Much love everyone & Happy Thanksgiving :)
The Texas Hold'em Hat has been born
joeingram1 Much love for you bro, and everything you do. Happy thanksgiving.
Even though we don´t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Sweden as you do in America, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry New Year :P
And keep up the good work, love your streams!
I thought that was the Cuban papi hat?
joeingram1 were those thousand dollar chips which casino Wynn?
Why is Doug Polk such a fish??
After the river raise, took a few seconds because of a combination of freezing in the moment to collect my thoughts in a big pot + probably terrible hand analysis on my part. Feel pretty guilty/dumb about it.
Also agree I took too long in my decisions on every street. I try my best to act quickly but in really big pots I sometimes fail. It’s a bad look for poker.
dude ...cut yourself a break ...u executed your hand with poise and grace..and gave nothing away.. in the moment. Half a million dollars calls for allowing yourself to ease in without worrying about outside noise of how it looks...Analysis can be noise and it is overly critical most often times IMO.
Ill go a step further......your tanking brings into the equation that your indulging into "meta game" which can lead to your opponent believing that you are making moves. Which Berkey ultimately does here ~ he fails to see your 5 bet as AA....which is grossly negligent and is a credit to your skill set. I mean you are out of position in the hand and still 5 BETTING ...WTF? Those are alarm bells. If your in position not so much...That time you took built that facade...u earned it. Take all the time for half a mill. any day of the week. Dont let anybody bitch about your meta game.
I agree completely. A faster call on the river yes but taking time for the rest of the streets were fine. Taking some time to make a decision makes your hand seem a little more mysterious than if you were to insta call/bet/check.
Congrats for a win, would love to hear your thoughts about your river bet.
Everyone makes mistakes, and that was a pretty small one all things considered...I've watched quite a few videos with you at the table, pretty clearly you're a stand up guy. I'm sure you've gotten a lot of love for your defense of poker etiquette (to put it very mildly) in the hand with Ryan and Mike at the Bike. Well here's a little more, well done Sir!
lol “i know we have a lot of people in chat who play these stakes all the time” 🗡
Funny as fuck
4:30
“OH..MY.. GOD...are you kidding me?” is simply the perfect response.
4:31
The most intense "Oh. My. God." I've ever heard.
creamed his shorts
Berkey is thinking the same as me when i'm on Poker Stars, he see's that ace on turn and thinks 'no way he has AA' right before i lose my $5 stack.
it's just another losing hand. anything can happen in poker.
G does it regularly
This flop and turn brought to you by pokerstars
Would never happen in real life.
@@dingledangle265 At least not 4 times in 60 minutes ...
They meant to deal out 89 too
@@GabrielConstantinides 89 would not reach flop
Flop and turn bought to you by, samaratins helpline! I am balancing my spelling range!
4:32 the way he said it lol
Instantly thought of Randy marsh and the sword of a thousand truths.
Same exact cooler happened to me in a big pot. I felt your pain Berkey. Microstakes online can rip ur heart out sometimes.
Best reaction and voice inflection ever “ OH MY GOD””!!
I agree so much about how 1 hand decide a session. 1-2 bad beats and so often I find myself off the top of my game.
who else is fast forwarding all the unnecessary tanking?
Me. The kid is a twit !
John C that kid would take you for your entire roll lol
The river is the only spot he took to long on imo
Great class by berkey, seriously i wish i could have that same emotional disconnect. I will rewatch this vid for all eternity
OH MY GOD!!!! best part of this hand...the commentary!
Berkey is class how he handles himself! Watched him take some bad beats lately but although hurting inside he never lets anyone see it
Class guy class player he will be back bigger and better
thats a cooler ,not a bad beat...
Berkey is a professional. He took it well. Folks like Phil Helmuth or Tony G would have flipped the table.
holdem5180 i dont really know the difference between the two. what is the difference between a cooler and a bad beat?
