    Though I don't know the dynamics of the table, I'm not sure I agree with Ali that Zang's being "crafty" here. Everything about is demeanor + body language reads super comfortable (ie strong) to me. I don't think he ever acts this way and has like A8 w the A of spades.

    The best part is when Zang says
    "Ace King...no good...Jungo".
    Tough life carrying $800k in chips around in a fanny pack.
    And Bill Perkins is DEAD RIGHT... one of the best parts of ANY/ALL high stakes poker shows is the table banter going on during the game... w/Laak, Esfandiari etc.
    If it were all hoodie/sunglasses/big headphone 🎧 players sitting in silence, it'd be kinda boring.

    can somebody explain jungle's flop check to me?

    • @andysneds
      @andysneds 6 лет назад

      50k in preflop, jungle is assuming a strong range. By checking flop he doesn't fold out all low equity hands in zangs range such as AK AQ 1010 and gives himself a free card again parts of the range hes behind to such as AA, KK, QQ, AJ. There's probably some more complex GTO reasoning behind it as well.

    • @mjriemen
      @mjriemen 4 года назад

      If he bets he has to fold to a check raise, and the check raise can be a lot of bluffs. His hand is probably a winner but it may not be. He doesn’t want to have to fold it yet, so he checks and chooses to base his action on what Zang does on the turn.

    • @1985gvs
      @1985gvs 6 лет назад +9

      TheArchiveOfWonder
      Exactly.
      It's about who get the closest.
      There's no point in saying 750 instead of 701 if your opponent said 700.
      You're just missing out on winning if the real number is anything from 701 through 725.
      You don't get this?
      Imagine the actual number is 705, 710 or 720.
      Then Doug wins with 700.
      Instead if Bill says 701, he wins.

    • @joedo3529
      @joedo3529 6 лет назад +4

      Technically you are obvious right, but they are not making the prob bet to get any tiny edge possible, they are betting to have fun.

    • @1985gvs
      @1985gvs 6 лет назад +2

      Joe Do
      Yes agree. But for sure, if it was the other way around, Doug or any poker pro would 100% choose in an optimal way.
      In this case only 701 or 699 are logical choices.

    I dont get the overbet on the river, Cates checked the flop and just called the turn, he either has a weak hand or the nutflush

    • @jameshart952
      @jameshart952 6 лет назад +4

      It's a levelling game. Cates would always bet his flush draw and all his sets on the flop when checked to in position, so Zeng is essentially saying to Cates on the river with the overbet that because your range is capped to non-flushes and non-sets I am betting huge to bluff you out, and Cates knows that's what an overbet means on the river because you wouldn't value bet large against a marginal hand, but Zeng also knows Cates knows this and chooses to do this with strongest hands, K high flush, hoping that Cates would call here a greater percentage of the time than he is supposed to because an overbet doesn't make sense. Cates folded either because either he thought his hand was too weak to call or he went to the next level and went to the Elite Four and became the closest thing we have to Charles Xavier

    • @AlMahdiist
      @AlMahdiist 6 лет назад

      Im sure you know what they are thinking

    • @DrunkOfficeTea
      @DrunkOfficeTea 6 лет назад

      It's a polarising bet. You want to try to make you're bets polarised when you have it or you don't. He might make the same move if he had the ace of spades in his hand as it blocks the nut flush. It applies maximum pressure and polarises your hand so it doesn't matter if cates only has a medium strength hand. He's calling if he thinks he's making a move with blockers and he's folding if he thinks he has it. He obviously made the correct decision this time but you can see it was clearly close.

    0%?

    • @unvrknow22
      @unvrknow22 6 лет назад +1

      It's the percentage chance that each player will have the best hand at a showdown. On the flop, Jungle can't win a showdown because they have the same hand and there isn't a run out in the deck that beats Zang. However, Zang is freerolling to the spade flush with a 36% chance to hit and win. Therefore, there's a 64% chance of a chopped pot on the flop after the turn and river are out, and it's why the two percentages on the screen don't equal 100%. If the players were still tied after the river card came out, both players would have 0% next to their name.
