I'm almost 12 weeks pregnant with my first and it's been ROUGH. The nausea, fatigue, food aversions, and just generally feeling "off" has been so hard. I also wasn't expecting to feel so lonely. I have an amazing husband who is with me every step of the way, but it's truly a journey I'm completing on my own. I just got hired as a school nurse and I'm so worried about making it through an entire work day without a 2 hour nap lol. Always good to see you Julia! I traveled solo for the first time to see my bf for his bday. 😶
Around two years ago I made a comment about a chronic leukemia diagnosis. Turned out a very weird leukemia that no doctor has seen before had a stem cell transplant been good for a year and a half, and now here I am with news that again shook my ground. Relapse and a second stem cell transplant. And I thought my nightmare was over. Almost died the last time. Last year and a half was magical though, so I’ll try my best to survive this again. My mom died two weeks ago. Cant even explain how i feel...Guess dime things takes time so im trying to stay busy and not thinking
My best friend Penny Lane passed last Friday. The good is she was a canine and unlike most humans in most places they are allowed to pass with dignity. She was still herself and I’m hoping not completely miserable. She was my entire world and honestly the only being who has loved me unconditionally or I could trust completely. It was like putting my baby down. I know if you don’t know this sounds insane. I truly believe we were bonded via soul. I’m grateful and blessed she was the best dog ever. I miss her so much it’s really hard to see a future without her. Cancer takes so much. Sometimes I wonder if there is a person in this world it’s not affecting at any given moment
Julia, your life looks so much mine did many years ago after having kids (2 girls 14 months apart) and then developing thyroid and other immune system issues and a parent with cancer. It's clear you're abiding in all the little joys. Beautiful to see. My memories of that very difficult time are actually some of the most potent and poignant of my life. Just stay with it.
It was actually one of my girls who shared your channel with me maybe a decade ago knowing how certain types of ASMR were helping me sleep etc. Ironically (or maybe unironically 😅) that daughter is now a psychiatrist. Your home is beautiful, your relationship is healthy and your daughter is immaculate. You're doing everything right. I never post on social media but wanted to appreciate and validate your life and the way you share it,

First, I want to say I'm praying for your Mom. Second, small victories like the bathroom counter staying clean is awesome. Third, life is stressful, but I'm grateful I got to see my 83 year old grandpa and had some amazing quality time with him.
Just wanted to say, your little angel is absolutely beautiful!! She has your eyes for sure! You are doing a great job in case you needed to hear it! Seeing her little face light up at the party you planned for the babies was so sweet. Don't forget to take time for yourself and try to let go of mom guilt.. I have it all the time too! I will keep your mom in my thoughts.. cancer really does put life into perspective but I can tell from your video of your trip home that you have a very special bond with your mom and I'm sure you feel that even more after having your precious daughter. I can't explain how joyful this video is making me feel. For some reason you are that youtuber whose videos I always watch in random order but this is the first time I clicked so fast and God, am I glad I did that. The last video I watched of yours was kind of a sad one (from quite a while back) and it makes me immensely happy to see you in this one living your life to the fullest with your family. My mental health got such a boost, so thanks for making this video. Little things like seeing you be so passionate about the photos or your party, etc. were really wholesome. Wish you the best! The early morning snuggles when they first wake up are everything. 🥹🥹❤ Also my cancer is in remission! Thank God. Julia, hang in there. It’s so hard to see your mom sick with cancer. My mom had breast cancer 3 times in her 30’s and 40’s. She is still here at 74 now. Sending you love. 🤍

@@ace3312 I’ve had genetic testing done. Yes, I do carry the BRCA 2 mutation as does my mother and my now deceased maternal grandfather and my maternal great grandmother.

When my mom got diagnosed with Cancer my entire life shifted. I changed, the way i think changed, the way i look at life changed. I was 37 and it was like i left my carefree life behind and nothing was ever quite the same. I havent seen your little one since she was born, she has her daddys eyes! Too cute.
Thank you for sharing about your mom, as most of what you described is such a real reality to so many and something close to home for me as well since I was my mothers primary care taker when I was around 21 during the period where she got very sick and went through chemo. Thankfully she has gone through and gotten much better, but It definitely changes you as a person and effects not only the person going through it but those around that person as well. Sending so so much love and prayers for you and your family🤍
Love your videos Julia, always so relaxing and real! I’m sorry about the feelings you’re having about not being able to be with your mom, must be so hard, I know it is. Just to validate your feelings about that, no matter how old you are, you always need your mama! For most people, our mom and dad are our one safe place to fall, no matter what is happening in our life, we know we have their love, when anything threatens that feeling, it’s a life changing event! Sending love to you and your mama!
Honor is so precious!! My daughter is a few weeks younger than her so it makes me happy to see another baby at the same stage! Big hug to you as you navigate your moms treatment. It isn’t easy. I’m a cancer survivor- there are good days and bad- but know your mom is so happy to have your love and support (even if from afar). THAT is what matters. I do hope you guys can make a trip home to visit, soon. All in time. Thanks for the update!
I felt very similar when my grandfather was diagnosed with Multiple myeloma cancer. My life changed, I went from him taking care of me to the other way around. For certain periods of his diagnosis, he's struggled or been unable to do things (ex: leave his bed, etc.). And while I knew consciously for my entire life that one day I'd be responsible to take care of him, knowing that moment really came did change me as a person. I grew up a lot and understood more of what other adults must be doing, yet at the same time I do still feel rather juvenile in others. I do feel stronger. Anyway this is all to say, thank you for sharing your family/life with us and please know people can relate (whoever is reading and going through the same thing). And as of today, my grandfather is still his sassy but good self where he's able to walk, eat, work, socialize with others in-person, etc. as he'd like mainly like.