MrWeenuk21 The distinction is basically that a cooler is when both players have really strong hands, whereas a bad beat is when someone has a really bad hand that finds a way to crack a really good hand. Like if a good player has trips and moves all in on the turn and a weak player calls a huge bet with a gut shot and ends up hitting it ...
That’s a bad beat.
If you have a straight flush on 10 J Q and the other guy has a royal flush ... that’s a cooler.
@@MrWeenuk21 This hand might be called both a cooler and a bad beat. Set over set is a cooler, your opponent hitting a two-outer on you is a bad beat. In this case mostly a cooler here. AA vs KK is the classic cooler.
Garrett is undoubtably very skilled but this guy runs so damn good it’s unbelievable
running good definitely helps and if someone is running good, someone else is likely running bad.
started playing poker at 12 with my grandfather, great great father, dad and uncles. im 38 now and I have seen a ton of crazy shit in that short time frame. i am not a poker pro, just a semi pro/ recreational player. i make way more $$ trading than Ill ever make playing poker, but poker is such an awesome game, especially 7 card stud but its not as popular as texas holdem. I would play texas holdem professionally if the swings werent so insane at times.
4:32 When a $10,000/Night call girl takes off her cloths
Laughed my ass off
Lmao I didnt know where you were going with this
it only takes a $100 hooker for me
@timothy labeaux chill bro. Lol
@timothy labeaux Dude if her name is Riley Reid, Mia Malkova or Peta Jensen I am putting up 20-30g if that was her asking price. You crazy
I like Garrett but god damn he runs so good its mind blowing
Unbelievable cooler for Berkey. Absolutely unbelievable. Wow. Just wow.
you had to see it coming though based off the graphic in screenshot
also berkey running like doo doo lately
Now compare this with AA vs KK with Sammy Farah and Jamie Gold on High Stakes Poker 😄 I for one sure know which hand I rather watch !
one of the funniest hands I;ve ever seen!!
BPAK22 I rather watch sammy duh
That shit was so obnoxious.
Well tell us then? We ain’t psychic dick
Right? These GTO tards have ruined poker.
I love how you set the chat straight, Joey, Keep these fools in check!!!!
Garrett did not slow roll on the river. It was the editing that made it look like a slow roll. You can see Garrett doing his chip dance with the yellow chips and you can hear Berkey's all in bet hit the felt then Garrett basically snap calls with his chips.
A part from KK+, I would like to know a deep stack bluff range for a 5-bet and a flatting 5-bet range in position.
suited wheel aces as bluffs and flatting be like only aa and kk for me really,. I don't really like the flat call for them reasons because wtf u going to balance it with. Maybe verse some aggro donk whos going to just punt but g man is a boss and going to sniff somehting out.
Great Skill Man and You play perfectly I mean perfectly ! You are borned to play Poker !
They invented DVR's so people could fast forward past the commercials. I want a poker version to skip the tanking.
unun septium if you use the RUclips app on you phone just double tap the right side of the screen to skip 10 seconds. Simple
Tanking is the best poker of poker you tool
how would the other player react if one of them played (lets say 35k) postflop?
Joey....how long was this actual raw hand without your space and the forwarding etc....??
Set over set and maybe a possible straight at the end. I know no one would have called preflop for all that, but the drama!!!! Great stuff!!!
You look like Saturn.
After all that action by Garrett preflop you can easily put him on AA and just call on river.
Garrett did not slow roll on the river. It was the TV editing that made it look like a slow roll. After Berkey goes all in, the editing cuts to Garrett playing with his yellow chips but THEN you can hear Berkey's all-in bet get dropped on the felt AGAIN in the background. Garrett basically snap called..
In the replies here G admitted he had a brain freeze and that it should've been a snap call.
Can you solve for variance?
