of hearts. Your hand is underrepped by not 4-betting pre. I think going with a bet-fold line is stupid.

    • @moeduh
      @moeduh 2 года назад

      addamo almost always flatting KQs in the BB facing an UTG open 200bb deep... therefore blocking KQs combos becomes moot. addamo never has AA as well after the river check/jam... up until that move he can have it and will usually take that line on flop and turn (and pre obv). stacking off here for 200 effective is reallllly not as easy as you're making it out to be. you seem to think this is some super standard bluff line and that we'll be good here with queens 50% of the time.... not even close. this is value almost always, maybe a bit less given addamos aggro nature. and to your point yes black Queens is a hand that should consider calling off, it's not a clear cut fold. it's not a clear cut anything. this is facing max pressure in a 300k. go look what happened to negreanu when he looked up addamo after he check/raised the turn 10x his bet (3.5k to 36k!) and then jammed 3x pot on river. I could not agree more! 👍
      Addamo realised on turn that he was beat. So, he checked the turn out of scare (!?) and hope that his draw (15 outs!) will hit on river. Once that did not happen - he checked the river. He was expecting that opponent will check it behind. (If the opponent did check it behind, it would’ve been just one of 100 regular hands that has been played around).
      HOWEVER, after the fish bet river, 🤦‍♀️ , then Addamo started thinking. New moment requires additional time to figure right move.
      So, addamo checked his opponent’s profile, realised he played with scared money, (it was easy to see Schindler staring at the Addamo in scare trying to read his hand???🤣😂) so he decided to bully a scare!! Instead of call/folding an inferior hand - he shoved! 👍👍👍
      It worked!! This is where I give Addamo huge point. That’s why he won the whole thing.