thank you for sharing this glimpse of life with us! I've been in a burnout hell since january, basically doing an 8 months long crunch to get to the end of my degree and even though i knew what was coming, the amount of stress i put myself and my body thorugh was massive and i haven't got my period for months. Today i got it back and i'm very close to the end of this horrible time of my life :)

I'm bullet journaling rn while my husband is asleep with the baby. so having some me time feels nice. I've been dealing with some postpartum depression but I'm doing so much better now. I’m doing fine. Great to catch up with you and your family! I just started my last semester of school and my son is 9 months and 3 wks now. It’s been tough staying home by ourselves lately but soon we will be reunited with dad. I’m hoping to stay positive and keep taking care of myself and our home through all of the changes.

My 84-year-old dad has esophageal & upper stomach cancer. It's inoperable, plus he has dementia, so he's got 2 1-way appointments to the reaper. It's not if, but when. So I can relate to your mindset regarding your mom. Stay strong and be positive, for yourself and your mom. Take things step by step, day by day. You've got a rough road ahead, and you'll be stronger for it. We're here for you.

I realize this sounds weird because we're total strangers, but I just want to say that I'm so proud of you for getting to where you are in your life. ❤ You're such a good Mama, & while I can't really relate to the closeness you feel with your own mother, I have a ton of respect for the love & dedication you clearly feel for your Mom. You're so lucky too lol, when my hair was growing back after a pretty serious illness it would do this weird thing where like the curls would be trying to grow back and they would just be random clusters of whisps of hair at all different parts of my head haha, looked so weird. But you're looking wonderful. Keep it up

Hi Julia, thank you for this video. I love watching your vlogs, when I see you I feel like I am talking to my close friend after not seeing them for a long time. I cried when you started talking about your mom and your voice cracked. I haven't seen my mom for more than 5 years because of the shitty politics in my home country. I bought her a silver bracelet when I just moved to the states in the hopes of giving it to her one day in person. Last month I sent it to her because I don't even know when I am going to see her. I am trying to be hopeful but sometimes it feels so lonely. Sending you hugs and prayers for your Mom. May God give her a speedy recovery.

I was so happy to see you were back to the ASMR.
My mom had breast cancer when I was 8. It's 40 years later and she has remained healthy and cancer free. But it definitely changed me & still makes me tear up to think about even though she survived & so much time has passed. But one of the best things about the experience is that she has helped so many women going through cancer treatment, including one of my friends who is finishing up her chemo treatment next week. I wish the best for your mom, for you and your family. ❤😊

Could you please do the video on how your mum's cancer diagnosis changed your perspective? I am 32 years old and lost my mum to cancer this year after she was diagnosed 4 years ago. This topic is so rarely talked about and not many people are confronted with it being this young. I would be extremely interested in your experience. But I also understand that it is hard to talk about.. I wish all the best to you and your mum!

My first grandchild was born 3 weeks ago , she (amity is her name) weighs 2pound.. very small!!... also I have just been diagnosed with epilepsy as I kept having seizures so life for me is hectic.

I think you’ll appreciate this distinction “evolution” occurs over generations not in a lifetime. That’s something I’ve always thought of with “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell” from my biology major. So your mind is changing yes, but not evolving. Serious health issues with close family has also been a huge turning point in my life too.

From experience with the "brain rewiring", talking to friends who have had a parent go through cancer really helps because they just get it in a way that even the most caring friend who hasn't been there is not able to. It's a weird comfort to be like "this is really fucked up" and know that the person really understands what you mean and the true extent of how fucked up it is, lol.

Hey Julia, to be honest not great… I’ve watched your videos for years Julia, ever since I was 14 years old. You made me branch out into yoga and pole and overall just made me feel better about living ethically and spirtitually sound. I’m so proud of you and your journey. Obviously I don’t know you, but I do know you’re a great mom. I just had to get an abortion and I never thought I would have to. I return to your videos tho on days when I’m very depressed and don’t want to get out of bed. Positive, real content like yours is so important for normalizing mental health issues and hardships. I cant wait to be a mother someday when I can provide for my child and take care of myself. I hope I will be a great mother like you .

Julia, i hope you see this. I suffer from migraines aswell, last time i remembered i saw on tiktok that if you place your feet in hot water, as hot as you can handle, and you put something cold on your neck or forehead, the pain may go down as it helps with blood circulation. I did it like 4 times in the course of a couple of hours and the pain went from 7/10 to 2/10. Maybe it was placebo effect, but as it is only water it could be worth giving a try

yes please make a video about iron deficiency, hair loss, thyroid, I am in completely the same situation as you I am so think my hair falls off and I sleep all day. Its all connected but I dont know from what. I read that some pathogens, bacteria and parasites they feed on iron, and so ur body tries to starve them so it stops absorbing iron and it causes thyroid issues as well

Work is stressful atm, but on the flip side, I volunteer at my local Riding for the Disabled charity and recently, one of our more difficult/ cheeky horses has decided she likes me and has gone on a charm offensive...I have fallen hard for her and we are now buddies. She follows me sometimes and booped me gently on the head last week...hard to explain how much that meant to me

I would go see your mom. If you're worried about getting her sick just quarantine for a week or so before. You'll never regret going to see her but you will regret not going.