The no limit hold ‘em hat lol
When you have played poker for several decades, this doesnt surprise you. 5 Bet Ranges being as tight as they ACTUALLY ARE, their is no reason for either guy to be surprised at this showdown. That's why I can say 100% without a doubt, that with the value of a house in the middle, Berkey should 100% be jamming it in on the Flop here. Instead, his weak play cost him 3 houses.
My god you are dumb. He’s still calling with aces and hitting a set on the turn
Well if you really wanna put it that way…
Garrett is 100% calling the flop no matter what bet it is
That is one of the worst analyses I've ever heard. Immortal hands slow play in 4- and 5-bet pots extremely frequently, and for good reason.
Talking of balancing , at 10.19 , is this balancing your sarcasm range? Lol, great vid joey
Shout out to Scott 'No Neck' Seiver
He’s an in bred pig of a human
@@adrock3871 A little harsh. I actually love Scott. He's possibly my favorite poker player. Very funny, loves the game, plays like a savage and great company
@@adrock3871 How much did he beat you for?
"OH MY GOD": best line
Do we know if Berky drove off the bridge after this session?
That is the dopest poker room / table set up I've seen. I love the backdrop of the outside world in the background awesome as fuck.
The best hand i have seen for years.
That was a sick hand nothing you can do there tho. Set over set is just a cooler.
exactly and it happens all the time, just looks better at hi stakes
Sick Spot! Sick Sport...
If a King came on the river they would have won a $5,000 bad beat jackpot! Aces full of Kings, beaten by Quad Kings!
$2,500 going to Adelstein, $1,250 to Berkey and the remaining 4 players would have got a table share of $312.50 each!
I bet after the hand the whole table were pissed that the King didn't come!
John Smith trolling right?
lolololooloolololollo
They playing for thousands I'm sure they dont give a fuck about $312
Lmaoooo
Adelstein smile 9:00 says it all... Damn, it's a cold world for Berkey!
King on the river that would be brutal
Nice slowroll Gman that's some quality hurt
"sometimes we just bet and pray" - NLJoey
Doug Polk must be loving this!!
8:25 u know he's not sitting on a rocking chair! Joe!
Oh My GOD !!! It's just so sick !!!!
Bob is just so rich He s sleeping lol
hey joey go to see you back to your old self brother. can't wait to watch "Real Poker Talk : What to do if your family thinks you're a total degen" amazing.
So thats how garret is successful high stakes pro. Just constantly sucks out in half mil pots haha. Crazy how good he always runs in huge spots
Great video
3 combos of AA, 3 combos of AK, but AK doesn't always 5bet so KK seems like a clear call to me. Even if Garret 5bet bluffs an AQ he prolly isn't betting river because its hard to get value from QQ.
Wow! +$230,000 - not a bad few mins work!
easy come easy go
Berkeley has been running ultra cold lately!
Berkey must of been praying he had AK but probably knew deep down he was gunna see aces getting turned over
harry sendall I agree. The only thing potentially calling that raise was AK. A bad raise in my opinion.
you are crazy dude , if he thought that ,he calls on river
Who 5 bets ak nobody!!!
Hey joe if you have a fire place, build ya fire it’s getting cold where I live! And after you get the fire rolling throw that hat in there!
I'm surprised this doesn't have 1 mil views. If you think about it, in all the poker cooler clips on the internet, this is definitely in the top 10.
plus Gman is in the room
How long did this hand take to play?
I mean, if Garret's calling range on the river is AA, AK then KK has 50% equity when called so jamming is probably bad since it's just extra variance.
Shout out to the high stakes chat
I was hoping king on river. Epic
Garret livin that blessed existence
No one gets away from this. There is no right way to play it without losing all your money. A 5 bet preflop could just mean a bluff or AK.
Wow this deck is icyyyy cold
Ladies and gentleman, if you join solve for why, you too can learn to play poorly and lose just like Matt! Sign up today!
What is the name of this movie?
why the slow roll?
I don't think that was a slow roll, looked like he just didn't notice Matt had finally bet, u can see his double take and then put the chips in as soon as he "notices" Matt put him all in
I was thinking $90,000 bet on the river too. I was thinking $100,000/about 1/2 pot, which would put the price point right in-there for many hands. But then I thought to decrease it to $90,000 just to push the bluff-appearance a bit more. $100,000 could look either strong or hesitant-for-the-shove/not-great, but go to $90 and it pushes it into the not-great looking to save a little. Right then he bet $90 and the weak hand shoves! Sweet.
Cold decked twice ,Damn
Was only two hands you could put Garrett AKs or AA.
Berkey should bet on flop but for sure Garrett wouldn't fold.
oh... my... god
What a nit roll incredible
Two misconceptions, I´ve had right away:
1) First I thought, "Adelstein" was gonna be some weird fancy new nickname for pocket aces (since it was in brackets right next to the hand)! Weird thought, I know!
But 2) (even weirder) I thought this was some 3 day old hand from Doug, that I´ve strangely missed, for some reason..... ;-D
I feel his bet on the turn was the right one for sure
How sick is that hand. I mean thats almost unliker than quads against straight flush :0
the only time this river jam is +EV is if Adelstein calls with AQ and has AQ in his range to 5bet which i guess he might in super deepstacked situations out of position. otherwise it was a mistake
im looking for the pigeon who says its an easy fold lol
Go broke with a set, poker 101
So true......
In a 5 bet preflop, then a lead out with the Ace on the turn, it has to be a call to the river bet. MAYBE he has AK. But he's not leading out with anything weaker than that on the turn then betting the river. Easy to see when you know the cards I know. I know.
Adelstein to me was showing STRENGTH when he bet 25k or 18% pot on the turn! When someone has an awesome hand they either check quickly or they bet small to make the other person think they have a weaker hand. But in high stakes this usually means the opposite! When someone bets small on the turn it means they're trying to induce the other party to call and to project an image of weakness but their hand is very STRONG. BERKEY PICKED UP ON THAT AND JUST CALLED THE 25K ON THE TURN.
The river was a brick and adelstein wanted to feign weakness and bet under the 100K psychological number or 90k and less than 30% of the pot to induce a call or a raise !
Berkey big ego took the bate and made the mistake of going all in for the extra 40K that adelstein had and he lost. He
said I should have just called and realized his mistake...to late.
Hope that was helpfull
hand took 10 minutes than it should have
Amazing. AA won at the end. It never happens for me. Last 3 times I had AA, I got beat for my entire stack.
Damn. I had to come down here to the comments while watching the video. Duh
Remember it's just 1 pair
Solve for THAT!!!🤣
LOVE THE HAT JOEY
Papi
Yes, just a call on the river.
He was straddles so I think that loosens his range a bit allowing AK to be there
What a terrible raise on the river lmao
Being a regular in these games I can break down the river action for you on whether or not to raise. Garrett's 5b bluffing range isn't gonna be hands like JTs more like A5s, AQ and even AK. Yes AK is a 5b bluff when you are that deep. Some players might not 5b AK but thats the real question here. Does Garrett have the 3 combos of AK in range? If so and occasionally A5s then you have a clear raise being that there are only 3 combos of AA you are worried about.
Love the hat joey 😍😍
was that a slow roll?
Sick slowroll.
I really cant believe this hands :D
I think if your berk you bet on the flop, there’s no hands in your 5 bet calling range that you won’t wanna be better when checked to on a king high flop in position, Garrett doesn’t fold flop obviously but I think that was a mistake and also raising the river was a coin flip cuz Garrett either has the 3 combos of AA or the 3 combos of AK Left so I don’t think that situation is bad either way
Nice hat Joey
Are these players staked?
And I'm definitely just calling river given pre-flop action.
I'm very confused by the Berkey shove, why? He isn't calling shit unless he has a set and there's little chance it's 77 66 because of preflop action.
This happened to me in a tournament today, almost fucking broke something getting cooled like this.
